In Spanish 1 you learned how to use gustar and encantar.

(A m) Me gusta patinar. Skating pleases me. / Skating is pleasing to me.

(A ti) Te gust el chocolate.

(A Luisa) Le encantan las flores.

Chocolate pleased you. / Chocolate is pleasing to you.

A. Notice that gustar is used with INDIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS, and NEVER subject
pronouns. (It is never correct to say Yo me gusta or Yo gusta.) This is a little weird
for us as English speakers, but youll get over it.

Indirect Object (IO) pronouns

Me= Us= nos

You= You all (inf, Sp)= os

Him= le Them= les
Her= le You all= les
You(Ud.)= le

*Also notice that a noun subject ALWAYS has an article (el, la, los, las) unless it is a person
(unusual). Again, this is very different than English, but get over it.

Me encantan los sbados= I love Saturdays
