 ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to determine the approach strategies of 21st century teachers on 21st

learners. It will show the strategies of teachers that they used in everyday lives. It includes how do the

respondents apply it to their class. All the problem that the respondents experienced will be revealed. The

study used a qualitative phenomenological method. The design method we used intends to capture the

life experienced of the participant. Three participants were selected from the Senior High School teachers

of Our Lady of Fatima University. A non- probability sampling technique is used to help the researchers

to select units from s population that they are interested (Lund Research Ltd, 2012). One on one interview

is the only instrument that the researchers used to gain more information about our topic. The researchers

set a guidelines in conducting a research that is guided by legal and ethical principle that centers the

welfare of all participants in the approved research.

We, Senior High GAS students of Our Lady of Fatima University-Antipolo Campus will be
conducting a research in the fulfillment of the subject in Research I. The researchers would like to give
you the information about this research. In the line with this area:

A. Purpose and Conduct of the study

The purpose of the study is for the researchers to understand and to have an in-depth
st
understanding about the different approach strategies of 21 century teachers. This study will be
conducted though Interview that will last for 7 days. If only the participant would allow the
researchers. The researchers would observe their daily activity as well as there will be an interview about
the story of their lives.
 B. Compensation

All of the expenses regarding the research process that the participants will be using like food
transportation and others shall be covered by researchers.

C. Provisions for injury or related illness

If there will be some injuries or related illness that will occur during the research process, the
researchers will be responsible in any cost.

D. Contact Person

In case of emergencies or injuries about the research, the participants can contact Jezrelyn

E. Voluntariness of Participitation

The participants is free of any coercion in participating in the study. The participation can also

Researcher: So,Our topic for tody is all about The Approach strategies of the 21st century
teachers..Ahhh maam,before we start is it okay if I speak in tagalog.

Respondent #1: Probably,sure

Researcher: So maam,ano maampwede po bang pakisabi kung ano ang pangalan niyo,ilang taon at
yung birthday niyo.Pero kung ayaw niyo pong sabihin yung birthday niyo,age niyookay lang po.

Respondent #1:HahahahaSige,My name is Richelle Rivera,21 years of age,April 8 1995

Researcher: So,Our first question,para sayo ano ang pinaka mabisang stratehiya ang ginagamit sa
pagtuturo.

Respondent #1: Sincethis 21st century, I am using Learning Centered Strategy Approach method of
teachingWhat do you mean about learning centered strategy is that we let the student explore in their
own critically.

Researcher: Bakit kailangan ng mga guro na magkaroon ng stratehiya sa pagtuturo?

Respondent #1:Malamang dahil kailangan.kailanagan maunawaang yung..kailanagan maunawaan

yung tinituro at paano nila mauunawaan yun.kailangan nilang ahhh.gabay,strategies that is use by
teachers are to help student to be more knowlegable to their subject.

Researcher:Sa paanong paraan po nakakatung yung mga stratehiyang binanggit niyo bilang guro sa 21st
century learners?

Respondent #1:Sa paanong paraan ito nakakatulong?Sige,What do you mean with that?

Researcher:Ano po ahhh.Yung mga binanggit niyo,katulad po nong sinabi niyo kaninang

stratehiya..paano po nakakatulong sa iyong statehiya sa mga 21st century learner.

Respondent #1:Actually,dahil nga naka-angkla yung student learner method or approach sa

studyante.Nakakatulong ito in the sense of na..ito na nakakatulong sa studyante,ito na ang
pinakanmadaling paraan para sa kanila.Kung paano nila gusting matuto at kung pano ito dapat matutunan.

Researcher:Ahhh..May maganda po bang epekto ito sa klase yung paraan niyo po ng pagtuturo?
Respondent #1:That is very subjective..Maari kong sabihing oo,maari kong sabihing hindi.Bakit siya
subjective?Kasi hindi naman lahat ng studyante kaya o maka-cope up dun sa way ng patuturo ko.Maari
naming oo kasi,madali naman siyang maunawaan ehhyy..Kasi nga student centered tayo,nakdepende sa
kanila kung paano sila matututo.

Researcher:Sa tingin niyo po ba,nakukuha niyo po ba ang atensiyon ng buong klase gamit ang
stratehiyang binanggit niyo?

Respondent #1:Pwede pero depende

Researcher:Sa tingin moAno po ang magandang paraan ng pagtuturo sa ika-21 siglo?

Researcher: ano ang magandang paraan ng pag-tuturo sa ika-12 na siglo?

Respondent #1: kasi kaming mga 21st teachers naka-angkla sa spiral approach , even though we are
learner centered.. naka-angkla pa rin sa mga kung anong natututunan ng estudyante. Ang magandang
strategy is that.. ang masasakop lahat ng intelligence, intra, inter , mathematical etc.

Researcher: Dumako naman po tayo sa mga available resources.. anopo ang kadalasang available
resources ang ginagamit niyo ?

Respondent #1: Sana white board marker.. sana hahaha (laughing) meron ako non pero kasi di ko
ginagamit.

Researcher: Makakatulong ba ang available resources na iyong binanggit sa iyong estratehiya sa

pagtuturo?

Respondent #1: In some point is.. kasi hindi ako gumagamit ng powerpoint kasi nakakalito siya para skin.

Researcher: Sa common dilemma naman po tayo. Nakakaapekto ba sa iyong pagtuturo ang problemang
personal sa propesiyonal?

Respondent #1 : wala ganon pa rin naman eh.. kung pano ako nagtuturo o kung paano ko gustong
magturo at kung ano ang gusto kong ituro yun lang yung talagang ituturo ko. Wala.. wala.. hindi siya
inaangklahan ng problema ko.

Researcher: sa pang araw-araw naman pong pagtututro, paano mop o hinaharap ang iyong pang araw-
araw na pagsubok sa pagtuturo?
Respondent #1: ano ba yung mga pang araw-araw na pagtututro.. kindly explain nyo nga ang mga
pagsubok sa pagtuturo kasi parang hindi naman ako nahihirapan eh ..

Researcher: ahhh..ano po maam,, for example po meron po kayong estudyante na hindi nakapasok,
marami po kadalasan sa iyong klase ang mga hindi pumapasok na estudyante.. so isa po ito sapagsubok sa
iyong pagtuturo.Paano mo nga po maituturo ng maayos, yung mga estudyabte paano po nila ito
mauunawaan , kailangan po nila ng partipasyon sa iyo pong gagawin na lesson.

Respondent #1: okay, when it comes in absentism, I address that to the adviser itself kasi syempre.. siguro
ang pinaka-pinoproblema ko na lang kung nauunawaan nila yung tinuturo ko.

Researcher: paano hinaharap niyo ang pang araw-araw na problema sa pagtuturo?

Respondent #1: madali lang naman siya ehhh.. hindi ko alam hindi ko naman pinoproblema ang pagtuturo
kasi mahal ko ang pagtuturo.. wala akong problema sa pagtuturo.

Researcher: so ibig sabihin po parang nature niyo na ang pagtuturo ..

Respondent #1: parang inmate need ko na ang pagtuturo.

Researcher: may mga bagay ka ba na hinahanda para masolusyonan ang mga problema sa pagtuturo ?

Respondent #1: wala ,aral.. basa.. ganon lang.. bahala..bahala ..

Researcher: sa madaling salita yung pagrerelax yung iyong mabisang

Respondent #1: yes nakakatulong talaga yun.. kasi pag naiistress ka sa pagtuturo parang naiistress na rin
yung nasa paligid mo , parang walang puso.. dapat sa pagtuturo may puso.

Researcher: nahihirapan ka ba pagnagkakaroon ng problema sa pagtuturo?

Respondent #1: nahihirapan ako kapag paper works.

Researcher: ano ang bagay na nakakasagabal sa iyong pagtuturo?

Researcher: First question sir para ano ang pinaka mabisang istratehiya na ginagamit mo sa pagtuturo?

Respondent #2: Para sa akin ang pinakamabisang istratehiya sa pagtuturo ay yung iinvolve mismo yung
mga estudyante doon sa kanilang learning. Teaching and learning process bakit sa ganoon? Sabi nga ni
John Dewy, Learning by doing, di matututo ang mga estudyante not unless iinvolve mo sila.

Researcher: Ah sir sa tingin nyo po bakit po ba kailangang magkaroon ang isang guro ng mabisang
istratehiya?

Respondent #2: Bakit kailangang magkaroon ng mabisang istratehiya ang mga guro? Simple lang, kasi
ang istratehiya na ginagamit ng mga guro sa pagtuturo ay pagkakakilanlan din mismo ng mga guro. Dito
sila nakikilala and eventually bukod sa pagkakakilanlan ito din ang nagsisilbing tagakuha ng atensyon
motivation kumbaga ng mga estudyante sa pagkatuto. Sabi nga nila ang pagkatuto ng mga estudyante ay
hindi lamang sa mga estudyante mismo. Naandon ang intervention ng teacher. Kailangan nasa teacher,
may maganda syang istratehiya sa pagtuturo para may matutunan ang mga estudyante.
Researcher: Sa paanong paraan nakakatulong ang mga istratehiyang binanggit nyo po sa inyung
pagtuturo sa aming mag aaral sa 21st century?

Respondent #2: Sa paanong paraan?

Researcher: Yes sir

Respondent #2: Paanong paraan??

Researcher: Paanong paraan nakatutulong for example po, sa inyung pagtuturo mismo yung mga
binanggit nyo pong istratehiya , paano po ito nakakatulog?

Respondent #2: Ahhh, nakatutulong sya para mageneralize ng husto na topic and eventually madali
syang makuha. Makuha ng estudyante ang gusto naming topic o aming paksain.

Researcher: May maganda bang epekto sa klase nang paraan sa pagtuturo?

Respondent #2: Oo, malaki bakit? Eh yun nga yung sinasabi ko sa inyo na ang pagtuto ng estudyante ay
depende sa istratehiya na gagamitin ng guro. Ngayon, malaki epekto nito.

Researcher: Sa tingin nyo ba nakakakuha... nakukuha nyo ang atensyon ng iyong buong klase yung mga
ginagamit mong estratihiya?

Respondent #2: Hindi ko sasabihing lahat . Bakit? Kase sabi ng ni... na... isang philosopher mayron
tayong kanya kanyang paraan ng pagkatuto. Okay, ang ilang bata ay visual learner, yung iba naman ay
kinestitic andon na siguro kung paano nya pagsasabay sabayin yung mga istratehiyao paraan ng
pagkatuto ng mga estudyante na gagamitin nya sa paraan ng pagtuturo nya.

Researcher: Sir, dumako naman tayo sa mga available resources... Ahm, ano po ba kadalasang available
resources na ginagamit mo?

Respondent #2: Para sa akin, ang available resources na ginagamit ko ay yung projector. Bakit projector
at laptop usually yun ang ginagamit ko but if it necessary to use the white board marker, gumagamit din
ako pero iyung nga yung sa case nyo, ilan sa inyo gumagamit ng manila paper, cartolina in discussing
your topic. And eventually di lang sa resource materials or the primary resource materials inside your
classroom. Its the teacher itself. Hindi yung materials na nahahawakan o tangible. Ang teacher nyo mismo
ay resource materials.
Researcher: Ah so, sinasabi nyo po na ang available resources po ay hindi lamangmga materials na
tangible na bagay kundi mismo ang prensence o yung mismong nagtuturo. So nakaktulong po ba ang mga
available resources sa mga estrahiyang binanggit nyo po kanina?

Respondent #2: Malaki nga ang epekto nito diba....... Dapat andun ang intervention ng guro at estudyante.
Hindi gagamitin ng guro ang mga resources materials na ito kung hindi naman ito akma sa learning
outcome o learning environmentng mga estudyante. Kaylangan mong mamili ng possible resouces
materials na gagamitin mo sa mga estudyante.

Researcher: Sir, dumako naman tayo sa mga common dillemma. Sir nakakaapekto po ba sa iyong
pagtuturo ang iyong problemang personal na nararanasan ?

Respondent #2 : Sa akin nakakaapekto ba?.... hindi bakit? Hindi ako nagpapaapektohan ang mga
estudyante ko sa kase magkaiba yun ... ito yung propesyonal kong buhay, ito yung personal kong buhay.

Researcher: So sa madaling salita, yung mga problema nyo po sa ... sa bahay hindi nyo po dinadala sa
paaralan.

Respondent #2: Oo personally hindi (Laughing) bakit? Kase ayoko

Researcher: Sir bilang isang guro paano mo natuturuan ang iyong klase sa kabila ng iyong problema.

Respondent #2: Ahhh, think positive diba? Yun nga yung ginagawa ko (Ang buhay ng kristyano ay
kaysayang tunay) diba dahil dun sa pagkanta kong yun ano ang nangyayari? Parang nababasawan yung
negativity tapos nadadagdagan ang positivity oh diba? Isa yan sa istratehiya na ginagawa para hindi
masyadong ma depress tapos ano yung napapansin nyo nandun na yung momentum na kunware galit
galitan ako o kaya seryoso bigla akong tatawa to lessen the atmosphere.

Researcher: Ahhh!!!

Respondent #2: Yun (Happy) para wag nyo masyadong dibdibin mga panget kayp (Laughing)

Researcher: Sainyo naman pong buhay pagtuturo paano naman po hinaharap ang mga pang araw araw
mna pagsubok sa inyong pagtuturo.

Respondent #2: Yung araw araw na?.... Ahhh! Simple lang ano talaga ang goal namen. Ang goal namen
ay yung may matutunan kayo. Yung ang primary goal namen nagagabayan kame neto para ma lessen o
tawag netoo ma overcome yung mga negative attitude
Researcher: Hmmmm! So sir paano nyo po hinaharap bilang isang guro ang pang araw araw na problem
sa pagtuturo?

Respondent #2: Kumanta ka ng ang buhay ng kristyano ay kaysayang tunay yun yung akin (laughing)
diba?

Researcher: Sir meron po bang mga bagay o paraan kang ginagawa para mapaghandaan o kaya
masolusyunan yung mga problema sa pagtuturo.

Resoindent #2: Oo meron sample nagbabasa ako ahead sa mga estudyante ko, halimbawa eto yung topic
namen tapos yung babasahin is 2 to 3 topics in advance para just incase na meron akong problema edi
madali ko nang masosolusyunan ang akward naman kung saka sakaling may alam pa yung estudyante
kesa sakin.

Researcher: So yung ibig sabihin po yung paraan nyo po ng paghahanda yung pagaadvance reading.

Respondent #2 : Oo reading and eventually kapag walang naiintindihan research lang ng research.

Respondent #2: hindi bakit madali lang yun e problema lang yun bakit akong mamomoblema sa problema
kung problema na yun.

Researcher: ano ang mga bagay na nakakasabagal sayo sa pagtuturo?

Respondent #2: Ikaw (Laughing) kayong mismo

Researcher: so sir hindi po yun yung protaining sa akin.. individual...

Respondendent #2 : Oo (Laughing)

Researcher: Bilang pong saming mag aaral.

Respondent #2: Mismo (Laughing) Oo yun yung malaking factors don yung involvedment nyo sa klase
diba? Paano kung yung teachers prepared tapos kayo hindi wala rin? Nasaan yung learning at teaching
process diba (laughing)

Respondent #3: Okay. So again Good morning, I'am Raymart D. Devera 32 years old, I 'am teaching here
in Our Lady of Fatima University. I'm teaching grade 11 students, my subjects that I'm teaching this
semester is chemistry, Biology and Organization Management.

Researcher: So sir, before we start is it okay with you if I'm going to speak in tagalog?

Respondent #3: Very well, okay naman.

Researcher: Para sainyo po ano ang pinakamabisang estratehiya ang ginagamit nyo sa pag tuturo?

Respondent #3: Ang ginagamit kong estratehiya ay 'cooperative learning strategy"

Researcher: Bakit po kaya sa tingin ninyo kailangan ng isang guro magkaroon ng mabisa o epektibong
estratehiya?

Resondent #3: okay, so sa ganoong sitwasyon, kailangan ng guro ng estratehiya para maging mabisang
guro sila sakanilang mag aaral, hindi naman kase makakatulong kung puro sa salita lang ang ginagamit sa
lecture. Dahil sa panahon ngayon hindi lamang spoon learning ang kailangan kundi ang kooperasyon ng
mag aaral sa klase. Ito, Uhm ay isang estratehiya na makakatulong sa aming mga teachers para mas
maintindihan ng mga estudyante.

Respondent #3: well the answer is yes, a big yes kase nalalaman ko na hindi naman lahat ng oras eh puro
lecture, kailangan din minsan ng participation para ma-measure kung meron bang natutunan yung mga
estudyante.

Researcher: Sa tingin nyo po, nakaka kuha po ba ng atensyon ang estratehiya na inyong ginagamit?

Respondent #3: The answer is yes. Syempre naman, ang ano lang naman, ang magiging problema o
balakid dyan ay yung mga ibang estudyante kungnakikinig sila o hindi.

Researcher: Ano po ang kadalasang available resources na inyong ginagamit?

Respondent #3: Syempre mayroon akong ginagamit na available resources, halimbawa neto ay ang pag
gamit ng mga tinatawag na improvise resources

Researcher: Such as anong mga available resources ang ginagamit ninyo?

Respondent #3: halimbawa neto ay kartolina at chalk

Researcher: Nakakatulong po ba ang mga available resources na ito sa inyong pagtuturo?

Respondent #3: ah yung mga binangitko so ang sagot is yes, nakakatulong ang mga technologies para
mas mapabilis at hindi na kailangan pag dikit-dikitin kung ano man ang kailangan sa lecture. Pag visual
naman ginagamit siya, syempre hindi naman lahat ng oras may power siya angnagsisilbing back up.

Researcher: Tungkol naman sa common dilemma ng mga teachers

Researcher: nakaka apekto po ba sainyong pagtuturo ang problema ninyo sa buhay?

Respondent #3: Hangang maari bilang isang guro dapat natin isang tabi ang problemang personal namin
may pagkakataong nakaka apekto pero hangat maari iniiwasan kasi kung hindi namin iiwasan yun,
syempre masama ang maiidulot nun sa pagtuturo. Sa halip na maka gawa ka ng magandang environment
nahahaluan mo ng personal na problema mo hindi magiging maganda ang resulta.

Researcher: Bilang isang guro, paano nyo po natuturuan ng maayos ang iyong klase sa kabila ng iyong
problema?

Respondent #3: So ganito dahil nga bilang isang guro so dapat alam mo yung lahat na environments
yung ibat ibang uri ng sections kasi bawat sections may ibat ibang katangian may mga sections na aktibo
may mga sections na hindi kapag ganun ang ginagawa ko para maturuan sila kahit na may problema is
that talagang isang tatabi mo, kaylangan mo gumawa ng mga ibang strategies katulad ng mag papatawa
ka, kasi kung hindi ka mag papatawa maalala mo lang yung personal mong problema, ganun lang.

Researcher: Paano ninyo pohinaharap ang pangaraw-araw na pagsubok sa pagtuturo?

Respondent #3: Okay so hinaharap kong karaniwan na suliranin, Yung mga problema sa pag tuturo by
means na pag gamit ng iba't ibang estratehiya, yung ganito nagkakaroon tayo ng mga aktibidades na
group works ganun tska yung iba nating performance task na nag rerequired na masukat kung ano ang
natutunan ng estudyante sa lesson.

Researcher: May mga bagay nahinahanda po ba kayo para masolusyunan mo ang mga problema sa
pagtuturo?
Respondent #3: So syempre gumagawa tayo ng plan kumbaga nga sa larong basketball hindi ka namang
makakabuo ng teamwork kung hindi mo naman masusulusyunan ang problema mo sa team kung titingin
mo lang sila so ang mga ginagawa kong estratehiya kapag ganyan ay yung mga nangyayare sa
estudyante or halimbawa problema sa pagtuturo ang unang sinusulusyunan ko hangang maari yung
padahandahan lang hindi yung pabiglabigla kasi kung pabigla bigla yung desisyon baka mamaya yung
inaakla mong sulusyon ay maging dadgdag problema.

Researcher: Nahihirapan ka ba sa tuwing magkakaroon ka ng problema sa pagtuturo?

Respondent #3 : Hindi naman, hangang maari kung may ganun mang sitwasyon kaylangan natin
matutunan ang term na or ginagamit ko yung term na improvasation, Ibig sabihin nun kung ano lang ang
merong available na gamit yun lang ang gagamitin. SO pwede nating dagdagan ang mga aspekto na
nakakadagdag, halimbawa visual aids so maglagay ka ng konting ano ng mga konting mga ano mga
dagdag kaalaman at mga konting katuwaan para hindi lahat ng oras boring ang klase.

Researcher: Ano ang mga bagay na nakakasagabal sa pagtuturo?

Respondent #3: ano ba bagay na madalas makasagabal, una yung willingness ng mga studyaante na
matuto. Pangalawa yung classroom hindi maayos maingay at madalas yung mga studyanteng madalas
nagkakaroon ng habitual absents.
