 Preface

Over the years I've created and documented several of my own drum groove ideas,
with many of the patterns inspired by legendary drummers. The Groove-Time
Library is the resulting compilation of these patterns.

This document contains the printed drum notation (with suggested tempos,
sticking, and style labels) and an Internet hyperlink to an MP3 audio file (computer
performance) for each pattern in the library. In addition to this document, a
collection of WAV, MP3, and MIDI sound files for each pattern is available online
for download (see http://www.JimDavisDrummer.com/GTL).

My purpose for creating and sharing the Groove-Time Library is to encourage its
use for your own practice routines, for help in creating original music, and for
inspiration to create your own patterns. This library will continue to grow with new
patterns, and new library releases will be reflected in the library version number
printed on the cover of this document. I hope you enjoy the patterns, and please
send me an email if you have found the library to have been of help to you or if you
have any suggestions/comments for future releases.
