VISA APPROVED TRANSCRIPTS (PART 9)

MIKE1994REDS
i guess i'll be the FIRST testifier in this new part 9 thread. what an honour!!!
all glory to God, my visa was approved at about 11:30 at the usa embassy in lagos.after i've been denied f1 visa 2yrs ago.
here's how it went: i was at the embassy very early around 8:30 b4 my appointment time which was slated for 11am.
hanged around somewhere enjoying the cool breeze of.d area while watching pple coming out of d embassy with sad
faces and their passport together.with d blue rejection
paper with them. just kept my nerves and was rehearsing and praying too. at around.10:30, i decided to go in myself, did.d
neccessary documents arrangement and checkings den straight into the sacred room( ibi a wi lade yi o). i joined the queue
standing, d rooms was too cold.for.me i.guess because i was tensed. as i drew near the VO window on d queue, my
heart.was beating at about 200times/min, lost my confidence at d sight of pple denied, lot and lot.of.pple got denied that
day, a very bad day at d embassy. just to chip this in, d lady in window 4 actually exhausted her blue denial paper and had
to go to d next window to borrow denial paper b4 she went for.another pack.
i had to exit d queue with an excuse of going to.d toilet, there i washed my face, prayed and rehearsed a little in front of d
mirror then rejoined d queue again from the back.
finally standing in front of window six VO to b interviewed
VO: hey, good morning( d man seems to b a jovial person, saw him crack joke with 2 applicants b4 issuing visa)
ME: good morning sir(with a fake smile)
VO: you are going for.studies at the university of maine
ME: yes sir, my undergraduate studies
VO: ok, what major?
ME: mechanical engineering
VO: why did you choose dis school?
ME: i chose the school after realizing the excellent quality of the technological skills and facilities such as the
PDC(process developing centre), MSCC(machine structure and composite centre) available to students at d school. aside
from that fact i was quite particular about.school that engage their student much more in machine design projects as i
would love to be a competent and a practising engineer when i return to my country, nigeria and not just a theoretical
engineer, someone sound in d knowledge of.math and science and not practising it.(vo listened intently and was nodding)
VO: you have a passion for.engineering?
ME: yes sir, right from my secondary school days
VO: do you have a score?
ME: the school exempted me.from submitting TOEFL score but i.....(VO cuts in)
VO: i dont care about TOEFL, just show me something, ur transcipt, ur score, anything!
ME: ok, give me a minute sir, ( checked my clear bag patiently and brought out my transcript and waec result, passed it to
him)
VO: ok, ( i think he was after my score in math cos i heard him utter mathematics silently, i had distinction 'A&B' in my
transcript and waec rsptvly.)
when does d programme starts
ME: 23rd of aug, this year
VOsadtyping very fast) you were here two years ago with an i-20 from bedmiji state university
1
ME: yes sir, i was denied.the visa that day
VO: why?
ME: according to paper given to me, i was unable.to.demonstrate strong home ties to my country.
VO: where is bemidji state.university? i have.not.heard.of.such school
ME: it's a state university in thr city of.bemidji in minnesota.
VO: who's paying for your studies!
ME: my mum
VO:what does she do?
ME:she's a lecturer at bleep bleep university.
VO: what kind of.lecturer?
ME: (was a bit confused but never showed on my face as he was watching closely) she's a senior lecturer.(vo nods)
VO: (was typing intently then suddenly frowned his face, i knew something was up) have you paid your sevis fee?
ME: (with an astonished face) yes i have! i have my reciept.here!
VO: it's not reflecting on d system and i......(then i cut in)
ME: i actually paid 2days ago and i was told it would take 2working days b4 it reflects
VO: sorry, i cant see it!
ME: but i have my reciept here, (my countenance dropped and was obviously scared and he noticed that)
VO: (with a big smile) i want to issue you ur visa but i need to b sure d money has been paid. ok, lemme see what i can
do.( was typing super-fast!)
ME: was praying in my mind, dey call GOd to show his mercy at dis point.
VO: ok ok ok, i'll be approving your visa and you can pick up ur passport and ur form at d circled location(passes d white
paper ti me and then folded my i-20 into my passport then placed it beside his system)
ME: ( i was curious on one side as i know d normal routine is that they give u ur i-20 while they keep ur passport, gurus in
d house should correct me if am wrong pls, but i just didnt care
since he said d golden words and gave me d white paper)
THANK YOU sir!
VO: (gave a thumbs-up and winked an eye at me) Enjoy your day.

i just cant thank you guys enough, justwise, dapo, aadeyi, msnas, slimmy, warriboy, ogechukwu,my pseudo-VO and
everyone that has ever posted something useful on dis thread. let's keep up d good works.
and my prayer for those having their.interview coming up, the God whose name is.JEHOVAH that did mine.will.do.yours

solutions to these diseases in Nigeria, with diseases such as HIV, Malaria, TUberculosis killing millions of Nigerians
yearly,It will give me a strong leverage to work with the FMOH in order to help institute policies and carry out projects
that will help reduce the burden of diseases in Nigeria.

V.O.: Who will be sponsoring this

sofadj : My brother. He is a XXXXXX
V.O. : Cuts in sharply. Your visa has been approved,...blah blah blah

V.O. didnt ask me for any document

V.O. seemed to have made up her mind after asking the 2nd question, she probably just asked the 3rd to keep me talking.
She was nodding while i was talking but i could swear she wasnt listening.
I wasn't as coherent and fluent as it seems here, i paused, hanged, at some time while answering but I still went on. I was
not over trying to make an impression.

MAIN ADVICE: Relax and talk from the heart. KNow your points but dont cram a speech.

KAYZONER70
Good day great people, thanks to all the people in the house. I cant deny the fact that this thread has really been helpful to
me, if though i have only posted maybe 2 or 3 times. My visa was approved at 11.03 at the Lagos embassy, today.
Ultimate thanks to God.
Woke up around 2:30am in the morning, said my little prayer, and continued my week-long rehearsal. I kept pacing back
and forth, moving from my room to d sitting room, charging myself up to try to gain confidence for the fateful few hours
to come. Mehn it feels great putting one brain to rigorous thought, super brilliant response just flying in, then i'd just
rephrase a little for simplicity.
Fast-forward to inside the room sha, where d v.o's dem dey, i pannicked for minutes, after which i try to instill courage
again. These two moods just kept taking turns within my system. Finally it got to my turn, and the conversion goes thus...

V. O: Why are you going to the U.S

Me: To obtain my masters degree in Environmental sciences, specifically in Environmental policy at Southern Illinois
University Edwardsville.

V. O: How many school did you apply to

Me: 3; Florida international university, Texas a&m university, and Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville

V. O: Why did you choose to go here

Me: Most importantly, the great level of interaction with the other areas of specialization, to ensure implementation of
comprehensive environmental scientific finding.
The positive response i got on my areas of research from prof x, who i intend to work it when i get to school
Ranking of d school as it is among top 10 public masters level university in the mid-western region of the u.s

V.O: What will you do after graduation

Me: Will come back to Nigeria to work on challenges facing the environmental sector particularly in the areas of
implementaion of new ideas

V. O: Did you write any standardized test

Me: Yes, i wrote the Test of English and Foreign Language

V.O: Who is paying

6
Me: My uncle

V.O: What does he do

Me: He works at xxxx

Then she said, Congratz ur visa has been approved, and started talkin abt EduUSA..
Mehn, i just collect my white paper, leave d room sharpaly.
Though my voice was shaking abit, but i like the lady (window 2), she allowed me make my case.
Thanks to everyone that have contributed in one way or d other here, you guyz are really wonderful.
My profile wasnt even superb, na baba God just do am. I actually did write GRE but my score was low (288), A.R 2.5 so i
didnt bother mentioning it to the V.O so as to not affect my chances if asked for my score, as it wasnt even required for
for 3.0+ GPA in SIUE. Toefl: 88.
To those about getting their visa, i wish you all the best, and to those that have gotten, congtatz in ur future endeavours.
God bless you all.

CBNL2014
Visa Approved yesterday morning - 6.30am appointment
No GMAT, No GRE, No Toefl. . My fears all along were this standardized test which I did not write because I have heard
it boost ones chances of getting a visa.
I was interviewed by the lady in Window 2
Me: Good morning
VO: Hello (With a straight face).
VO: Where are you going to in the US?
Me: I am going to University of Nebraska at Kearney
VO: What is your course of study?

Me: He is a Financial Marketing Consultant to X (Big Financial Institution). He also retired as a Deputy Director from the
same institution.
VO: Did you write any standardized test (A question I was expecting)
Me: No, My admission was based on my past academic performances and my years of professional work experience
which had leadership career progression. (I have worked in two different places within the last 5 years)
VO: What did you study in school?
Me: I studied Mechanical Engineering at University of Ilorin and I have a Masters degree in Engineering control systems
and instrumentation from University of Huddersfield in the United Kingdom (she raised her head up the first time to look
at me in the face; I looked into her eyes too since I have nothing to hide lol).
VO: Why MBA?

7
Me: I want to pursue a masters degree in Business administration so as to acquire managerial skills and advance into a
senior engineering and management position in the organization I work. (I intentionally kept my answer short).
VO: How many schools did you apply to?
Me: I applied to three schools. University of Nebraska, Kearney, University of Nevada at Reno and Bowie State
University, Bowie Maryland.
VO: What courses would you be offering?
Me: (I envisaged they could ask during my preparation so i knew all the courses already) Leadership and Organizational

VO: Looking at her screen, how come you were denied a visa to UK in 2012 despite you did your graduate study there
(She took my passport and flipped through to the page where the date was stamped)
Me: (Another question that hit me unaware, no single visa on the passport I gave her except denial visa stamp). I was
informed that I did not include my statement of account despite it was supposed to be a sponsored trip and I was told to
reapply. But ever since then, I have had no reason to reapply.
VO: How did you find out about the school?
Me: The school was recommended to me by a senior colleague I worked with while in X (Oil Multinational). He also did
his graduate studies at University of Nebraska. (For my mind, I say this interview no go finish today)
VO: How long did you stay in the UK?
Me: I was in UK for a period of 2years before I came back to Nigeria.
VO: She looked at her screen for about 40secs (Which looked like 30mins to me) and said your visa has been approved.

MEVISBLEEKS WIFE
Firstly, I would like to thank everyone on this forum for making this forum as informative as possible. Most importantly, I
would like to thank the dude that sent me the transcript, can't remember his name, thank you Sir.

As promised, please see my wife's transcript below. It was kind of a short interview so I don't think the transcript would
be of much help. Her interview was held at Abuja VO this morning at 9am. I heard that an old woman came for interview
dressed in their Chosen attire with a bible on her left hand. However, she was denied and she started telling the VO that
the God of chosen, the God of my pastor will blahblahbh, Aww. That's sad

VO: Good Morning

Wifey: Good Morning
VO: Why are you going to USA
Wifey: For a Masters in ADR at the University of Denver. Before she could say the last R, he intercepted and said
Alternative Dispute Resolution. E be like say na him major for school. lol
VO: When did you graduate and what did you study
8
Wifey: Graduated with an LLB in 2009 and went on for an LLM in 2012
VO: Have you been called to bar
Wifey: Yes, I have
VO: That's nice.
VO: Are you working
Wifey: Yes, I'm
VO: May I have your old passport
Wifey: She handed it to him and he cancelled her existing B1 Visa
VO: Your visa has been approved.

Nna eh, no document was looked at. I think the USA VO's look out for your communication skill and your ability to
convince them that you will leave the country upon graduation. In our case, we were able to prove that because she has a
2yrs B1 visa and only visited the states twice and returned back to Nigeria.

Also, it's important to give short and cogent answers. Thanks guys.....
At this point, I will retire to the Canadian thread where I be Guru-Maharaji the 2nd. lol.

ROGERDAVID

can do like 100 naira. Well I said to my self I am getting this visa today.
So we got through the screening process my docs where inorder. So I saw for my self how Visa Officers give denials it

CASHGLUE
Hello. Just wanted to share my visa approval story on here. I had my interview 7:30 this morning at Abuja.A little
background first: This is my second time of posting here. My F1 visa was approved in 2014. I graduated from the masters
this month and was already accepted by God's grace to begin another program on a J1. I chose to return to Nigeria for
another interview versus trying to change status in the US.

Here's my transcript:

VO: Good morning(very pleasant and courteous)

Me: responded in like manner
VO: Your passport please
I pass that to him
VO: oh may I have your DS2019?
Gladly gave it to him
VO: oh looks like you have been studying in the US for the past couple of years
Me: Yeah. I have been studying for a masters degree in health administration and health informatics. The degree was
conferred last week.
VO: Nice. What are going to do now?
Me: I am going to train as a psychiatrist at Bleep school of medicine
VO: Are you a doctor?
Me: Yes, I am
VO: Do you have a specialty?
Me: Not yet. That's what this training is for. I am going to specialise in psychiatry.
VO excuses himself and disappears to the back for about 5 minutes. He returns and then
VO: Tell me about your interest in Psychiatry
Me: I had done a self evaluation towards the end of my medical education and realised that my strengths lie in my
resilience, empathic listening as well as my non judgemental nature. These are some of the very tenets on which the
specialty of psychiatry is built. I knew that if I wanted to be able to use my strengths to the utmost benefits of patients, it
would have to be in psychiatry. I can also relate to the burden of mental illness having had a mentally ill relative who set
fire to our house while living with us. That condition is called Pyromania.
VO seemed pleased with response
VO: Types for a long time and then says your visa has been approved. He signs my DS 2019 and affixes his name seal on
it and then returns it. He hands me the white paper and another booklet that talks about the rights of workers in the US and
says some other information and then I leave.

Lessons:

I really wanted to not come back to go through the process but it wasn't as bad as I thought.
Maybe having had a visa before helps especially if you have abided by the regulations binding that class of visa
If you know what you are going to do and can defend it, they will likely approve it.
16
I thank God who did not disappoint me once again. He has no assistant doer and so I return all the glory to him.

Feel free to direct questions to me and other experienced people in the house. Regards to the wise men like imperioux,
bigfrancis, etc.

PS: For those still wondering about the issue of having two classes of visa on your passport. I still have a valid F1 and
then I would have this J1. The guy who interviewed me didn't say anything about cancelling the F1 and from what I saw,
he was an older mature VO that would know the workings of these things.

MEKUREXX
Hello Guys...So my transcript goes thus. Firstly I want to Thank the Almighty God. He was the one who gave me
admissions and I always reminded him that he started this journey with me since last year, he cant abandon me now. [i]I
serve a God that uses a stick to bring forth iron from the sea to disgrace the magnet. He showed Himself strongly today. I
said a prayer that the Lord should straighten all crooked ways and grant me favour, He answered. My appointment was
11am (I chose 11am cuz recently approvals were from 11am appointments). Got to the embassy around past 9 thereabout.
The usual security checks and then we walked into the interview room. It was jam-packed sad Trust me whatever nerves
you have, after standing up on that queue, the nerves will dry up. today more of approvals than denials I was interviewed
by a VO in Window 6:

V.O: Good Morning, pass me your docs (passport with ds-160 etc folded in)
Me: Morning, How are you ? *passed the docs*
V.O: Great! So where you heading to?
Me: MNU for a masters degree
V.O: So why did you choose this program?
Me: My strengths and motivation lie in the field of community health. I look forward to research work with Dr. Vick who
we both have the same research interests. I will also take a research preliminary exam at the end of my program that will
make me a certified health education specialist
V.O: Nice!. Have you been here (embassy) before? *Me: Yeah. I see you have been to the US.
Me:Yes I have, for my sis grad at Columbia Uni. V.O: gives an impressed smile. Me: shines teeth. V.O: how did you find
the experience?
Me: Excellent. I had a great time.
V.O: So you finished what year?
Me: 2013
V.O: What have you been doing?
Me: Went for my Nysc. been working as a medical sales rep.
V.O: Started chatting with me. since your program starts in august you cant enter till july.... dont forget the Educationusa
predeparture. goodluck with your program. I will approve your visa
Me: Thanks! Have a nice day

It was lets say 3mins but I was smiling all through and in the middle I knew I was gonna get approved but still stood my
calm.

17
The V.O approved a woman who said her husband works as a gym instructor at punch newspaper. and he was like gym
instructor and punch newspaper? how come? undecided And she replied that he trains them during exercises and make
them look fit But He approved. and he denied a man who is a supposed ''big man''. he asked him why he earns so much
and never travelled but he couldnt explain well, he denied. Point is every case is unique. be honest and confident. And
maintain a positive attitude. And pls dont CRAM. alot of folks sounded like they were doing tinsel auditions and obvs
they got denied. OK for married couples, as they queued infront of the VO they were all lovey dovey, the only thing that
remained was just for them to makeout tongue, dont know if that helps but I noticed it.

In the course of my applications God made me meet people who helped me cross bumps I faced. I wanna thank
Bigfrancis21 for all his help with my payments and also all the encouragements. a big thank you! This guy effortlessly
made sure all my payments went trhrough and still email me to know progress. #selflessact To this great guy too,
Fortissimo the mock interview on skype was really helpful. and my big big buddy, fizzile, right before I even booked my
appointment, he always spoke positive words to my ears and last night gave me good drills on mock interview. He is a
friend turned brother. Thank you. and other members I messaged at one point, purplesummer, aadeyi, sirridy (tanks for
asking on my prep when you called) etc God bless you guys!. Thank you justwise for this thread! immensely helpful.

SIRRIDDY
So the journey that started on this platform about two years ago was consolidated with a visa approval at the Lagos
consulate on the 23rd of May.

I left the hotel around 5AM with my dad after a brief shower. I had to leave that early for my appointment at 630AM
because I did not bring the right specification of passport from home to the hotel the previous night. I got to the consulate
and had to shell out 1500 naira for a very terrible photo.

After several checks, at least three, we were ushered into the building for the biometrics. The lady who took my data was
so nasty and kept shouting instructions at people, myself included. I proceeded to join the queue, I was among the first ten
people on the rather long queue. The consulate officers sounded quite convivial. A young man with think Igboaccent
going to the UM College Park for MS in Metallurgy was approved as well as a plumpy lady too. The College Park applied
to just a school but still got his visa. Another woman with a walking defect who was going to see her son who has been in
the US since 2006 was approved too.

It was my turn, window 4, some minutes to 8, white guy with some extra build.

VO: Good morning. Pass me your documents please.

Me: Morning, how you doing today? (With a slight smile)

VO: So tell me about your program

Me: I am going to Kansas State University to pursue a PhD degree in computer science.

VO: What will your course work involve?

18
Me: I will be taking advanced computer science courses in order to satisfy the breadth requirements that will qualify me to
become a doctoral candidate in the first two semesters. I will also take a research preliminary exam to satisfy this
condition.

VO: So tell me about your assistantship.

Me: This is one of the most compelling reasons for choosing K-State. I get to tutor undergraduate students a fundamental
Computer course during teaching hours, grade scripts and proctor tests which will prepare me for a career in academics.

VO: I will be approving your visa.

He gave me a white paper, circled a location to pick it up and talked about the educationUSA orientation on the 26th of
July and gave me a flyer to accompany it.
ProfileGPA: 3.28/4 or 3.64/5, GRE: 316 162Q 154V 4.5AWA TOEFL 107

Special appreciation to my brother and friend (godG), the delectable iya Ibadan (msNas), My big bros (mystiqme), the
generous and big-hearted guy(slimmy2005), one of the funniest guy I have met (ojah), lovely guy (bigFrancis21), my
amazing colleague (baodium), great guy (walspring) my lovely friends (gunther6, cutemorgan, fortissimo, kennyrony,
OjaP, biikeys, gboyegaD, ttmacoy, danjaNinja, horayce, dicapino, ebdib, stolid), for all his humour and lovely
jokes(warriboy21), for his efficient administration(justwise)

To future applicants:

1. Listen to the gurus. But do your own findings please. If you are planning for next fall, start searching for schools now.
Mail professors after you have read their journals and find anything interesting, mail grad students, be proactive and
dedicated. Many will not reply you but you will learn a lot during the process.

2. Spread your risks. Ranked, moderate, safe schools. I applied to 8, three good ones and five safe. Be realistic with your
ambitions. The expenses pile up real quick and you dont want to do this thing twice.

3. Study hard for your standardized tests. If you are an engineering student, a 160 should be your target on the quant
section of the GRE.

4. Have a LinkedIn account and edit your resume well. Let it suit your application for grad school. Nobody cares if you
sold gala in front of Eko hotel. Accentuate your professional skills and experience.

5. Your SOP is the most important. Maybe I am exaggerating, but not too much. After GPA, SOP is the second most
important material in my opinion. Let many people read it and critique it.

6. Apply early but do not rush them. I completed all my applications before the end of October last year. If you have
4.0/5.0 and GRE of 320 at least, apply to PhD programs. There is funding priority for students accepted into PhD
programs.

19
7. Be hopeful. If you are religious, hold on to it and be hopeful.

DICKOFLIFE
My interview was on the 20th a friday. Because of the impending strike I left home for abuja via bus on wednesday
morning. Got to abuja not so long after and headed for lugbe.
Since it was friday I flexed well with guys just to keep off the nerves and on thursday evening put my passport in my bible
and prayed like never before ( lols na dat time we dey remember God).... Friday morning got taxi for my 9 am
20
appointment at 7 am and arrived dier shortly. All those touts wanted to hustle me but I no gree. I had all my documents in
place. I went ahead to dash out 500 naira finally for a reprint of my application page as it was not so clear. Suddenly I felt
I had to use the mens room so at 8 I headed into the embassy joined the line and then excused myself to use the loo. I was
granted permission but as soon as I returned I was told to go to the back. I went back and then finally came my turn for
verification. The lady was polite. She wore a green sweater on top her uniform that day. I got in and joined her line again
to scan passports then was told to go meet the indian lady for verification. After we went outside to join a line to come
inside again. When finally it was our turn to go in I was so happy cus the waiting was killing. That was around 11:46 or
so. We went in and sat again on chairs and was asked to keep shifting in a u sort of pattern ... I heard every conversation.
There was a man , an fcib officer who filled female for his gender instead of mail and couldn't even asnwer the basic
questions about security. An old woman with pastor mouka sorta like prayer attire who was denied but kept begging and
calling the guy in window 8 'my son'. Another woman who came to the sulate with her kids for a fresh visa but her
previous visa was denied because gave birth in the us and couldn't produce receipt for the birth. Her visa was revoked.
Finally it was my turn. I heard next applicant to window 7 please. I bounced like 'Jet Lie' go meet the man. I had selected
my best leather brown timberland with obvious scuff marks on the toe and blue jean with a nice polo. As I got to the
window and was about ting he stopped me.
V.O: pass me your passport and I-20 and also that old passport ( I carried it all in my clear yellow bag that type sold for 80
naira). I passed it along and he scanned through my passport then picked the old one and saw the various visas on it. He
pulled out the paper in the middle and held it up.what is this he asked.
Me: that is my ressidence permit in Russia.
V.O: do you speak russian?
Me: da kanieshna. Ya bilo stuudente..... He cuts in
V.O: that is the correct answer.
So you are going to Grand Valley State university for a masters in Communication?
Me: that is correct
He was interrupted by the guy in window 8 who came to him again for advice and asked about sevis fee.
V.O: pass me your sevis receipt please.
I passed it to him and he showed him and then they continued talking. He got back to me and said sorry for that. Why
Russia? He asked and I wanted to begin a long story when he cuts in and said because its cold right? I said yes in saratov
atimes I was in winter as cold as minus 32. He smiles and said oh wow..
V.O: so what dou you know about communication?
Me: I studied it at undergraduate level and decided I wanted a better experience in the field of advertising as I have
previously worked with Nigerian Distilleries and other companies with the job description solely on advertising. For
example this flier in the passport given to us here is a clear case of advertising.... He cuts in again.
V.O: I will be issuing your visa pick it up at the location circled there and passes me back my documents. He picks my I-
20 and says do not be late and don't get on a plane to the US if you will exceed this date.
Me: thank you. I have a question. My svhool is in Michigan and a straight flight from Nigeria costs almost double. Can I
take a flight to chicago and a bus to Grand Rapids? Its just 4 hours.
V.O: oh yes that is possible as long as you have a bus ticket to show your destination. Just explain to them at the point of
entry that a 4 hour bus ride will save you cost and you will be fine. What tips off people is when school resumes in 3
weeks or more and you show up in an entirely different city far from your school. It raises questions but don't worry you
will be fine.
Me: thank you.
V.O: you are welcome. I pack my documents and walked away.

21
Thanks to all those who called me on that day and before and wished me luck. Erick, gunther6 , and others I might not
remember.

ORPHEUS231
Hello Nairalanders,
I usually come on here to read posts and information. I normally don't post. I must say a very big thank you to Nairaland.
This platform was very instrumental to my success today. At exactly 8am today, i was granted F1 visa to study in America
at the US embassy in Abuja, after seeing three persons get denied F1 Visa. Here is my interview script.
Me: Good morning sir
VO: Good Morning, can i have your passport?
Me: I gave him my passport and was looking staright into his eyes and tried as much as i can to maintain my composure
and i remained confident.
VO: Can i have your I-20 and sevis payment confirmation forms?
Me: I passed them to him.
VO: what are your plans to the United states?
Me: I going to study MSc Healthcare Administration and after which i intend to come back to my home country to take up
leadership and managerial roles at NGOs such as UNICEF and WHO, and other public health sectors in Nigeria.
VO: What is the name of the university you are going to attend?
Me: I told him.
VO: How did you hear about this University?
Me: A friend of mine who attended the university told me about it. Then i went on to research about the university and i
found out it offers course i am interested in.
VO:Did you apply to other universities?
Me: Yes
VO: what other universities did you apply to?
Me: University of Michigan, University of Washington and University of North Carolina.
VO: why did you choose that university over these other ones?
Me: The tuition fee is relatively affordable compared to the other universities. Also the MSc Healthcare administration in
the university i chose contains modules/subjects that i am interested in, unlike the other universities.
VO: You applied for a visa to attend a conference in America earlier this year(february) which was denied?
Me:Yes
VO: paused, takes a glance at his computer and then he said "But you already have a masters"
Me: yes, Masters of Science in Public Health from England.
VO: Why then do you want to acquire another masters?
Me: I have tried applying for Leadership positions at NGOs such as UNICEF and WHO upon my return to Nigeria, but
they keep requesting for MSc healthcare administration for such roles.
VO: I want to give you visa, issues me the white paper.
Me: Thank you sir.
VO: Pick up your Visa and passport in Two days time from ************** address. And make sure you travel to the
US on time.

22
Me: Thank you sir. I was super excited but could not even show it, i don't know why.
Once again, Thanks to you guys, you all made it possible!!!!!!!
NB: He didn't ask me for any document, not even a bank statement. I am eternally grateful to God.

Interview transcript
23
Me: Hi goodmorning (hands him my passport)
VO: Hi goodmorning, how are you?
Me: good
VO:Please hand me your 1-20 and sevis receipt
Me: hands him the requested documents
VO: tell me about your plans
me: I'm going to bla d bla university to study for a PhD in biology. I will be working on bat ecology.
VO: looks at me as if he's expecting me to continue
Me:Returns the look with my mouth shut
VO: biotechnology you say?
Me: nope! Bat ecology
VO: ok are there many bats in nigeria?
me: yeah. At the last IUCN count, abt 80+ but from our recent research, we've been able to discover about 10 new
records. so we are currently updating the list.
VO: What genus are bats under?
Me: (hesitates) Did you mean order? because there are lots of genus under bats. (Gave him a basic lecture on binomial
nomenclature). You understand?
vo: uhmmm yeah, I just wanted you to correct me
Me: Oh okay
VO: is there a name people studying bats are called?
Me: Nah! we just call ourselves bat biologist
VOsadgives me lecture about the right time to enter the US)

PS: sometimes applicants run into problems when they talk too much. I think its better to just keep your answers short,
drive the discussion by subtly introducing a catchy word that would steer the interview to the path you feel comfortable
talking about. In my case, I could have just stopped at 'I'm going to bla d bla university to study for a PhD in biology' but
that'll blow the interview wide open. He could then ask you anything under the sun. To forestall that, I gently introduced
him to bats (which I love talking about) and he took the bait.

When you talk too much, you unknowingly dish out too many "catchy" words, and may God help you if he/she chooses
the one you are not comfortable talking about. A good example was this guy before me. Dude was reeling out words, and
mentioned that he was going to the US to learn some innovative technologies in medical science. VO jumped at that part
and asked him what kind of innovative technology. Dude was thrown off-balance. He stuttered and said 'autoclave'. that
was when I knew he'd be denied. VO said, 'but autoclave has been around for decades'.... the rest is history.

Final shot: don't forget to pray before you go for your interview. All the best to everyone to to the white house soon.

how it went down and my transcript below..

I got to the embassy around 5am. My appointment was for 6:30am. We were called into the CGI session for payment
verification and the rest at about 6am.. I was like the 5th person on the non immigrant session. Wen I got to the CGI staff
for my confirmation, Immediately I droped my Visa fee payment receipt to confirm na so the guy shut fraudulent
document. We going to hold you down. I was like am I dreaming? Payment that I made online directly from my account?
What's this guy talking about... It was so strange. So couldn't hold my self I had to make a scene out of it which warranted
one guy that was acting as their boss got to me asked what was the issue... The useless guy which was forming don wetin I
no know come ask me say was that why I was shouting? I told him his guy shouted first and called me a fraud how can he
do such a thing? If he suspect my receipt for any reason, he should have ask me to sit down and make his verifications
before vilification. Omo na so they "boss" tell me say since they are not ok... that I should go and do the verification in the
bank by myself... can u imagine that? That he's through with me and I can go... hmmmm. Na that time the guy know say
my para been dey do press up... because wetin him see.. him no believe... finally sha, I cool down oh. lol... Because I see
say Na me go loose both my time and purpose of my being there. I had already book my flight to return to PH for today so
every time wasted was at my detriment. To cut story shut... The guy succeeded in wasting over 2 hrs of my precious time
with abeg from his colleagues, he finally let me in. Naija sha. So after that seasonal film, I finally had my confirmation
done and bounced into the main building. Though I still dey para.. I was like wen I will be waiting for my turn, I will try
to organise myself because the guy really disorganised me. My people lo and behold... I didn't know that I won't have
such time. From the moment I stepped in to the fingerprint session to the interview session was less than 2 mins. As I
want to find a way to escape to reorganise myself na so them ask me to stand on figure 3 as I was walking to it the VO
don shout next... I say Gesuss... what. I manage walk to her and as I was going I saw white paper with the lady that was
leaving and I was like this one as just approved, will she approve another one... before I know I'm facing VO.. Gbam
gbam...

Me: Good morning ma'am

VO: Good morning

VO: Where you going to?

Me:Am going to Wisconsin....stuttered hmm to Wisconsin for my masters in OSHT from Wisconsin State University...
immediately I finished I realise my F UP... my school was actually University of Wisconsin Stout. I wanted to correct
myself but something in me said leave it.. she probably didn't hear you. Na so I leave her oh.

VO: how did you get to know about this school

Me: stuttered again... went back to that old line of Internet research bla bla bla... In me I was like God.. what's happening
to me... at this point I actually paused and I was lucky she didn't give a follow up question that would have finished it..so I

added a staff of chevron on one of our platforms actually attend this school and he says so much good about their program
been well rooted in tech with so much emphasis on management courses that will allow the student interfere appropriately
with all employees at different levels.
VO: what are the causes you are going to take
Me: I repeated the question to her and she said yes.. I said ok.. na here I come shine small oh.. I mentioned 7 with their
codes.
VO: What's Sigma Six about? (It's a course am to take) optional though... but I mentioned it to her...
Me: briefly Sigma Six it's a course that deals with how to increase productivity through the reduction of defects, waste and
variance.
VO: how many schools did you apply?
Me: Told her 3
VO: Name them...
Me: Murray State University, Indiana University Pennsylvania and UW-Stout
VO: who's paying for this...
Me: I had a scholarship and my uncle will be paying the rest. I however have some funds for any shortfall.
VO: Is this your uncle in Nigeria
Me: yes ma'am
VO: What does your he do?
Me: Na here devil come again oh... I go dey tell her say my uncle works in shell chevron haliburton and other
multinationals You need to see how this lady look me wen I finish my statement. Quickly nobody tell me the Bleep up...
I've to retrace... at this point I know I've done so much damage, I've to acknowledge and blame it on something. Quickly I
said sorry ma I've gone thru alot this morning still not myself... she said it's ok. And I corrected myself told her he actually
own companies that multinationals contract jobs to
VO: are you married?
Me: Yes
VO: do you have kids
Me: Just my son for now but my wife his pregnant for our second.
VO: Why are they not travelling with you?
Me: gave are the obvious reason.. Told her the international student coordinator has already agreed to issue them
dependent F2 form I 20 on the arrival of my baby to enable them apply for their visa to be with me

Na so the woman return my papers and said I will need them at the point of entry. And give me the white paper. Before I
say jack Robinson, she said next.. For my mind I was like abi this woman dey vex for the Visa she wan approve for me? I
just manage to say is that all... as if get strength to withstand more.. lol. She didn't even say I will be approving your visa...

Anyway all in all na God. At a point I was thinking of my next appointment, I just quickly refused it and made a vow
there and then that if i get the approval, I will give that money I was supposed to use for 2nd appointment to God.

To be honest I fumbled.... God directed my ways and he showed me that it's not me that merited it but him that wants to
show me favor and mercy.

WINSON4REAL
Good day nairalanders. This is my first comment on nairaland...in fact, I had to google how to comment on a post on
nairaland angry I'm not a regular person here majorly due to work and other Lagos stress but I just have to share this good
news on this forum.

I was introduced to this thread around July last year when I was denied for the first time in Abuja. The guy that even
introduced me to this thread said he only comes here to read people's comments and he has never posted anything here
before. This means that this thread is actually impacting even more people than you imagined.

My interview today was a success and I thank God and give Him all the glory for that. I'd also like to add that this thread
played very major role in this success story also....

Last year I applied for MSc in Computer science in two schools but none gave me admission. So my brother decided to
get me an admission for some other funny course and to make matters worse, it was for an Associate degree(not even
BSc) cry. I decided to try my luck, cos 9ja was getting increasingly frustrating but after trying twice in Abuja(July 8th) &
Lagos(August 11th), both didn't work out. I almost ran mad but when I saw people's transcripts, I knew that I didn't do my
homework very well.

Tried again this year and this time I got an admission in Information Systems. My interview was for 6:30am on Tuesday.
Got to the embassy by 5:19 and there was crowd already. Then went through the normal security checks, did the
necessary fingerprints process and was finally interviewed in gate 1.

Here's my transcript:
VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning sir
VO: Pass me your passport
Me: ***passes the passport to him***
VO: Where are you going to?
Me: Murray, Kentucky state
VO: Can I have your I-20?
Me: ***Passes it to him***
VO: What course are you going for?
Me: Information Systems
VO: What is your highest qualification right now?
Me: Bachelor's degree
VO: Bachelor degree in what course?
Me: Computer science

31
VO: Which other schools did you apply to?
Me: Oklahoma State university, Louisiana state university and also Prairie View A&M university
VO: So why did you choose Murray State university?
Me: I chose Murray State university because the curriculum aligns with what I want. Also because the class ratio is about
16:1 which gives me better access to my professors. And also Murray is a pretty safe state (Error!!! I was supposed to say
"town"wink and family-oriented....***VO cuts me***
VO: When did you finish your previous degree?
Me: November 2010
VO: Why did you wait that long... what have you been doing since then?
Me: I went for my NYSC in 2011and after then I started work as a software engineer in an IT firm in 2012, before moving
to an investment banking firm as a System Analyst in 2014.
VO: What are your jobs functions in your investment banking firm?
Me: I function as a system administrator. I also support all our core applications to ensure that all issues get resolved
within....***VO cuts me***
VO: I can see that you applied to Southern University Shreveport Louisiana before. Why did you change?
Me: ***At this point I was totally confused and didn't know where to start from. I finally put myself together and
responded thus***
Last year I was so busy with projects in the office so someone helped me out with all my admission application processes,
but it didn't quite work out. This time I did everything on my own from start to finish and I chose....***VO cuts me***
VO: Do you have a brother in Oklahoma?
Me: No, I have a brother in Louisiana.
VO: Have you paid your sevis fee?
Me: Yes I have
VO: ***Nodds his heads and said***....who is paying for your study?
Me: My mother
VO: What does she do?
Me: She's a construction engineer and she's also into real estate.
VO: ***Types on his keyboard for a while, while me I was anxiously and eagerly waiting to hear the golden news. He
finally said...***
Here's your I-20. Congrats, your visa has been approved. You can pick it up on Thursday.
Me: Thank you very much sir. smiley smiley
Instant joy overflowed in my heart.

Words cannot express how grateful I am for the many things I learnt from this thread. I want to thank all the gurus that
have taken their precious time to continuously give advices that would make people smile at the end of the day.... God
bless you real good!!!

I basically copied, compiled, read, studied, and re-compiled other people's successful transcripts, from July last year, to
suit my application and I kept on practicing all the questions and answers till it became part of me. I copied the transcripts

PURPLESUMMER
I wanted to share my transcript when I'm more relaxed but...I can't wait grin

I thought I'd have issues with my DS 160/ appointment page bar codes. I filled out a ds 160 for abj consulate and used the
confirmation number to book appointment for lagos. Lol. Anyway, I had it sorted out, ran to walspring and he allayed my
fears. Told me everything is fine.

So, I was the first person to arrive the lagos consulate at 5:10am. I didn't enjoy the wait though. One of the security guys
told me I look good and that if I could just add a smile to it...so I had it mind to smile even when I didn't feel like it
undecided

So after biometrics and all, we waited for the VOs to arrive. I was 3rd in line so I thought I'd be interviewed by the woman
in window 3 but nah, God had better plans for me. I and the 1st 2 persons were interviewd at window 7. The chubby white
guy.
He approved the 2 people before me. It was then my turn.

VO: so tell me about your programme

PS(PurpleSummer): oh, I'm going for my masters in law. I'd be concentrating on Environmental law.

VO: how did you get to know abt the school?

PS: they sent me a direct email

VO: (looks at me) why would they do that?

PS: (I smiled) they saw my profile on the Law school admission council website so they contacted me and encouraged me
to apply

VO: what courses would you be taking in your first semester

PS: I'd be taking courses on Energy Policy and Climate Change, Environmental Advocacy, Natural Resources Law, Toxic
Tort (I spelt T-O-R-T for him so he won't think I mean thought. Lol. Vo nodded like...I know it's tort) and International
Environmental Law.

VO: what was your undergraduate on?

PS: law

VO: When did you graduate?

PS: 2011

34
VO: what have you been doing since then?
PS: I attended the nigerian law school for one year, did my NYSC and since then I've been in active legal practice

VO: have you been called to bar?

PS: yes

When?
PS: 2012.

VO: (brings out white paper) I see you chose to collect your passport in portharcourt, (circles an address, handed me both
paper, i-20 and sevis fee receipt) you'll need these at the point of entry...blah blah, I said thanks, he thanked me too.
PS: walks out like a boss.

Ps: School is University of Maryland, Baltimore.

I want to thank every single person on this thread, I dedicate this success to you all. A huge dosage of the thanks goes to
walspring, Holudarey01, don4ye, bigfrancis21 (I gave him one helluva disturbance), OjaP, mystiqme (Your words were
both visionary and prophetic) mekurexx, baodium et al. God bless you all!

DELLAPI2
Hello guys. Got my visa approval today at the Lagos consulate, 6.30am batch. My interview was very very short. smiley
grin. Met the female V.O in window 3.
Got to the consulate by 5.45am and met a lot of people outside. Joined the queue for the nonimmigrant visas. Got inside
and did my biometric verification. Subsequently joined the queue for the V.Os as we waited for them. They eventually
arrived at 7.30ish. I was the second person to be interviewed by the V.O. A lot of F1 visas were issued before my turn.
Our conversation was as follows:
VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning ma'am
Asked me to pass her my passport, i20 and sevis receipt which I did

VO: What are you going to the US for ( started typing and glancing through my I 20 intermittently)
Me: I am going to the University of North Texas Health SC for my masters in public health and will be majoring in
environmental health (she nodded as she kept typing)
VO: What would you do when you return?
Me: I intend to work for the ministry of health in order to reduce the disease burden in Nigeria. Our country is ranked
among the highest with the incidences of diseases of public health significance such as malaria, tuberculosis and
HIV/aids.
VO: Where do you work currently?
Me: Told her my current job as a medical officer under the dept of public health.
VO: Who will be sponsoring you?

35
Me: My mom. Told her my mom's job. Also told her I have some personal savings. (She nodded and kept typing all the
while)

VO: Your visa has been approved... Hands me the white paper and my I 20 and sevis receipt.
I thanked her and left.

Honestly I was prepared for a lot more than this. No documents asked. No travel history though I have a schengen visa in
my passport. I feel those guys are really eager to issue visas to students.
Thank you so much guys for this thread. I really learnt a lot. And I also think the 6.30 am batch is really good. I had to
reschedule from 11 to 6.30am when I saw other people's transcripts. Above all trust and believe God. It's all by His Grace.

QHUTETOMSEL
Good afternoon guys.
Visa was approved this morning at the Lagos embassy.
I prayed for a short and swift interview and God granted it.
I got to the embassy with my Dad at exactly 5:10.
Some guys came to us to arrange our documents and all that,so they told us that my documents are not the right one that it
is supposed to be coloured.(I read here not to mind them, but popc no wan hear).we sha printed another copy online for
6k(they exploited us lyk crazy).
So around 6:30 they asked us to queue, after a while on the queue I checked my appointment slip and found out the guy
printed the wrong one(the first date I was given, before I changed it.. Fear catch me) I ran back to my dad, printed the
correct one (I was already under pressure) but I had enough time to regain my composure as the VO's arrived late around
7:20.

I was actually praying for the lady in window3(I heard she is cool. Lol)
But I ended up at window six, a young chubby white man attended to me.

VO: please excuse me for a minute, just stand here *dissapears to God know where and came back some seconds later* (
composed myself within that period)
He came back and said pass me your i20,international passport and sevis receipt.
Me: here it is sir, *with a smile*
VO: how did you know about the school?
Me: I got to know about the school through my counsellor, who counseled me for my SAT exam then.... VO cuts in

Me: my dad
VO: what does he do?
Me: he is the CEO of ************ company, manufacter of... *VO cuts in again*
VO: okay. Continued typing. And then asked have you paid for your sevis receipt
Me: yes sir
VO: (with a smile) I know I just want to confirm

36
And then I heard "collect your visa in three working days time.
Returns the i20 and sevis receipt, you will need this at the port of entry
When is your program starting?
Me:August 22nd
VO: you will not be allowed into the US until 30days to your start program.
And he said something about educationEAC bla bla bla... Handed me a white paper
Me:with a little smile, thank you sir!

No document was asked, God took perfect control,it was a really short one, I didn't spend up to 3minutes.
I was just too excited.
I really thank God for the favour he granted me and for the success.
Shout out to walspring, mekurexx and everyone on here for the advices given.
I impacted a lot from this thread within less than a month of following the thread. I wish other June applicant's success
and don't let all those guys there take advantage of you. They collected about 8k from us, they even collected money for
just parking our car.
All in all I thank God for the success.

VO: (laughs) So what made you choose Emory?
Me: During the course of my research, I discovered that Emory has the best global health department in the country. The

Whaaaaats up pple,
I wouldn't be doing myself any justice if I don't post my visa interview story! God went in with me and it was a nice and
short experience. All glory to God! Then many thanks to as many who posted their various visa experiences here (both
good n bad) and then to Walspring, who was always readily available to answer all my silly questions,God bless u big!
I'm a new member n only asked a question here just once and I've never applied for a visa except for SA, but my
experience shows that there is a God that answers prayers!
I woke as early as 4am and couldn't sleep any more! Drove into the embassy parking lot around 8:30am and joined the 1st
queue and by the 'moving-from-one-seat-to-another' queue, my heart was on fire. Thank God I saw an elderly couple I
knew, so I chatted with them and that calmed my nerves then we were called in to join the 'main' queue and so I tried not
to listen to other pple's interviews so I was turning around and studying the art work on the wall. Then I turned back
abruptly when I heard a 'masters' student answer badly ( as d answer stupid reach, I no fit even remember the question
sef), the VO's facial expression was like 'daaaaaaaamn undecided!
My pple, this is how my interview went down;
VO: hello miss Bleep
Me: good morning

45
VO: can I have your passport and I-20?
Me: passed it to her
(She naaaaa typed for ages and I was getting fidgety)
Then she finally asked,
VO: so you're going to the university of San Francisco?
Me: (didn't hear her well, so I said) sorry?
VO: she repeated herself
Me: yes
VO: what will this course do for you?
Me: it will give me the personal and professional development I need for my career when I return back to the country
Then she looked at me (as I innocent reach)
She put my passport aside and passed me a white form and said many things that my ears didn't let me hear again. My
heart was smiling but my face couldn't carry it.
So I said 'ok' but can't recall if I said thank you.
I spoke to a security guard and practically flew away and I kept saying 'God You are good'.

Today, I learnt a lot in just a short experience;

1) TRUST GOD TOTALLY
2) BE YOURSELF
3) KNOW WHY YOU REALLY WANT TO GO ABROAD (whether about the school, course or whatever is taking you
there)
4) DONT OVER-THINK IT, LET IT COME NATURALLY AND SPEAK LOUD AND CLEAR.
5) BE AS SIMPLE AS POSSIBLE YET ELEGANT
6) LASTLY, BE TRUTHFUL ( because somehow the VOs know)
7) DONT LOOK DOWN ON ANYONE (because today like 2 sets of pple that I saw making side comments about others
were not granted visa). Well I'm not saying it's a good thing but remember 'karma is a BITCH wink'. Be careful
So peeps I hope I didn't bore you with my story but rather inspired you.

I was only asked 3 questions; the whole interview was about 1.30 mins (less than 2 mins) and no document was asked
apart from my passport, though I gave him form 1-20 and servic confirmation with my passport

Advice:
Be yourself, be natural and be truthful especially at your interview and when filling your visa application form
Speak up and clearly
Dont over stress yourself but be prepare for any question, a question may lead to others

54
VO: Good morning
VO : Pass me ur documents

VO : (looked through my I-20)
ME: (Watching for about a minute or so)
VO: So what's your research topic?
ME: ( I didn't hear what she asked oo) What?
VO: (Asked again)
ME: (Stuttered a bit) I'm just going for a Masters Degree in Mathematics.
VO: Yeah, but you should have a research you'll be working on.
ME: (Wondering...research ke? Na wa ooo) Okay, I'll be working on Development of Mathematical Models that can be
used to solve real life problems, ranging from health to production and so on (I didn't plan for that because I don't have a
research, but I was very well prepared prayerfully. So I just said what came to my mind sha)
VO: (Nodding and typing very fast, also taking momentary CLOSE look at my I-20) Okay Okay. (Picked the white paper
and passed it to me with my I-20, then she said the usual stuff) You'll need this (I-20) at the Port of Entry
ME: (sincerely I thought she wanted to pick a blue paper because she had the highest denial before I got interviewed.
Infact, when the CGI told me I will be next to 'patronise' the woman, I just started hoping for the worst, but expecting the
best. Just like that? What did I say wrong? Now now? Was she in a hurry? I started wondering why this woman will not
allow me prove myself by at least asking more 'usual' questions. On seeing the white paper, mehhn, I just grabbed it with
my I-20 and rushed out before she'll change her mind, because I was asked just a question, which was about research.
Omo na case of answer one question, get one free visa oo. All thanks to God. After I initially got a TB, God vindicated
me. FAITHFUL GOD. Actually, I prepared very well and had the research topic for my mind but I am not going for a
research based course.

Goodmorning House. My visa was granted this morning . 7.30am Abuja. And that of my son's F2.I was interviewed by
the lady in window 7. She had denied everybody that went to her before I was granted. So it went like this....

VO: Passports and and I-20( she looks at her system then turns to me)

VO: Why did you stay 4 months in your last visit?

Me :I went to give birth to my 2nd child.

VO: did you inform immigration about your plans? (gave me a stern look)

Me: Yes I did. I landed at Chicago and told them specifically what I was there to do. ( plus my tummy was huge. No
amount of jacket for hide am).

VO: Can I see he's birth certificate?(gave her)

VO: but it's written Elpaso, why did you say Chicago?

57
Me: you asked about immigration. Not place of birth.
Chicago was my Poe .

Vo: Can I see your receipts? Gave her. Na so she see one discount talk say na charity o. Hmmm. I defended it with
everything within me. Told her i don't know about charity, but i was told self pay patients get an authomatic
discount.Regardless of whether you have the full amount. (She seemed satisfied).
VO: so which schools did you apply to?

Me: Brandeis university, Temple ,TAMU and UTA

VO: (she seemed impressed with the schools) and you
got into all these schools?
Me: No. Got a rejection from TAMU
VO : So why UTA

Me: Amongst the schools I got admitted to,UTA is the most affordable. It met my budget. Additionally, the Public
Administration program in UTA has my area of interest as a specialization, which is Economic Development and
Sustainable Management.
VO: What will you do after your Program?

VO : I will come back to work in the public sector, especially the department of public development mgt within the CBN
or the Ministry of women affairs and Social Development.

VO: (gives me an awkward look) So is that were you work now?

ME: No. I work with a commercial Bank. But my dream is to work with the CBN.

VO: who is paying?

ME: MY HUSBAND. He's a legal practitioner, and a .......with the .........And also the MD of ..........

VO: So who looks after the kids while your in

school, since your husband will be here?

ME: MY mother inlaw has a visa, my mum will be coming to get hers. So they will take turns to come and spend time
with us.
VO: (nods her head in agreement) Oh that's a very good plan.
VO: do you have family in Arlignton?
ME: No but I have in Elpaso.

58
VO: Ok I will be granting your visas.

At that point I wasn't even listening to other things she

kept saying. Only heard something about keep your hospital receipts for immigration.
The truth is this, I'm really bold when I talk. But, I wasn't at my best.Articulate And confident, yes! But I could hear the
nervousness in my voice. Plus my 3 year old son kept distracting me. I used the times she kept typing to put myself
together and gather momentum.

I posted this transcript basically for all the mamas planning to go study abroad. I was almost discouraged by some people
that told me it would be difficult for me to get it, because I will need to show huge sums, and my hubby won't be regarded
as a strong tie in Nigeria. I wasn't even asked to show statements, I didn't do well in my GRE so I was glad she didn't ask.
But my TOEFL was fine. Guys, preparation is key. Not craming. Just let it flow naturally. Goodluck to those waiting for
their interviews.

I am a silient follower of this thread. I did my interview this morning.
This my transcript. Hope it would help applicant.

VO- Good morning

Me- Good morning Sir, happy new month and happy independence in advance.

VO- Thanks, pass me your passport and I20 and Sevis

Me- Ok

VO- what Program are you going for

Me- Masters in public health with a concentration in Epidemiology

VO- why did you choose Public health?

Me- During my training during undergraduate, I realized if I want to become a clinical researcher, I would have to get a
master
Degree with a focus on research. So I applied to about 5 schools via Sophas.
VO- what Schools?
Me- University of illinois Chicago, University of Texas Houston, Indiana University, ETSU and GSU

VO- why IU?

Me- I noticed there is a research going on in the School of PH, The 'Jackson heart Study' and one of my faculty member is
among the principal investigator. I contacted him and was welcoming. He said I am welcomed to join is team.
I told the VO that having such experience would make me a principal investigator in the area of cardiology...

VO- did you write GRE?

59
ME- yes I wrote GRE and TOEFL

VO- checked GRE thoroughly and didnt check toefl at all. (My GRE score was actually above 300). He said my
documents are complete. And passed a white paper. To pick my visa in two days time.

Glory be to God. It was by Grace through faith.

My Recommendations
1) Be prayerful and trust God with all your plans. Once you have done that dont allow fear to penetrate, confess Gods
word regularly.
2) Make sure you are confident and well composed. Maintain eye contact throughout. ( was actually thought that during
clinical exams in med sch)
3) Get all your documents complete. Some were told to go back and get 5cm x 5cm passport

All the best.

Meanwhile it's the closest window to the waiting queue and the vo has only approved 2 out of about 10. Na em everyone

My transcript

Vo: Good morning

Me: Good morning ma
Vo: What do you do presently?
Me: I just completed my compulsory one-year national service in April this year.
Vo: Which other schools did you apply to?
Me: Texas A & M; kaust and IPS ( in uniport here in Nigeria)
Vo: How did you hear about the U.S schools?
Me: My UG course advicer, Prof **** told me about them. Specifically, he graduated from ***uni with concentration in
fluid mechanics and dynamics which happens to be my area of interest.
Vo: What did you study in your UG?
Me: Petroleum engr.
Vo: Why MEE for your Msc?
Me: During my UG i was fascinated by the mechanics of fluid flow and heat transfer, hence, i decided to concentrated on
them during masters. Petroleum or MEE offers me the chance to achieve that goal. ***uni don't offer petroleum so i
applied for MEE.
Vo: Have you read any course on MEE before?
Me: Yes! Fluid mechanics and heat transfer were courses i did during UG.
Vo: What will you do after graduation?
Me: I already have a job offer in my alma matter for graduating with first class, hence, i'll come back and take up the
offer. My course advicer is presently the only one in that field so i'll second him.
Vo: Have you paid SEVIS?
Me: Yes. The receipt is there with you under the I-20
Vo: When?
Me: Last month.
Vo: Who is paying?
Me: My uncle. He owns a steel company that is into fabrication and repair of overhead and underground steel tanks. Am
his favorite nephew and he's been sponsoring me since sec school.
Vo: Can i see his bank statement?
Me: Hands it over with his sponsorship letter.
Vo: Goes out with my SEVIS receipt, bank statement, and sponsorship letter.
Vo: Returns.
Me: Additional to my uncle's sponsorship, I also got a graduate research assistantship from the school. I have an official
letter for that.

61
Vo: Ok! You should have just told me you paid ur Sevis some days ago instead of last month (*me for my mind....na july
we dey soo)
Vo: Why didn't you go for the masters immediately after graduation?
Me: I needed time to study for GRE and TOEFL so i decide to serve within that same time and it paid off. (GRE=310;
TOEFL=105). The scores are among the reasons i got the assistantship.
Vo: Your SEVIS payment hasn't reflected on our system but am going to approve your visa. So i'll keep your passport and
we'll contact you about pick-up once the SEVIS is confirmed. Hands me over my docs and a small paper that lists things
i'll have/do before travelling.
Me: Happily perplexed...Thanked her and walked.

BOLAJI92
It was God, prayers and serious 7days fasting and prayer of myself, parent, sibling and fianc. I remember leaving Ghana
on Thursday Cos my interview was scheduled for Monday.
I got to the Lagos consulate office around 4:30am nah so one woman come meet me asking if I come for interview, after
replying her, she asked if I print all my documents In a coloured form and not in white and black, for my mind I know say
this woman wan dry my pocket, as she never knew I dey read naira land forum like daily bread. I just nod telling her say I
don hear. For her mind she go dey think say which wizard be this.

Anyway to the main business, enter the main gate and pass through security check, guys Nawa for them ooooo, I think say
Na white house Cos the level of security there is Whaoooo, after getting into the main building and after going through
the fingerprint with one Eyinbo woman, for my mind I think say them go seat us down to rest small before the interview.
Na so I see some Eyinbo moving into cubicle one after the other.
Na so fear grab my teeth and ass. I never dey shake for interview before but this one, nobody tell me before I start to dey
shake.

I was interviewed by a lady in cubicle 3.

VO:good morning
Me:good morning how are you. (she no even mind me, mean why she don deny 2 people before my turn)
Vo: pass Me your passport, i20,sevis receipt(I gently pass am dey look her face).
Vo:why this course?
Mesadlike say I get muscle pull for mouth, I was not myself for some seconds, Cos my heart was beating faster). I choose
this course Cos I want to impart positively into information technology in Nigeria and also want to add value to myself.
Vo:nod her head and I sense she is not convinced enough.
Me:I quickly rephrase it again that I choose this course and school Cos of the ongoing research and project titled "secure
atm using card scanning with otp and credit card fraud detection"(I continued). This project and research proposed a
secure atm using card scanning and majoly otp authentication during any withdrawal. For example in Nigeria most atm
machine are not otp enabled for withdrawal meaning if an attacker get hold of my card and pin, he can fraudulently check
my details and withdraw money from my account, but with this proposed research and project which enable otp features
for any account users during withdrawal. The attacker can only view the details but cannot make any withdrawal Cos otp
is sent to the user registered phone to complete any withdrawal. So with this research and project I will be able to solve
credit card fraud problem in Nigeria and contribute to development of IT sector in Nigeria.(during that time the Vo stop
typing and was concentrating seriously on me during my explanation.
Vo:who Is sponsoring you?

62
Me:my dad
Vo:what does he do?
Me:he is a successful estate consultant.
Vo:was now typing fast and after some sec,she reach to brought out one of the paper, this time my heart don almost cut, I
was about to faint when I see the white paper and with the Golden word saying "I will be approving your visa".
Me:my brain no even catch the rest of her word again, Na so I quickly take the white paper before she change am again.
I collect my other document and left, I for Don jump inside that place Cos I was so happy and it's my first attempt
applying for us visa.

Anyway what I will advise intending guys going for Interview is to be bold, Confident, although no be moi moi ooooo If
fear grab you for some time.
Also I notice if you have your own story like a friend of mine john-teye will say.
Don't follow the crowd, don't memorize and say all what they have heard over and over again, tell them your own version
story and if you can convince them. It will be a success story.

I was on heels and from the whole queue and queue and all I was exhausted and vexed. I think the vexation added more
confidence to me. Plus I kept singing the song "your grace is enough for me". (Ladies biko dun wear heel to your

I would be selfish if i dont post the transcript of my visa interview.
My interview was for 9.00 but i was eventually interview by a young lady at window 5 around past 10. The woman
actually gave the guy before me a denial, but i just trusted God that i would not be denied. As the guy left and i was about
stepping forward, the woman asked for permission to leave, and she left for about 5-7 minutes. I was just praying that i
should not be redirected to the other VO guy at window six, who had been denying everybody visa (as far as i know). The
woman eventually came back and this was how my interview went.
Me: Good Morning
VO: Morning
VO: Where are you going to in the US?
Me: I am going to Montana State University
VO: What do you want to go and do?
Me: I am going for a Masters in Mathematics at Montana State University
VO: What did you do in your bachelors degree?
Me: I had my bachelors degree in Mathematics
VO: What year did you finish school?

VO: (She made an expression of surprise on her face). What made you qualified for this scholarship?
Me: The school was impressed with my statement of purpose, my transcript and my GRE score. In addition, i also had a
Skype interview with two professors in the department (i mentioned the names of the professors)
VO: What did you have in your GRE?
Me: I had 150 in verbal, 159 in quantitative and 4.0 in analytical writing. (She then asked me to pass my GRE score,
which she looked at)
VO: How many schools did you apply to?
Me: I applied to IIT, FIT, MSU and New Mexico Institute of Tech.
VO: What made you choose MSU?

my mathematics courses without having to spend more than two years. I also have a senior colleague and friend in the
school who is also a graduate student who spoke highly of the school.
VO: Okay, i would be approving your visa, make sure you ................. blah blah blah cheesy cheesy cheesy

there in the us), was scared and hoping for the worse.
VO: good morning ( was surprised he even greeted me and smiled)
Me: good morning, how was your night? ( smiling back)
VO: very well thank you ( sounding surprised)
Pass me your documents
How did you get to know this school?
Me: I used the internet to Google for a credible school that has a good math program
69
VO: what did u study for your undergraduate degree
Me mathematics
Vo: what university?
Me: Bowen university
VO: how many schools did u apply to?
Me: 5 schools
VO: mention them
Me: west Virginia university morgantown, Louisiana state university, baton rouge

PHOEBUS
Although I've been a silent reader here for some months, I believe now is the time to share with y'all my testimonies grin

I applied all by myself to Oregon State University mainly because the program I chose does not require me to write GRE
smiley (although I was still considering applying to two more when I received my admission letter from the dpt I applied
to and never bothered...). Then, I started processing my I20 and by mid April, I was ready to appear at the US Consulate. I
was scared at first cos of the 120 days rule but summoned courage and showed up during the last week of the month
because I still had loads of preparation to complete (vaccines to take, flights to book, e.t.c).

After trekking endlessly on that fateful Tuesday for the 11 am appointment, as I lost my way earlier, I arrived in time to be
checked in with other applicants. Upon entering, I was directed to to the biometrics section; thinking the interview had
begun already, I started fidgeting until the black man in the glass tried to calm me down and instructed me to gently
located the hole and pass my documents. With that done, I proceeded to the line where I started hearing all sorts of replies
from applicants that got them the blue paper from Vos angry Well, it got to my turn and I landed right in front of one of
the Vos that doled out more blue papers. She was fast about it:

Vo: Good morning (smiling) Can I have your passport please?

Me: (Passed my passport) Good morning.

Vo then scans it, asked me to pass other documents (I20 and sevis receipt) and told me to place my fingers on the scanner.
After that...

Vo: How did you hear about this school?

Me: (Now relaxed, looking into her eyes, confidence back in place wink, replied) Actually, the director of the NGO I
volunteer with recommended Oregon State and Texas Women University. **(I learnt this vital part from NL and I quickly
brought it in at this point so as to save the vo from asking me how many schools I applied to, and it worked sha cheesy)

Vo: What is the name of this NGO again? (She must have asked because I didn't include it in my application)

Me: (Mentions the name sharply)

Vo: (after typing for few seconds, looks at I20 again, and asked) Why this course, Women Studies?

Me: You see, this course has been area of interest to me all my life; I am passionate about it, I've volunteered for an Ngo
about it, and I want to build a career in this area. (I replied smiling)
71
Vo: (smiling and nodding her head, she types for seconds and asks the unexpected) What is your research area of interest?

Me: (at this point, the kindda look she gave me was one like she was expecting me to fumble! but I no slack oo! grin I
quickly picked one of my favorites subject in the curriculum and said) I would be researching on the systems of
oppression in women's lives, especially those affecting women in Nigeria thereby rendering us useless.

Vo: (quite convinced, while nodding and smiling again, she then types for a longer time and asked like she almost
forgot...) when did you graduate Uni and What did you studied?

Me: 2014, History

Vo: (she then started telling me how from nowhere, what I studied fits what I'm going for .... ) Who is sponsoring you and
what do they do?

Me: My mum, she is a businesswoman.

Vo: Typing for the last time and telling me how willing she is to approve my visa, She hands over the white sheet to me
and immediately left her presence before she changes her mind grin

*** That settled, I focused on my GTA search and chase (see that school is one of the most expensive state university I've
found but my dear self did not check their tuition before entering gbege ooo) in good faith and not relenting even after the
graduate advisor told me they have distributed all the GAs they have sad I still continued all my preparation in hope that I
would go look for some jjob or scholarships upon my arrival cos the exchange rate kept devaluing my savings undecided

Alas!!! God had a pleasant surprise for me already grin After reminding the graduate advisor and one other in the dpt
about my bid for GTA and how having me in mind if any opens would go a long way, I finally received a full GTA offer
last month, after praying and fasting fervently wink for two months!

I count myself indeed lucky: applied to one school, got admitted, got my visa, got a full assistantship (Tuition waiver with
stipends), and would be attending a very good school in USA, all with ease! It is only God's doing and leading and most
importantly, putting one's all in the preparation. Also, be FOCUSED (learn to have a mind of your own) and stay
POSITIVE! I never allowed anyone to talk my plans down; from going to the embassy early, not minding the 120 days
rule which has aided my purchase of a very cheap flight before the dollar hike, to remaining strong knowing one thing
must work out...

This is my story, and I hope you learn one or two things from reading

HEYLIE

necessary checks and enter as I was on que I witnessed approval and denial I sharply analyze reason for approval and
denial, and I set my answers accordingly.

V.O(typing not as fast as I expected tho) why did you chose this school, (I was so happy because I already prepare my
solid answer so I asked her to repeat herself, and she did)

Me: I chose NU because they offer experiential and cooperative education program which integrate class room experience
into real world (she stopped typing and kept looking at me straight in the eyes) connecting me with professionals and
experts in my field of study also I'm interested in the research on going in the university which is centered on security and
it's area of investigation includes, database security, cryptography, network security, database administration etc as an IT
professional you need to know how to implement high security policy for your any organization you work for, (she nod#)
I knew I nailed it here.
V.O: what do you wanna do with this
Me; I'll like to work at top organization in Nigeria or atrnatively exterblishing my own IT consultancy firm where I will
help people solve specific business problem using IT.

V.O who's paying for dis

Me: my dad

V.O: what does he do,

Me: he's a civil engineer he has worked for J*** and now he's has he's own construction firm.

V.O pick up your VISA bla bla bla. You'll need this I20 at the POE.

I give God all the glory...

I am so happy and grateful to God for approving my student visa today at Abuja, 7:30am appointment. Grace is real. I can
vividly remember how scared I was preparing for this interview and God whispering "Be calm, relax and trust me". This
statement kept me at ease while I did my homework and sure kept me relaxed while in the Consulate.

So here is how it all went down:

I arrived by 6:30am, met a good number of people. I saw a seat, and wanted to sit on it and the lady told me it was N100,
laugh wan kill me die.
I then stood and waited with other applicants. At around some minutes past 7, we were called for security checks. We
were asked to provide our appointment letters, no bags, no mobile phones. After that we were allowed to enter the
compound and trek down to the office. I was the third person on the queue but my passport was rejected because my hair
covered my forehead a bit. I still remained calm and found my way out. Took the passport outside the gate and got back
in. My passport was finally accepted and I went further for my biometrics. Then joined the queue for the interview.
Hmmmmm, alot of people were declined visa oo while a few got approved. When I was finally in front of the queue, my
heart skipped but I tried to regain my composure. I then heard, "next applicant to the window 8 please". I walked up to the
VO smiled and said 'Goodmorning'

I smiled all through the interview (I'm a "smiler", so it was really natural) while the VO kept giving me a stern look. We
kept looking at each other eyeball to eyeball through out.

VO: Good Morning, can i have your passport please

Me: I handed it over
VO: your i-20
Me: did same
Vo: So why did you choose USF
Me: Well, because I was able to get in contact with one of the professors, Dr Luu, whose research interest aligns with
mine which is Cancer Epidemiology
VO: ok
what was your undergraduate major
Me: Microbiology
VO: what is Mitochondria used for?
-(hian, i never expected this question, not even in my wildest dreams)
Me: sorry?
Vo: Mitochndria what is it used for?
Me: It is used for internal respiration in the cell ( I quickly tried to recollect my undergraduate days in the lecture hall)
VO: he repeated same question
Me: i repeated my answer
Vo: Where is the mitochondria found?

75
Me: In an animal cell
VO: What do you do currently?
me: I am currently unemployed
vo: Have you travelled outside of Nigeria before?
me: yes, i have been to Dubai
Vo: How do you want to fund your masters program?
me: My father is sponsoring
VO: what does your father do?
Me: He is an ... been into private practice for ...yrs. And his company is also into consulting and manufacture of...
Vo: do you have your father's bank statement?
Me: yes
Vo: Can i see them
Me: handed dem ova( naira and US statements, with a deposit in the latter)
vo: why is dere a small amount of money on this one and a huge deposit on the other
Me: It is not my personal account, it is my father's account, so i wouldnt know
Vo: checked the papers again and said ' Savings accumulate over a period of time, why is dere a huge deposit of money on
this one'
Me: like I said, it is not my personal account, it's my dad's account
Vo: what's the mascot of the university?
Me: ( I taught he said masters) I am going for a masters degree in Public health
Vo: Mascot, what's the symbol of the Mascot
me: Oh! It's a bull ( Involuntarily used my thumbs to signify the horns as i answered)
Vo: Goes and picks a white paper and started talking and pointing at it
Me: I went blank, I couldnt hear a thing anymore. I had to touch my ears and told him " I cant hear you"
VO: I said, Your visa has been approved blah blah blah
Me: I rejoiced and thanked him, was about leaving, then he called me back and handed another smaller white sheet of
paper to me
VO: This contains what you should know and expect at your port of entry blah blah blah Good luck
Me: I thanked him and he watched me rejoice as i left

My visa was approved Thursday, 6:30 a.m appointment. I was interviewed at Window5, and the interview lasted between
2-3 minutes. It was so quick that people with short attention span wouldn't notice what transpired between the VO and me.
The VO at this Window didn't ask his interviewees the generic questions like that. " What is the program requirements,
and tell me about the program", were his next statements after greeting you. I noticed other VOs were asking almost the
same questions, so I concluded that they had met to come up with this alien questions. The VO denied the guy he
interviewed immediately before me because he didn't know the program requirements and couldnt say any a salient thing
about the program. He bothered the VO a bit in his repeated attempts to drive home a point. Struggling to redeem his
losing battle, the guy incoherence and inconsistencies ironically grew worse, and frustration was all over him. Worse still
he was not concealing his disappointment (actions and interjections were too obvious). May God save us from calamities.
After he was overwhelmed, he resorted to begging and delaying tactics of asking to repeat a clear and loud question. The
VO beckoned to me to step forward after he ultimately told him to reapply for visa whenever he knows his program well.
I tarried for a bosses, waiting for the guy to please himself.

VO: GOOD MORNING (encouraging countenance, he just came back from a battle)
ME: GOOD MORNING,SIR
VO: HOW DID YOU ABOUT THE SCHOOL?
ME: internet, I searched for top 100 universities for my program. Another question cut me short.
VO: WHAT'S THE PROGRAM ALL ABOUT?
ME: I will do course work, research work and there is an international exchange program to either China or Switzerland.
VO: WHO IS YOUR SPONSOR?
ME: My father
VO: WHAT DOES HE DO?
ME: He is a structural engineer, has a construction company where he builds caponies for gas and petrol stations( my fairy
tale was interrupted)
VO: TAKE THIS........( I don't know the rest because I was inattentive now)

Gratitude to God? Definitely YES.

Gratitude to Nairalanders? YES. The weak and powerful ones, no veterans, novices, wannabes and scammers.

BASQUIATTTT
Hello guys,
Today was my interview, 15th July, 2016. 9am.

Transcripts:
77
VO: Good morning, may I have your passport and I-20.
Me: Passed it over.

VO: why did you choose Arkansas Tech University?

Me: I choose ATU because it provides me a track under my Masters in Information Technology where I can focus on my
specialty which is computer networking.
Also, I choose ATU because it's has a Cisco Networking Academy where I can concurrently pursue my professional
certifications in the Computer network in which I can further pursue there.

VO: What schools did you apply to?

Me: Cleveland State University, Shippensburg University, Portland State University, Southern Arkansas University &
Arkansas Tech University.

VO: Who's sponsoring you?

Me: My mom.

VO: *picks up two white papers*

I didn't even hear what she was saying again. Ahead Ahead!

Thanks to all the good people here.

Tips: Be sure of yourself, forget who's dishing out denials (most people don't know why they're there and no VO just
wants to deny you a visa, they want intelligent responses that hold water), be willing to do your homework regarding
possible questions. The way you answer the first question sets the tone of the interview. It's very okay to be nervous as
you approach the VO but take a deep breath and believe you're not there to answer to man. You there because God has an
ultimate plan for you and this is just a piece to the puzzle.

God bless people.

My visa was approved on tuesday.I'm really very sorry for posting this late transcript. While i was celebrating the victory i
broke my phone screen.I had to fix it first so i could be able to access nairaland as i didnt even remember my p/w.
The grace of the almighty God was at work in my life that fateful day. I have been following nairaland since february. I
started reading from thread6 and when it was time to start my application, there was no need to start asking any questions
as i have gained alot.

Fastforward to the day of my interview. I did all the necessary stuffs, biometrics and all. I was on the queue and i heard
STEP FORWARD PLS. There was this particular VO that was on a denying streak that day. He didnt waste any time at
all and was very quick to say sorry your visa has been denied. He denied the young girl before me even as her mum talked
and talked to convince the VO. He beckoned and i stepped forward.

V.O Good Morning

Me Good afternoon sir

V.O Oh! that's true. Good afternoon

V.O Ok now. Just tell me your name,when u finished high school,your plans,where you're going,your course and
evrything i need to know
just keep talking.

Me *at this point my confidence level dropped drastically cos i wasnt expecting all those questions at a stretch* My name
is bleep.I finished my high school in 2003. I did a year diploma program in computer studies at the computer science dept
of OAU. Between 2006-2008 i went to the maritime academy of nigeria for a two year diploma program in nautical
science. I embarked on an Industrial training for a year at a shipping company. After the IT i started working with them as
a full staff. I Will be going for a Bsc program in computer science at the university of minessota *Mind u, my voice was
shaking all thru and i was stuttering. I lost my composure and had already given up*

V.O How long have u been working.

Me Five years as an assistant database administrator *he shook his head and gave me a stern look*

V.O Who's going to pay for your education.

79
Me My dad. i come tell am wetin my papa dey do.

V.O Congrats. your visa has been approved *at this point i became deaf* i grabbed the white paper and dashed out.

I didnt believe it.it was like a dream.while i was on the BRT i kept checking my bag if it was the blue paper cos i knew
there was nothing i said or did that impressed the VO. God just favored me. He didnt ask about the school, course or if i
wrote any standardized test(i wrote only TOEFL tho). I thought my age would be a red flag as i'm 29yrs old.

There was a time someone here said nigerians always attribute their success to an invisible being. No vex brother, but
some of us here dont trust in our own power. GOD IS REAL.
i surrendered everything to him and i was not put to shame.
WHY NOT TRY GOD

ORMORTEEY
AlhamduliLLAAH. Grateful to all the bosses who helped with answering questions, providing insights and posting their
interview transcripts.

Also, I'm sorry for pasting my transcript quite late, my eyes just dey clear as I just dey remember the interview clearly.
Confama, Walspring dan talk am before, it could take days before the bleary thoughts of the interview become lucid.

My interview was on July 14th, 2016 1:15pm.

Pre-interview note: Having not had enough time to go through the lots of transcripts here, I wasn't that confident but I
knew laughter, a warm face and huge smile can hide the fear so I planned using the trick. Immediately I finished with the
bio-metrics, I started the trick but my heartbeat just dey skip one after the other as I dey calcu which VO go interview me.
One of the VOs was just sharing blue like Christmas gift. I shapaly make am prayer point and started listening to what
questions he was asking. A gurl was directed to the VO and she immediately started folding her laps signalling she wants
to pee. The lady directing us told her even if she goes to heaven and come back, she will still be interviewed by the same
VO, na zo she begin beg but the lady no gree. This was where I noticed most of the VOs are psychologist of some sort.
Before you get to them they've probably made their decision with your composure while standing on their counter number
pasted on the floor awaiting them to call on you to step up. You are stepping up to the counter to either affirm or disaffirm
their judgement. Please always show confidence at this point. The 'pee' gurl came back and was interviewed by the same
VO, the guy just free her after small questioning. He probably noticed the drama. Na me the yeye lady push go there next.
I almost pee but my smile ehn! no be here o, me sef dey wonder if I inhale modicum amount of laughing gas for the
contiguous smile.

ME: Hello, Good morning sir (with my glowing smile)

VO: Hey, what a huge smile! Good morning, please pass me your i20, sevis and passport.

ME: Here you go sir (my smile dan increase as my heartbeat dan dey settle small small)

VO: New Mexico State University, Are there Nigerians in this state?
80
ME: Yes sir, I know of at least two Nigerians studying there sir.

VO: How ?

Me: I checked the People section on my departmental website after receiving the admission decision and I found two
Nigerians there.

VO: Wow! No wonder you've got a huge smile, I can see you've got a a full ride.

Me: Yes sir

VO: So what other schools did you applied to?

Me: NMSU, MIT, Imperial College and Emory.

VO: Hmn! My wife went to emory, it's a lovely school, why didn't you go to emory?

ME: I didn't get a full ride.

VO: Oh! I see. So how did you secure this funding

ME: I think the admission committee was impressed. My research experience likewise my test scores were way beyond
the requirements. I modeled 12 NACA Aeroplane wing sections in my senior thesis and my results showed ... (VO cuts
in)

VO: Ok, please pick up your visa here bla bla bla

ME: Thank you sir.

Hello Good people
I am sorry for posting my transcript late, I have been having problems logging in.
Visa was approved on July 13 in Lagos.
Don't let me bore you with unnecessary story.
Interviewed by the lady in window7
VO- pass me your documents( types), which courses will you be taking?
Me- I will be taking courses in environmental. Chemistry, instrumental analysis, data management, statistical
thermodynamics, organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry.
VO- How many schools did you apply to?
Me- 4, Tennessee tech, university of Tennessee Knoxville, Michigan Tech and university of Rhode island and they all
offered me admission.
VO- why Tennessee tech?
Me- I chose this school because their strong point is in environmental remediation which aligns with my interest. I will
have the opportunity to work at the interdisciplinary centre for utilization of waste where I will have hands on experience
about waste management, treatment of wastewater for reuse, removal of pollutants from the environment, etc.
VO- I will be approving your visa bla bla bla

83
I think Tennessee tech has the lowest ranking among the schools I applied to but I was able to tell the vo why I chose it.
Would have gone to UTK though but their faculties are not into what I really wanna do.

Thanks to everyone here for the tutelage, God bless.

Special thanks to SirRiddy, GboyegaD and Lagosismyhome.
I wanted to give up but here I am today.
Stay positive.
Cheers.

Vo separated my passport and confirmation page from my I-20.

101% I just dey walk like Van damm, being that no traffic on 3rd mainland bridge I got to Obalende around 10am and
boarded Napep going to Adeola Odeku, I thought I knew lagos until today, I missed bonny camp and I landed at idejo
street in V.I. I had to follow the Napep back to Bonny Camp then I alighted; I went to pass the India Embassy side which
is longer compared to the car park side. I trekked so teytoday na today..While trekking towards the embassy, all those
business guys have been meeting me to stapple my document together, staple my photo to my Document..i just dey
laugh..for my mind I was likee una wan scam a nairalander..I just laughed and said I am okay. I got to the embassy proper
at exactly 11am for a 1pm appointment, the security told me to queue, I was the only one on the queue, gradually people
started coming for 12pm appointment, like around 11:20am, a CGI guy came to take us in ( 1pm,12:45pm and 12pm
appointments). We all went through verification and they gummed a tally to our passports. People plenty for that hall o,
roughly like 70 or more.. Practically 95% of us were Student Visa category.A guy didn't even sign his i20 until a guy
sitting beside him told him to and he faced back to confirm from me wehter to sign the i20, another guy didn't now what
they call sevi fee receipt until the cgi guy showed him and the guy left to God now where and came with it..i was like
haven't these guys heard of nairaland? At exactly 12:10pm (My appointment was for 1pm but all of us entered together)
we entered the embassy proper for finger print..at this point I actually thought the interview has started, No White man or
woman in sight, the people in the glass cubicle were all blacks (4 ladies) and I was like..ope oooo..at least my fellow black
go dey lenient. As I was on the queue the first guy was done in like 30secs..and I was like this interview fast o. Suddenly I
saw a white man take his sit in one of the cubicle by the left side, then it dawned on me the real thing has not started and
my heart started beating fastmehn..Now the interview started and I queued for my turn..there were 4 VO in total (3
males and 1 female). The first VO that came drilled one man for like 8mins, the VO left to verify something and still came
back to drill him more..but the man no shake o..Luckily he got his Visa Approved. At this point I didnt want the VO that
drilled the man. The female VO interviewed one guy and the guy was giving a nairaland type of intelligent answers but he
was talking as if he was reciting memory verses..( The Vo asked him What courses he will take, why this program and
school, the guy answered well), As I done hear the questions I was praying to be interviewed by her but God has a better
plan. when the VO approved his visa, the guy started praying for the VO o..The guy even jumped and hugged the CGI
guy arranging us infront of the VOs..(me I was just like mehn..This is hot seat..i was just thinking about my 48K.. the
devil just dey put different thoughts for my mind). Another Vo was interviewing a lady and the lady was making so much
sense then suddenly the Vo asked her how she got a community scholarship and she said me and the scholarship
organization had an agreement (When I heard that I was like she don f up, I was expecting her to say her great result or
test or something) but suddenly she twisted it that they had an agreement for her to come back and impact the knowledge
she gains from the USA in her communitythen I was like..okay thats cool (Hometie) I dont now whether she got the
Visa or not cause I switch my attention to a young lady that said she is going to bla bla Community College (I just heard
community college didnt hear the name) mehn I knew she wont get the Visa..lo and behold she didnt.Gbam..it was
my turn (I just told God let your grace be sufficient for me). I was directed to the Male VO that Drilled the first man,, so I
85
queued at the back of a guy I think is @gentledoj (@gentledoj you are going to a school in North Carolina Right? If yes I
think where you need to work on is your employment stuff, I think the VO asked when you graduated and you replied and
he asked what are you doing and you said you are unemployed. I am not sure but I believe this is what I heard..dont give
up..ask people for advice hear and weigh your options, you can still refire I think and be ready to explain betterthe race
is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong..chase your dreams brother). Now the VO beckoned on me to come and I
stepped forward..

VO- Good Afternoon, How are you doing?

Me: Good afternoon I am fine, thank you
Vo: Ok tell me about yourself, what you are doing, where you studied..just everything (I was thrown off balance but I
tried to start)
Me: I graduated from Civil Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, I am a civil engineer working with CMB
Building Construction ltd (my right leg just dey shake like agama lizard but I didnt let it show..Its actually CMB Building
Maintenance and Investment Limited). And I am going for my Masters in Civil Engineering at University of North
Carolina Charlotte. (I just stopped even though from home I planned to go further to my intended research and who I will
be working with and the courses I will take)
VO: What do you do presently?
Me: I work with CMB bla bla as a Civil Engineer
VO: What does your parent do? ( I wasnt even expecting this, I was expecting the normal why this program, Why UNCC

question)
Vo: Where?
Me: He is self-employed, he own a company of his own

Them Vo started typing and I was just looking..then he picked a paper from the top shelf or so..i was wearing a glasses so
the paper was looking like blue then White then Blue then White then blue then white then blue then white..I just cant
ascertain the color the Vo just said Pick up your Visa bla bla..I felt like I was alone in the world..my ears went deaf..I just
walked out and I started singing to God The transcript might seem long but trust me it wasnt up to a MinEverything
went so fast at the speed of Light..No single document was asked..Did GRE ..Did TOEFL

Advice to prospective applicant..Read a lot of transcripts (I downloaded the pdf approved and delayed visa transcript and I
also have a screen grabs of 98% of all the visa approved this Fall)..Be truthful, Apply to accredited schools, apply
yourself..Dont use agent..This cant be over-emphasised..Fill the DS 190 form yourself and read it well before submitting,
imagine, I made a mistake of putting a wrong state of birth..if I didnt read it for like 2 days I wouldnt have known..and
God bless me the Vo suddenly asked and I say the right one not knowing I filled a wrong stateand above all Pray and
trust God..I fasted for 3 days mehn.

Thanks to @Walspring for my I20..this guy saved me about 15k I would have spent on eshipglobal oshi..Imagine paying
about $106 for shipping i20 to Nigeria in this economy..Wale I pray God bless you beyond measures and your
imagination, hes always ready to answer my foolish questions, Thanks to @Cutemorgan and @onyembu2013, this guys
were always there to answer my stupid questions (even though I knew the answers but I cant allow visa fee of 48k and
sevi fee of 72k to waste, so I need to be uber sure), See you at the top brothers. To @sirriddy I will always thank you, you
86
inspire me..May God bless you. And to @motifoluwasolami, thanks for your encouragement, your own day of glory will
come soon just keep pushing, we cant give up. To @imperiouxx i admire you alot, if i were in your shoes i honestly dont
think i will still come here to give advice after finishing my masters and working.. guess you are an inspiration to some of
us..keep advising us and may God reward you. To the whole nairaland thank you guys for the laugh, info and advice..Lets
do better than the Indians.................................................................

EKOFISK
Late Post: 11:00 AM Slot. Lagos Consulate

Status: Approved

Duration: 3 4 Minutes

I started reading from Part 4 and I believe theres more than enough information for anyone as regards US-Visa Interview.
Albeit, its important I share this overdue experience.

I tried as much as I could to be loud and exude boldness though my heart was pounding very fast (Nervousness is
permissible). I was expecting a more private interview zone based on the YouTube videos I watched. Anyway, I
practically lost cognizance of the fact that people were listening during the course of the interview.

VO: Good Morning

Ekofisk: Hello, Good Morning
VO: Why are you going to the US?
Ekofisk: Im heading to the US for my masters degree in Petroleum Engineering at TTU.
VO: What do you do?
Ekofisk: I provide research support for Dr. X (VO Cuts-in)
VO: Whats the research about and whats your role?
Ekofisk: Fluid Characterization and EOS modelling of PVT Experiments. My role is to provide research support by
reviewing published literatures, software simulation of PVT experiments, Sourcing for PVT data of characterized fluid
samples from Niger Delta fields amongst other sundry activities.
VO: Whats the field of this research?
Ekofisk: Petroleum Engineering
VO: Do you have a BSc.

88
Ekofisk: Yes I have a BSc. in Petroleum Engineering
VO: What will you do with your degree?
Ekofisk: Ill come back to Nigeria to work as a Petrophysicist or Reservoir Engineer
VO: (Stops typing and stares right at me)
VO: Is that a smart decision given all the issues. (I had to cut-in because I knew what she was driving at. Its either the
recent attack on oil installations or the slump in crude oil price. I tackled the latter)
Ekofisk: Absolutely, its a smart decision. I expect that in 2 years the price of crude will have improved and stabilized.
The industry has experienced price slumps through history so Im not going to make a career decision based on the
existing market situation. Also, I can always focus on research and academia. (I was ready to keep on talking but she
started typing again so I had to stop.)
VO: Who is sponsoring you?
Ekofisk: My Guardian.I noticed that she hasnt looked at the I-20 so I added the fact that I got a scholarship that
qualified me for instate tuition. (I didnt plan to say this).
VO: Types for two minutes or thereabout...Your Visa has been approved. Pick it up in three days.
Ekofisk: Alright, thank you!

So, I woke up by 3am, prayed to God and started preparing for my interview at 9:30. My dad was going towards Lekki so
he dropped me @ the embassy, saw those sharp embassy guys @ the entrance, trying to break the windscreen in other to
get me to snap passport or staple my passport on my docs. I totally ignored the guys like plague and chilled till it was time
to call the 9:30 appointment time crew. Along the line, I was sent back to go drop my flashdrive, which I didn't know was
on me. Went back and threw the flash somewhere and rejoined the queue. Got in, passed all the screening exercise and
was on interview queue. Actually, I wasn't praying for any window, but the VO in window 9 was just sharing blue paper
like gifts. I kept my chill. Finally, I heard next and went straight to window 4. The following conversations occured.

Me: Thank you.

My take on this process:

1. For me, God was the front-man in all my preparations... I trusted Him for favor and grace; and He proved faithful. I
prayed earnestly and kept faith. So I found uncommon confidence and comportment. My thought and speech during the
interview was with precision and clarity.

2. You have to be thoroughly prepared. I can't recount the sacrifices of time and finances that went into my preparation.

92
3. There is no need for desperation. I started my journey in 2013 if you care to know... Anything worth doing is worth
doing well...be patient with your self and be assured that your best has been put into it. Then, keep trusting in God!

4. NairaLand is One-stop shop for any information required for a successful application & interview; to say the truth, I
became addicted to NL... I reviewed and analysed almost every transcript shared on this platform. May God bless You
guys and make our journey a most rewarding one!

KAPITAIN
Visa Approved on Monday @ Abuja.
Woke up repeatedly between 2 o'clock and 4:30, like about 10 times. (I no wan miss my Interview oo) grin. Finally woke
up by 4:30 and said a short thank you prayer. Listened to a few songs and entered Nairaland. I arrived the embassy some
minutes past 7. My interview was scheduled for 7:30. THe Husslers rushed me and started preaching. These guys wan
chop my N1500, that my passport is not 2*2. I come check everybody own come see say my own dey different. I come
fear small, lock up shaa. They were discouraging me that I'll be sent back. One guy use reverse psychology say make I go
try and come back to them if i'm sent back. I passed the first security and was happy I scaled through. I jammed another
document check and scaled through. I knew angels dey for my front (in phynos voice).

VO: Good morning, Pass me your I20.

VO: So why NCAT?
Me: Because of the ongoing research by Dr. Gary lebby on Biologically Inspired Energy and Engineering Systems. Also,
the University has an Agric and BioEnergy farm which uses a Biogas Plant designed and maintained by the Electrical
Engineering Department. I will be learning how to build and maintain this biogas plants 'cos I plan to build and supply
this plants to Institutions when I come back after my studies.
VO: What's your program?
Me: Masters in Electrical Engineering.
VO: Explain how the Biogas plant works?
Me: It involves the anaerobic decomposition of organic wastes from pigs, cattle and birds to produce Methane and Carbon
dioxide. These gases are used for lighting and heating.
VO: Who's sponsoring you?
Me: My Uncle
VO: What does he do? Me: He supplies and distributes petroleum products.
VO: Types, then looks up. From my Findings , biogas studies in under Biological Engineering? Why did you say
Electrical?
Me: I studied Electronic Engineering as my first degree, so I decided to Apply to Electrical Engineering. Also the research
by the Dr. Gary Lebby in Electrical Engineering exactly aligns with my career goals.
VO: Did you write any Exams?
Me: Yes, I wrote GRE and TOEFL.
VO: Let me see your scores.
Me: Shows him the scores.
VO: Which universities did you apply to?
Me: LSU, IIT, NJIT and NCAT
VO: Typing furiously, then looks up again. It doesn't rhyme with what I have on your score card. Which universities did
you send your scores to?
94
Me: NCSU, TAMUK, NJIT and LSU (Note: NCAT is the least ranked of all these schools). But I applied to only LSU
and NCAT and NJIT.
VO: Why didn't you apply to NCSU?
Me: Cos their TOEFL cut off was 92,and I scored 91. So i decided to apply to another school.
VO: Have you been to the US?
Me: No I haven't.
VO: Why didn't you apply for visa last year?
Me: I wrote my exams in October and November, then applied thereafter. I got my i20s this year. I paid my Sevis after I
got my I20s, then paid my Visa fee and applied for Visa Interview.
VO: When exactly did you apply to each of these schools?
Me: I applied to NCAT and LSU last year, and NJIT and IIT this year.
VO Leaves for a minute to cross check the scores? (Note: I wrote my ETS username and password to my GRE and
TOEFL accounts on the score sheet - A trick I learned on NL)
VO: Comes back and stares at me for a while. Types and then utters the "I'll be granting your visa..."
Me: Was just staring at him, blanked out (Thought this blanking out na joke oo). I just said thank you when he slid my I20
and the white papers.
I walked out of the embassy keeping a straight face. All those securities and Husslers will be like this guy no make am.
Inside my heart was just singing "Chineke Nna emegokwa nwa Nairaland Ezege"
Got back to my lodge and viewed the white papers very well, to make sure na White e be. grin

My thoughts:

Be confident, know the purpose of your visit(your program) very well and be ready to communicate what every detail of
the program is all about, and how it will influence your career goals (In your home country).

Be Concise. Go straight to the point when answering questions. Be truthful in all your answers (my interviewer repeated
questions indirectly). Speak confidently and yet humbly and truthfully.

Know about the school and why you chose it over other US institutions (both in US and other countries).

Answer truthfully about past visits outside your home country, whether US or other countries. IMO it doesnt matter. I
had a virgin passport.

Dress professionally like a student, but don't overdress (I wore a white shirt and tie, on a trouser).

Carry all your relevant documents (I went with my I20, Admission Letter, GRE and TOEFL scores, Financial Docs,
Sevis, DS160 and Appointment Confirmation, Visa Fee receipt from GT Bank, Transcripts, UG and NYSC cert, Birth
Cert, 2*2 passport) and most importantly International Passport. Pray to return with all docs together with the White
papers an excluding your Intl Passport.

Maintain a positive attitude at all times (I just kept on smiling even though my heart wanted to escape).

95
Last but not the least, Get knowledge about the whole process (from start to finish) and prepare well. Nairaland deserves
more acclaim than we give it - from the GRE thread, to the Visa thread, to the other student threads. Nairaland has been
my Weekly Digest since last year. Chillax and study the threads.
A lady applied to different programs in different schools, she had a tough time defending her actions. Don't know the
outcome of her interview, My ears were just tuning in and out to the 3 VOs' questions.

Thank You God. Nara Ekene, Riwo Otito Fada Fada! cool

Thanks to all the big guys helping us out here (So many). This is one true big family. Forget the squabbles, we doing great
a great job here.
CC: Onyembu2013, Femi321, CuteMorgan, BigFrancis21, SirRiddy, DanjaNinja, Walspring, etc.

CABAYES
Visa approved on Tuesday Morning. 7 am.
I cannot say whether I gained from this thread or not but I enjoyed reading transcripts and I love to share my experience
and post thoughts.i am neither happy nor excited.

5 years ago, I was at the embassy for education advisory services for counseling and orientation. I ruled the US out my my
options due to the sad and hard visa experiences and how Nigerians are treated all in the name of getting a visa. May God
continue to punish our thieving leaders with different diseases for making our country unbearable for the masses. (Forgive
me for using such statements)

I felt degraded and kind of lost morale and interest in getting the visa after spending hours on the queue with security
checks and bio-metrics. I got into the so called interview hall and found people giving all sort of excuses and reasons to be
in the USA. For my mind I was swearing for our past leaders who failed to improve our educational system /economy .

I was surprised to listen to the interview of a man who applied for immigrant but was refused due to the fact he couldn't
tell the vo his date of birth. I lost morale on the spot when I listen to other interviews. At that time, I was certain I too had
forgotten my name. Tension was every where.

From the entrance at windows 5,The vo drilled a young man for 6 mins or so. I stared at him and swallowed the saliva in
my mouth when we had eye contact.i quickly removed my face and told god not to move me to this window 5. I was
hoping to be interviewed by one of the female vo but little did I know that I was wrong. Low and behold I ended up at
window 5. A middle aged man was denied in front of me as the vo found out that he lied about his purpose of traveling.
At that moment my head went blank. All the practicing and ginger left me as I met the same vo.

Me- good morning sir

Vo- no answer( for my mind I say my own done be today) what is your purpose of traveling to the United States ?
Me - I am going to svsu for my msc in comms in Michigan (stammering, I'm a stammer)
Vo-no why did you chose svsu ??
Me- svsu has good academic facilities and good lecturers (still stammering while the vo was typing and wasn't looking or
listening to me). He cuts me. At that point I lost morale because I didn't really express my self I lost eye contact.
96
Vo.- how many schools did you apply to
Me- I told him 3 (at this point I my head was down while he was staring at me and asking questions) the vo mentioned the
other school on my behalf and I said yes.

Vo- when did you graduate?

Me- I told him
Vo- what have you been doing since then?
Me - I told him my job functions still stammering and heads down. Truth was that I was expecting the blue paper at this
point.
Vo- says something I didn't hear and hands me a paper I didn't bother to look at. At this point I forgot my passport was not
returned back to me. It was outside the consulate I met some other guys who asked me how did my interview go. It was
then I was reminded that I was approved as I realized that my passport wasn't returned and I clearly saw the color of the
paper in broad daylight as the vo didn't circle anything.

no documents were asked for as the vo continued to ask me questions that needed a yes and no answers.i was lucky i
guess cool

I want to thank the likes of dickoflife and olan who helped me with mock interviews. Only god knows what criteria the vo
used to approve me because I wasn't impressive at all. I am neither happy or excited but was wondering why all these
stress for a visa.? I will always pray for my country to get better one day as my interview experience has left me with
mixed feelings

I just wanna thank God for his Grace. I would like to endeavour everyone who is applying for their visa to pray that God
gives them grace of favour. "Grace: he gives people Grace even if you aren't worth it, -He Is God of Grace- ". I had my
interview on the 28th July. 12:45. I was issued. it was really stressful and I taught all hope was lost but because God still
answers prayers "prayed and fasted for a week, didnt sleep at home, just told them i was going to church" guess it was
worth it. I wanna thank Walspring so much, he is a brother to me, a helper, he is like a backbone to me, and every time I
got stuck all I needed was to call him. Thanks so much. Thank you.

and i prepared. in fact i did 21 days fasting & prayer, and i will testify in church because it could only have been God's
doing.

102

I'm not much of a writer, so I'll just go straight to the point.

My interview was scheduled for 7:30 am, but I arrived the embassy around 5am. Asides being restive all through the
night, I stay on the mainland and had to beat any ungoldly traffic by leaving home very early. So I left home around
4:10am.

Got to the embassy, had to chill a while before we were ushered in. After the usual perusal of documents, biometrics and
all, we were ushered into the hall of judgement. The following conversation ensued between the VO and I:

VO: What state in the USA are you heading to?

Me: Texas
VO: I see you're going to study. What course?
Me: Environmental Engineering
VO: Who's sponsoring your trip?
Me: I have a scholarship from the FG of Nigeria, with a legal agreement I'll be assuming an academic position upon
completion of studies.
VO: So why do you have your Uncle as your sponsor on your I-20?
Me: I hadn't been awarded the scholarship when I requested for my I-20. I was going to pursue my plans even without a
scholarship, with the help of my Uncle.
VO: How did you get this scholarship?
Me: I applied, participated in an exam, and I made it to the top 4 of my state. Top 4 scorers were chosen from each state.
VO: How many people were awarded this scholarship?
Me: 175
VO: So they are all coming to the US? (By this time, I swear I was already tired)
Me: Ofcourse not. Some are heading to Australia, Canada, UK and other countries.
104
VO: What does your Uncle do?
Me: He owns a construction firm.
VO: Can I see your award letter?
Me: [hands over award letter]
VO: [Starts typing expeditiously, while perusing my award letter]
VO: What did your study in your undergraduate?
Me: Civil Engineering
VO: What school?
Me: FUNAAB
VO: Did you write any standardized tests?
Me: [Bleep No! How would I have been admitted without writing any test? I said in my mind lol] Yes, GRE and TOEFL.
VO: Okay, you've been issued your visa. Please keep this, you'll be needing it at the Port of Entry. Do have a safe trip.
Next!
Me: [walks out laboriously]

Nothing like "why this school," and those sort of questions I had already prepared cookie-cutter answers to.

All in all, keep being persistent and believing in God! I started registering for exams with just about 200k in my account.
It would have been being fully funded or nothing. I couldn't apply to many schools cos I ran out of money; I applied to
just twoboth of which I couldn't get full funding from. But then, God came through with a generous local scholarship.

Never stop believing! I pray that the Lord crowns all of our efforts, in Jesus name. To be successful isn't a day's job.

FEMIBRAND

SUNNYPASTIC
Finally am here with my testimony special thanks be to almighty God the one on the throne.
I want to start by narrating the ugly experience I had with some criminals called Nigeria Police at CMS immediately I
alighted at CMS I decided to take Okada as there was no time on my side as the Okada man who carried me was about to
enter the road leading to Victoria Island I was double-crossed by some non-uniformed four men and asked the Okada man
to pack his byke. Guess what? Their target was me. They requested me to come down from the byke which I did. Next
thing I heard is we are Police can we aee your file I gave to the my well packaged envelops. They started asking me all
sorts of rubbish questions when they were scanning through my documents. I pleaded them that I don't have time for all
these questions as my interview was scheduled for 7:15am hmmmm I felt momentarily sick but suddenly God's wisdom
enveloped me and I quickly sighted a soldier passing on the other side of the road I immediately ran to him explaining my
conditions as God will have it he listened across the road with me and confronted the quadruple idiots called Police
initially they started brandishing there ID card that they are Nigeria Police. After the Officer finished listening he ordered
them to bring all my documents for his sake which they did and I carefully went through it and confirmed if they were
complete and collected my passport from one of their most irrational idiots thanked the soldier man very well boarded the
same Okada that was stand by and left. God will continue to bless Nigeria army as they care for the Citizens
Finally the interview here

multimedia design will help me improve on the basic skill which I have in using
(At this point she was noodling in agreement with me, I just knew it was going to be approved) adobe illustrator ,
Photoshop, after effect and other softwares.
Con: congratulations your visa has been approved, you can pick it up in 3working days
Me: thank you ma.
(All this was just in 30seconds)

Guy the key here is Prayer to God, preparation and not entertaining fear. Good luck to those expecting there, hoping to
