Brief Description:

We are building a hybrid bot which is a combination of drum bot and wedge
bot.
The front part is a revolving drum with projections. Other sides are sloped to
an angle of 45, which will act as a wedge. The height of the bot is kept low as
it is an added advantage by making our bot to topple a lot difficult. The sides
are sloped with a view to act as a defence against circular attact bots and also
most other types of bots. The sloped edge also act as a attack when moved
with high speed towards opponent with slope edge facing them, as it can lift
the opponent off ground. The ground clearance is kept as low as possible in
order to provide defence against lifters. The bot is made wired for simplicity.

keeping our bot fully covered to give full protection to internal components
The dimension of chasis is 60cmX70cmX15cm, which is well within the
maximum dimensions..

Movement and Stearing Mechanism:
Movement of the bot is by four wheels attached to the chasis in a way similar
to that of a typical four wheeler. The diameter of each wheel is cm and width
is cm. Each wheel is run by a 36V, rpm, torque geared DC motor. The
stearing of bot is done by simple differential drive settings, enabling the bot to
rotate 90 without any displacement. The wheel is at cm distance from the
side and at a distance of cm from each other. The wheels are shown in the
drawing below.
Attack Mechanism:
The primary attack mechanism is the rotating cylinder.This cylinder is made of
solid Stainless Steel 304. The cylinder has a specific design and projections of
specific dimensions on its surface to impart force on opponent and inflict
damage. The cylinder is rotated at considerably high speed . The rotating
Stainless Steel drum or cylinder exerts a heavy force when it hits the object in
the tangential direction to the point of hit.

The cylinder is rotated using a belt drive mechanism attached to a 24V,


4000rpm, torque DC motor. The cylinder maximum diameter is 13cm and
length 20cm, with a shaft of diameter 3.5cm going all through it.The attacking
cylinder solidworks design is shown in the figure below.
The bot with relative placement of attack cylinder is as shown below. Attack
cylinder is in red.
Remote control and Power source:
The bot is a wireless bot using Ni Cd battery packs for power supply. The
remote controls movement of bot and direction of rotation of attack cylinder.
