The Copperphone is deep-sampled and the +2.000 samples cover a variety of mallet
types, including soft mallet, hard mallet, wooden mallet, muted and finger nails. In addition
we created a variety of additional patches with different types of effects. The
Copperphone also contains some almost water like ambiences to wrap up the experience.

INSTALLATION
This library is designed for the full retail version of Kontakt 4.2.2 and later ONLY. It
cannot be used in the free Kontakt Player. Please read the instrument specifications
and software requirements before purchasing this or any other 8DIO products to see
the full list of software requirements, features and format compatibility for each
library.
If you have any problems with the 8DInstaller download manager, follow the manual
download instructions that came in your purchasing email. After downloading, use
Winrar, UnrarX, Unrar or other .rar-compatible program to uncompress the
download files.
Then, extract the Part 1 of the included rar file set. The other parts will automatically
self-extract and install during the process. Next, follow the UI installation process on
the page below.
Once installation is complete, you can browse and load the included .nki presets
using the Files or Database tabs in the Kontakt Browser view on the left side of
Kontakt, or with the main File load/save menu. You cant use the Libraries view to
load standard open-format Kontakt Instruments like this library. Only locked
Powered-By-Kontakt Libraries are supported by that view.
Note: The Add-Library function in Kontakt does not support this product.
CORE ARTICULATIONS
The Copperphone contains five core articulation types, which were made by playing
the instrument with hard mallet, soft mallet, wooden mallet, muted notes and finger
nails. The hard mallet, wooden and finger nails have the most pronounced attack -
where the soft mallet has a more smooth and relaxed tone. The muted articulation is a
non-sustained sample of the Copperphone.
PATCHES & FX
The Copperphone contains 32 of additional patches, which are partiaully modified
versions of the core patches with filter control, delay, reverb, convolutions and so
forth. You will also find 15 custom ambiences that were all 100% made with the
Copperphone, so the ambiences blend completely with the Copperphone itself. All the
core patches were deep-sampled extensively in several velocity layers and with 8 x
round robin (repetition) pr. layer.
SCORING TIPS
The Copperphone is gorgeous and eclectic instrument. It also happens to be custom, so
you wont find anything like this in the music stores. One of the beautys of the
Copperphone is its almost water like clarity. It sounds somewhere between a pristine bell
and a metallic marimba. It is tuned percussion at its finest and high notes can resemble a
music box - where the mid/lower ones have some parallels to Marimbas.
The Copperphone articulations tend to work well when played in consistent rhythmic
patterns, but are also effective for augmentation. Try throwing some Copperphone behind
your favorite piano samples and see what happens. The library is also ultra prone to big
verbs, which enhances the clarity of the bell notes.
The ambiences are a major addition to the library. We use a variety of techniques to
create the ambiences and ensure they are purely made from source material from the
instrument. The Copperphone ambiences all have emotional qualities, but you can also find
an ultra phat bass sound in there. Try creating a rhythmic pattern with the Copperphone -
throw a couple of Copperphone ambiences and mix them with the Copperbass, which is
also found in the ambient directory. Then add a Piano and all of a sudden you got a
gorgeous underscore with extreme clarity.
But there is no right way of using the library - only matters what is right to you T
