Around Town
Knitting Group meets every Thursday at Faking Sanity from 6:30 to 8:30pm.
Bring your knitting, crochet, or other handicraft and have some fun!

Seniors Computer Club will meet on Wednesdays beginning September 6th


from 11am until noon at the Coop Caf. Call Anne 250-782-4668 for more
information. Everyone is welcome to these FREE sessions!

Seniors Game Time at the Dawson Creek Public Library on Thursday,


September 7th 10:30 until noon. We meet the first Thursday of every month
Everyone Welcome!

Mile "O" Quilters Guild meets every Tuesday & Thursday at KPAC in Studio
#10 at 7pm.

Piecemakers will be holding their monthly meeting on Tuesday, September


5th at 7pm in the conference room at Tiger Stationers.

Exhibition Opening of Our Living Memory - a celebration of home.


An evening of multicultural music and dance performances at the Dawson
Creek Art Gallery on Friday, September 8th from 7 to 9pm
This event is free and open to the public.

The Peace Songwriters will be meeting at Faking Sanity on Tuesday,


September 12th at 7:30pm.

The South Peace Community Arts Council will be holding their monthly
meeting on Tuesday, September 12th at noon at the Calvin Kruk Centre for
the Arts.

The South Peace Historical Society will be holding their monthly meeting
in the Archive Room at the Calvin Kruk Centre for the Arts on
Wednesday, September 13th at 2pm.

The South Peace Art Society will be holding their monthly meeting
at the Dawson Creek Art Gallery on Thursday, September 14th at noon.

BP Art & Appie Night hosted by the Dawson Creek Art Gallery. Come enjoy
a beverage, some appies and explore your creative side! Monday, September
18th from 8-10pm. Tickets are $20 and are only sold at the Dawson Creek Art
Gallery. To register call 250-782-2601. Spaces are limited!

Around Town
Ladies Wine & Art Night at the Bin Top Studio at the Dawson Creek Art
Gallery. Come and enjoy a glass of wine in a fun and relaxed atmosphere
while learning to create different art projects and crafts.
Saturday, September 23rd from 7:30-9:30pm. Tickets are $20 each at the
Dawson Creek Art Gallery Call 250-782-2601 to register.

Glow Run/Walk Saturday, September 23rd at 8 pm. Your choice of 3km or


5km. Starting at the trail head at Tubbys Campground, going along the
Dawson trail. For more information click here.

Home Routes Concert Series featuring L`il Andy from Quebec - promoting
his new album Engines Burns, fusing 1930s Ole Opry country with
traditional folk. Monday, September 25th at 7:30pm at the Dawson Creek Art
Gallery. Tickets are $20 at the Art Gallery or at the door.

The Peace Songwriters Coffee House at Faking Sanity on Saturday,


September 30th from 6:30 to 9:30pm. Come enjoy some local music or sign
up for the Open Mic segment. They welcome spoken word and comedy!
Admission by donation.

The Peace Country Roots Group will hold their monthly meeting on Sunday,
September 24th at 1:30pm in the small building in NAR Park.

Friends of the Library meet on Monday, September 25th at 10am.

All shows take place at the Dawson Creek Art Gallery, known for its amazing
acoustics and intimate atmosphere!

Tickets are $20 (per show) OR purchase Season Tickets for $102 (only $17 per
show!). Tickets available at the Dawson Creek Art Gallery 250-782-2601.
Bonus Offer: season ticket holders will get reserved seating and have their name
entered into a draw for a CD by one of the groups performing this season!
Season tickets will be offered up until the first show on September 25th.

Ashley Foden The Kiwanis Child Care Centre is looking to hire


Manager
Kiwanis Child a casual substitute, with the potential for more
Care Centre hours for vacation coverage, and spring and
10401 10th St. summer break. You must be 19 years of age or

record check. You will be working with children
from 30 months to 12 years old and be
responsible for up to 15 children. Wage is
dependent on experience. If you are a great
team member and can work cooperatively with

to check out what how
the learning happens!

Any new families relocating to Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge or rural
locations within School District No.59 will have the opportunity to register children
at the school located in their catchment area the last week of August and beginning
of September. Catchment area information is located on the website under the
"Family" tab. Parents must provide proof of residency and birth certificate
information to register a student. Please contact the school if you have any
inquiries regarding student registration. Families living in rural areas may contact
the Transportation Department (250-782-2106) for school bus information.
