In the space below, please write your written reflection, indicating areas of needed emphasis,
growth, and improvement (the space will expand as you type):
Overall, I am very thankful for the amount of support, cooperation, and leadership that I was given
during this internship. Not only was it informational, but it allowed me to grow not only as a future administrator,
but as an overall person. There were many areas that I felt I had a great handle on, and in some ways feel like
they are areas that I have been raised and aimed to satisfy throughout my life and career thus far. However, there
are areas I do know that I am going to have to do my homework and continue to better myself in with the help of
practice, professional development, and collaboration with others.
One of the biggest areas that I know I will need more practice in is taking assessment data and knowing
how to properly read the data to find trends. Assessments as a whole to me are based off the tool that you are
using to gather the data. For example, Chautauqua Lake used the Danielson Model of teacher assessments and
this was a tool that I started to get the hang of, but know I will need to continue my practice in finding the data
properly and efficiently during a lesson. It is not as easy as one would originally think for the data can happen in
a second and if you do not know what youre looking for it can cause issues. Finding an assessment tool that is
easy, comfortable to use, and effect is key in making great assessments in a timely fashion.
Another area that I am going to have to continue my education on is School Law. This is an area that I
know will be very critical in terms of knowing what types of decisions you as an administrator can make and the
consequences for doing those decisions. For example, in terms of Athletic Administration, there are many rules
and regulations that student-athlete, parents/guardians all read and sign off to. If there is a violation to those
rules, the punishment must be accordance with the language that regulates the rules. For educations, there are
many areas that all require the knowledge of School Law. Some of these areas are student life, students with
special needs/disabilities, teacher contracts, contract violations, negotiations, and many more areas that I am still
learning about. It is very important to surround yourself with a trusting and knowledgeable staff that can help in
going through School Law issues.
These are only a few of the areas that I am highlighting that I know need improvement, but there can
never be a complete level of satisfaction in administration duties. It is very important to ensure that continuing
education, working collaborative, and finding areas to improve on with self-evaluations are all a regular part of
your administration career.
In the space below, generate four self-improvement goals to be undertaken during this degree
program. Each goal is to include the following:
A goal statement and its relationship to one or more of the ISLLC Standards
Anticipated activities that will lead to the accomplishment of the goal
Evidence that will demonstrate attainment of the goal
Targeted date of completion for the goal
Goal #1: Become knowledgeable in School Law and the effects on administrative tasks and duties.
Taking additional course work, professional development seminars, as well as become more
educated through reading materials will all help me reaching this goal.
o In addition, I will surround myself with various sources of knowledge and realize that I
can always contact others to help in situations for advice, I am not alone.

Goal #2: Continue my great levels of communication and working collaboratively with others in fulfilling
administrative duties.
Continue to develop successful forms of communication, make my face known to other in the
schools and community, as well as develop new means of communication that can help create a
smoother operational program for others.
o Learn about various new forms of communication, help others/run workshops, that all
can help in created a team approach to higher levels of communication.

Goal #3: Gain a better knowledge base and understanding of various assessment that are being created and could
be implemented to my administrative duties.
Practice with assessment tools that are available to be used for use in various ways, teaching,
coaching, interviews, etc.
o Practice with these assessment tools is critical in having grounds for making hard
decision that may occur in the administrative world. Documentation is needed, thus
finding the best ways to gather data is the most important.

Goal #4: Become a positive influence and role model for my students in my administrative duties, be a positive
environment maker.
Gather an understanding of the school community, school working environment, and all other
areas that all create a positive environment for students, teachers, and staff.
o Follow my intrinsic values and morals that all help in creating a positive learning
environment. Doing the extra may take time, but it is what is remember and leaves a
lasting impression.
