Dear GMA Student,

Our approach to music educaFon is to maintain a very high level

of professionalism whilst having a very high level of fun!
With this in mind I have carefully selected a talented
team of tutors, many of whom I have performed
alongside throughout my professional career, and
I know are passionate, hugely experienced,
and share that same approach.

GMA not only provides students with the

very best equipment in a safe and
friendly environment, but provides support
and tui6on in order for each student to
realise their poten6al.

Now that you have made the decision to

start your music career with us, my advice
would be to absorb yourself in the

you by the GMA team, and to put everything
youve got into every single note that you
play on your respecFve instrument.

I look forward to teaching you soon

Professional

GMA believes that musicians on the island should have access to a comprehensive,
professional programme that develops, nurtures and provides students with the necessary
techniques, knowledge and skills needed to mature to a professional
standard, and provides opportuniFes to put them into pracFse.
Our Professional Development Programme (PDP) does exactly
that by taking intermediate-to-advanced students, in detail, through all
of the aspects of being a modern professional musician
including, but not limited to, the following:

techniques
styles

professional musicianship
Performing with click tracks and backing tracks
Performing using electronics
image
stage craft
Instrument maintenancE
media training
Networking

Students will be mentored through

real-world scenarios such as studio
recording, live performances, radio
interviews, photo/video shoots and more
where they will have the opportunity to put what they
have learnt into pracFse and build on their condence
and professionalism.

one-to-one lesson as well as a weekly 2
hour group session.

competency is required therefore an audiFon process will need to be
passed in order to enrol on the Professional Development Programme.

5
ARTIST development
programme

It is also a belief of GMA that as well as musicians themselves,

arFsts and bands on the island should also have access to a
comprehensive, professional programme that develops,
nurtures, mentors and provides acts with the necessary
knowledge, facili6es and opportuni6es needed to
mature to a professional standard.

Our Ar6st Development Programme (ADP)

does exactly that by taking students, in detail, through
all of the aspects of releasing a
record, including, but not
limited to, the following:

songwriting
pre-production
recording
mixing
Mastering
rehearsing
working with a producer
stage craft
image
media training
promotion
touring

Students will be mentored through all of the above

scenarios and much more in Guernseys best equipped
recording studio and rehearsal facility. As part
of the programme students will write, record,
release, promote and perform a record whilst
rehearsing weekly in order to improve their cra`
and creaFve air. Students will also regularly have the
opportunity to extract knowledge, be inspired by, and learn from arFsts,
bands, promoters, managers and more from within the industry in their
weekly group sessions, either in person or via Skype.
