Cl a deviation for series F 1 plastic valves of size DN 10 nae been specified 3} agreement with ISO 5752 ~ 1982 has been demonstrated: €@) 8 designation example has been included, Explanatory notes When the February 1977 edition of this standaro wes reviewed efter 5 years, an investigation wes made into which of ‘the total of 16 series of face-to-face dimensions for straight pattern valves and 4 series of centre-to-face dimensions for angle pattern valves had in fact been selectec for standards on sliding valves, butterfiy vsives, globe valves and piug-and- ball valves standardization of which had meanwhile been concluded. This investigation showed that series F 1, F 2, F 4, F 8 an F 7 for straight pattern valves anc F 32 and F 33 for ancle pattern values nad been adopted in the design standarse by the technical committees which drew up the design standards. However, this investigation also showed that new series of face-to-face dimensions have come inte being. Two series which fare to be regarded os independent have developed tor ball valves, & long series based on series F 1, F 4, F 5 and F 7. As specified in clause 1 of this standard, these series are indepencent series: they must be identified and usable as such, They have therefore been included as series F 17 and F 18 in this new edition. DIN 3352 Part 11, dealing with sliding valves made of non-ferrous metals, likewise specifies 2 series which it commonly Used and which corresponds to the current state of the art. This hat therefore Deen included in DIN 3202 Part 1's: the basic series F 19, Series F 32 and F 33 have been included for standards on angie pattorn valves. However, itis deemed approprigte to continue to retain @ number of series for face-to-face dimensions in DIN 3202 Part 1 because they are taken into consideration and are necessary for the determination of the space requirement of valves, in articular valves of relatively high nominal pressure ratings, for which there are at present no design stancards and it has also not been decided whether such standards will be provided. Thut, series F 2 is used for globe valves of nominal pressure ratings PN 250 and PN 320. Series F and F 8 are used for sliding valves of nominal pressure rating PN 160 and PN 250 respectively, The same applies to series F 34, which is usec for angle pattern valves of pressure ratings PN 250 and PN’ 320. Sorios F 6 and F 16 have also been retained. On the basis of the face-to-face dimension series F 6, standards for check valves are being developed, anc design series F 16 is used at a base for » standard on butterfly valves, Series F 11 and F 15 are initially retained for another 5 years. Nevertheless, the deletion of these series is envisaged for the next revision of this standard, Series F 10, F 12, F 13 and F 14 and also series F 31 have been omitted without replacement. It wes not possible to ‘ascertain whether these face-to-face dimensions series are in use After withdrawal of the draft European Standarc prEN 16, the agreement of the face-to-face and ventre-to-face dimension series as specified in DIN 3202 Part 1 with international specifications was ensured by bringing ther into line with 180 5752, 1982 edition, International Patent Classification F161 23.02 2% UDC 621.646 : 621.649.411.4 : 621.753.1_ | DEUTSCHE NORM. Explanations ‘This revised edition of the standard takes into account the conclusions drawn from the first edition ofthis standard wen preparing design standards. It has been found that a series of face-to-face or centreto-face dimensions included in the first adition had not been taken into account when preparing design standards. They have therefore been deleted. Furthermore, when preparing design standards, it turned out that existing series would have to be supplemented and dimensions to be partly corrected. This has been taken account of in this revised edition. The revised edition covers 11 face-to-face dimension series instead of 13 for straight valves and 3 centre-to-face dimension seris instead of 5 for angle pattorn valves. ‘This revised edition algo should be regarded as a means to reduce the still existing diversity in standardized face-to-face or centre-to-face dimensions of valves with female thread connection.
