1. SCOPE

The scope of this procedure covers the control of installation

of Bored Cast-in-Situ Concrete piles executed by a sub-
contractor.

2. PROCEDURE

.1 Method Statement:
A method statement shall be submitted by the piling Sub- Project Method
contractor for approval which shall include: Manager Statement

i) Construction procedure.
ii) Pile design with calculations.
iii) Testing procedure.
iv) Documentation to be maintained during the execution
of work.
v) Mix design for concrete.
vi) Specification for reinforcement steel and bentonite
clay.
vii) Any other information required by the specification.

.2 Construction Programme:
The sub-contractor shall submit a programme for approval Sub- Approved
based on the Contract Programme. The subcontractor shall contractor Construction
also indicate the mobilisation time of plant, equipment, Programme
materials and work force.

.3 Piling Sequence: Manager
Approval of piling sequence will be given prior to
commencement of piling by the Subcontractor.

.4 Setting-Out: Subcon/
FCC Field Book
HEE will execute pre-piling setting out and offer for cross- Surveyor
checking by Subcontractors Surveyor and Consultants
Representative.

.5 Source Certificates:

Reinforcement steel and Bentonite test certificates if required Project Source

shall be obtained from the Subcontractor and, submitted for Engineer certificate
approval by the Consultant.

.6 Concrete Cube Testing:

Project
Cube results will be assessed and retained. The cube test Engineer/ Test result,
reports shall be clearly identified with the location of pour by Labtech. FOUN/04/A
reference to the checksheet.

.7 Testing of Piles:
Pile testing
The Subcontractor shall carry out a load test and integrity test Subcon. record
as specified in the Contract.

.8 Inspection of Work/Checksheet:

The work shall be inspected using the attached checksheet

as Appendix FOUN/04/A which shall be completed as QA/QC Checksheet
verification and record of compliance.

.9 Non-Conformity:
Non-
Non-conforming workmanship shall be notified to the Conformity
Subcontractor as Appendix 7/3/6/A and corrective action QA/QC Report
taken in accordance with good working practice and
Consultants approval.
