Stewardship Thought: What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?

St. Francis of Assisi once said, Remember, you are what you are in the eyes of God, and nothing else.
We often forget this stewardship wisdom when we spend all of our time, talent and treasure to gain more
of the worlds riches. We need to set our priorities based on Gods values and not the values of the
material world.
Development Thought: Giving through your IRA: If you have an IRA and are age 70 or older, you
may donate any amount (up to $100,000), tax-free, directly from your IRA, to qualifying charities, which
includes our parish. This is called the IRA Charitable Rollover. Or, you may designate your IRA
Rollover gift for our parishs permanent endowment fund, through the Catholic Foundation of Eastern
Montana. For more information about making a gift directly from your IRA, please contact the Catholic
Foundation of Eastern Montana at 800-332-9998, ext. 120.
Drinking the Spirit
Drinking the Spirit is a great new opportunity for us to gather as adult Catholics to grow in our Catholic
faith and as a community. Each week we will have a different Catholic topic with a presenter. Questions
and discussions are encouraged. We are each responsible for our own "beverages" and or food. This
should be a relaxing and enjoyable way of learning about the Catholic faith. Please plan on joining us,
spread the word and bring a friend!
Our first Drinking the Spirit of the season will be October 10th at 7 PM at the Tin Cup.

Bishop Michael Warfel invites all Catholic high school and middle school students to attend the 2017
Catholic Youth Convention! CYC is a two-day, one night gathering of Catholic youth from all over Mon-
tana.

We are in need of more aides to fill in for those
who cant be there every week. Thank you.

adult group study, contact Brenda. We have
many different programs to choose from. Your
group can pick there own days, times and places
to gather. Small groups are a great way to grow
in your faith and your understanding of the
Catholic Churches teachings.
October 10th: Kick off for Drinking the Spirit
at the Tin Cup 7:00 p.m. This is for adults 18
and older. Everyone is welcome.
Evangelization
Evangelization, what does it mean? It means to bring The
Good News. Bring not only the message of Jesus but the
person of Jesus to all those we meet. Jesus wants a personal
relationship with you.
The Catholic Church exists in order to evangelize. We need
to use the grace given us to teach the Good News, if we
dont we lose our identity.
So how do we do that?
First step: before making new disciples, let us re-
gather those who are lost. Let us knock on doors and ring
bells and find the lost sheep, the ones scattered and astray,
and shepherd them home again. If we could find and regath-
er just those who left and have no connection with any
church at all, the Catholic Church would grow by 14%! If
we could help those who became Protestants to see the great
blessings and treasure awaiting them in their return home as
a Catholic, and they returned, we would grow by 18%! The
harvest is plentiful do we have any laborers?
We need to take the apostolate of seeking the sheep who are
scattered, the inactive Catholics, more seriously. Didnt
Jesus teach about leaving the ninety-nine in the wilderness
to go out in search of the one that was lost? We have 32% of
our flock wandering out therealmost a thirdand they
deserve to know that they are missed, and needed , and
wanted and loved by the Lord and by their brothers and sis-
ters waiting for them at home, in the Church. Its Time to Wake

How do we evangelize? We start with ourselves. Each of us
needs to be re-evangelized. Each one of us needs has to find
Jesus, meet Him and hear him deeply and be made new in
Him. Then we go out and be disciples. We reach out person
to person; small group communities like adult bible studies.
We pray them back, talk to them about faith and Jesus being
the center of our lives. Proclaim the basic story of Salvation,
the Gospel.
If each of us would go forth and evangelize even one or two
people who are lost, just think how much our parishes
would grow.
