JOB DESCRIPTION
We are recruiting financial/credit analysts with proven experience in one or more of corporate finance,
project finance, infrastructure finance, or financial institutions, for ADB's Private Sector Portfolio
Management Division (PSPM).
PSPM is accountable for the management and reporting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB)'s private
sector loan, equity, funds and guarantees portfolio. The role contributes to the build-out and
development of a "best in class" portfolio management function. It involves:
specialized project and credit risk management for ADB's private sector portfolio of projects;
An understanding of how to conduct credit and valuation analysis in respect of corporate, financial
institutions and/or project finance transactions and an understanding of debt and equity products is
essential.
PSPM Analysts become involved with projects at the point of board approval, when deal information is
set up on internal systems and the processing of transaction-relevant tasks commences. The role holder
will work as a member of the deal team alongside dealing officers from both origination, (while the
transaction is signed and closed) and portfolio teams. Transactions transfer from origination units to
PSPM at the point of first disbursement. The role holder, as part of the PSPM team, will be responsible
for all risk and client relationship aspects of assigned transactions from first disbursement to final
repayment.
The role holder will need to possess good skills with respect to (i) a deep understanding of credit risk and
how financial, business and market dynamics impact individual project and portfolio performance, (ii)
active asset and project management (particularly important when things are going wrong and the risk
of loss arises) and (iii) client relationship management. The ability to multi task is essential.
The role involves working with borrowers, multiple Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD) staff
and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
