reflects the important performance domains of the job. It is a validationprocess that can
address the constraints faced by many organizations. It is a practical approach to validation.
Face validity is the extent to which a test is subjectively viewed as covering the concept it
purports to measure. It refers to the transparency or relevance of a test as it appears to test
participants. ... Face validity is often contrasted with content validity and construct validity.
Construct validity refers to the extent to which operationalizations of a construct(e.g.,
practical tests developed from a theory) measure a construct as defined by a theory. It
subsumes all other types of validity. For example, the extent to which a test measures
intelligence is a question of construct validity.
Construct validity is "the degree to which a test measures what it claims, or purports, to be
measuring." In the classical model of test validity, construct validity is one of three main types
ofvalidity evidence, alongside content validity and criterion validity.
In psychometrics, criterion or concrete validity is the extent to which a measure is related to
an outcome.Criterion validity is often divided into concurrent and predictive validity.
Concurrent validity refers to a comparison between the measure in question and an outcome
assessed at the same time.
Criterion validity - Validity of a selection process test assessed by comparing the test scores
with a non-test criterion. For example, test for leadership skills will match the test scores with
the traits displayed by known leaders.
Test-retest reliability refers to the degree to whichtest results are consistent over time. In
order to measure test-retest reliability, we must first give the same test to the same
individuals on two occasions and correlate the scores.
