Spanish 2, 3 & 3 Syllabus

Mrs. Holly Fridley

Introduction: Hola, la clase de Espaol! Mi nombre es Seora

Fridley. Hi, my name is Mrs. Fridley and I will be your new Spanish
teacher for this up coming 2017-2018 school year. My Spanish class
is unlike your core subjects that you learn in high school. In order to
learn a new language is very different than you may expect. To learn
another language it will require discipline as well as extra time spent
outside of class studying the material. In order to be able to succeed
in learning a new language you must use it more than just the 50
minutes a day that I will see you in class. You must be diligent in
studying vocab, listening to native speakers, and trying to speak as
well to your friends and family. We will certainly have fun over the
year learning and gaining new knowledge in Spanish language.

Curriculum: Spanish 2 ,3 & 4 will focus on a few major areas such

as grammar, vocabulary, listening skills, and speaking the language.
The way we will evaluate your progress is through exams, in class
assignments, cultural assignment, and oral assignment. There will be
homework and class participation factored into your grade as well.
We will be using the book Realidades as well as Aura.

Classroom Expectations: You will be expected to come to class

prepared everyday. This means you bringing with you the vocab,
grammar guides, paper and pencil with you. Curse words will not be
tolerated in my class nor will bullying of any kind be accepted in my
class. I expect everyone to participate in the classroom this is part of
your grade. You must arrive to class on time tardiness is
unacceptable. I will follow the MHS tardy policy at all times. You will
adhere to the countywide dress code policy.

Cell phones: Cell phone use under any circumstance is

prohibited in my classroom at ALL times. You will be expected
to place cell phones in your backpack upon arrival into the
classroom. This is no negotiable nor will any stubbornness
against the policy be tolerated. I will warn you once if I see them
to put them away. Then it will be placed on my desk till the end
of class. If there is any argument or negativity of any kind will
result in a call placed to your parent as well as a write up. Cell
phones are a distraction from instruction time. We have a lot of
material to cover with very little time to do so. I will follow the
cellphone disciplinary policy regarding cell phone misusage.

Late work: Late work is not acceptable you will always be given
ample time to complete assignments. If you fail to turn in an
assignment on time for everyday the work is late 5 points will be
deducted.
