(mechanical and electric tests of complete hangers)


Catenary components will be exposed to higher and higher
requests. Particularly rising speeds and the long durability
requested put new challenges to technique.
New components, that shall be released for installation in
catenary systems, must be tested objectively, comparably and in

a realistic way corresponding to the actual impacts and

Old components, that are already in use for several years, are to
be tested for their suitability for new, increased requests.

This KRUCH patent, a result of our own development department,

proven at best (sale: >900,000 units). The patented shaping,
optimised material combination and automated manufacturing
result in a hanger with the highest duration of life (train passings)
and the probably best price on the market.

The KRUCH hanger without thimble is a complete new approach


GENERAL INFORMATION

for a safe, current-proof suspension of catenary wires, excellent


to assemble and regulate. Installation is done by one screw only,
first fixing the dropper cable, secondly the contact wire / catenary
cable, designated for automated workshop-preassembly and
rapid on track installation. Reject due to false-length of hangers
is minimised the hanger can be regulated at any time.
The spark-free & current-proof connection replaces all other
electrical jumpers and balances the electrical potential in the
system at each dropper (improved system performance, reduced
wear).
The flexible hanger without thimble by KRUCH is the first choice

This newly developed hanger fulfils the special requirements of

catenary-systems with lowered catenary cables.


The new arrangement of well approved standard-products allows
a reduction of the system height (between catenary cable and
contact wire) down to 100mm, with infinite regulation in length.
Still the dropper remains flexible and creates no hard point in
the contact wire! The hanger cable can glide inside the hanger
clamp to make lengthwise movements possible. (fig. 1)

Expenditure in procurement and stock can be reduced by using
the KRUCH standard-components and allowing a rapid assembly
of the customized hanger.

catenary chain as well as the life-cycle-costs of weight tensioning.
Reduced friction takes effect positively on the accuracy,
adjustability minimises the wear of the wire, optimum material
combination spares the use of lubricants.

This KRUCH product replaces the usual multi-plate composed

weights by one single part. This reduces handling and force


expenses and increases the occupational safety of the
installation workers.
Moreover, due to the higher density of steel compared with
concrete, the overall length of the weight could be reduced by
~50%. This solves the problem of missing vertical space between
tensioning device and ground level in most cases. High expenses

The one-piece tensioning weights by KRUCH can be customised


to any catenary system and therefore be used world-wide in
almost any overhead-contact system.
