Course Computation has changed the way people think, work, live, and play. Our methods Description: for communicating, collaborating, problem solving, and doing business have changed and are changing due to innovations enabled by computing. Many innovations in other fields are fostered by advances in computing. Computational approaches lead to new understandings, new discoveries, and new disciplines. Students in this course will become familiar with many ways in which computing enables innovation, and they will analyze the potential benefits and harmful effects of computing in a number of contexts.

Computer games are not allowed. Cell and phones must be turned off and stored away. Cell phones will be taken from those students policies: who do not comply and returned at the end of class. Students should not listen to music during class. Being not on task may result in a deduction of 1 point off the final grade for each occurrence. Students should not copy another student's work. Course assignments are all electronic. Students are expected to include their name and description on all files. For example, YourName Bio, would be an appropriate file name for your Bio assignment. Make-up Ten percent will be deducted from the grade for work turned in late if there is no approved work: excuse. Also, ten percent will be deducted from a make-up test grade if the absence is unexcused. Plagiarism: Students should do their own work. Two students should not work together for the purpose of splitting the work. Do not turn in the same file as another student or lend your files to another student. Violations could result in getting a zero on a whole assignment even though only part was copied. Absences Students are expected to attend class and exhibit a positive attitude. An unexcused absence or and tardies: a block of unexcused time away from class may result in a deduction of 1 point for each occurrence off the final grade for not being on task. Students should get permission to leave class. Office hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 9:00am 10:30am. Monday: 2:45 p.m. 5 p.m., or by appointment.
