------ INDEFINITE ARTICLES A AND AN ------

The articles ajan mean one. They are used before singular nouns. The choice to use a or an depends on the
initial sound of the noun.
Use a before singuar nouns which begin with a consonant sound: a boy, a girl.
Use an before singular nouns which begin with a vowel (a, e, i, o, u) sound: an orange, an apple
