DIESEL ENGINES.

The BMW X3 xDrive20d has an impressive output of 190hp (140kW). The combination of common-rail direct injection
and a turbocharger with Variable Vane Geometry, meanwhile, ensures plenty of torque. At the same time, the diesel engines
fuel consumption remains low, which is supported by the optional eight-speed automatic transmission with Steptronic.
This additionally provides higher shifting and driving comfort through nely tuned gearing and near-seamless gearshifts. Along
with the increases in fuel economy and comfort, the system also noticeably enhances dynamics.

BMW EfficientDynamics
Making light work of lower fuel consumption.

BMW EfcientDynamics is the BMW Group strategy that comprises all measures aimed at improving efciency while simultaneously
enhancing dynamics in every BMW vehicle. Since 1995, it has led to a 30% reduction in CO2 output across the European new-
vehicle eet, a gure that will fall by a further 25% by the summer of 2020.

Through tireless research, BMW is consistently producing innovations for the energy efcient mobility of the future. The
BMW X3, like every BMW, incorporates many aspects of the multi-award-winning BMW EfcientDynamics technology as
standard. These technologies interact perfectly to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions while maximising performance
and dynamism. Less fuel, more driving pleasure a paradox that BMW has resolved once and for all. For the benet of the
environment and the enjoyment of the driver.

Auto Start-Stop. Automatically switches off the engine when the vehicle is stationary. As soon as you engage the clutch
(manual) or take your foot off the brake (automatic), the engine immediately starts up again and your journey continues. And
without any effort on your part, youve saved fuel and helped protect the environment.

Brake Energy Regeneration. Now when you brake, you wont just be slowing yourself down, youll be helping to keep your
car moving. It sounds counter-intuitive, but whenever you apply the brakes or take your foot off the accelerator, you recycle
energy instead of wasting it. Brake Energy Regeneration then uses this energy to recharge the battery. In the process, it
reduces the demand on your engine which means you consume less fuel and keeps down your CO2 emissions.

ECO PRO mode. This mode enables fuel consumption to be reduced by up to 20% depending on your individual driving
style. For example, ECO PRO will advise the driver to accelerate less aggressively, the optional eight-speed automatic
transmission shifts even faster to higher gears and the automatic air conditioning is subject to energy optimised settings.

Electric Power Steering. In comparison with conventional hydraulic steering systems, the electric power steering support
only uses energy as needed to assist steering. When the steering wheel is static, for example when driving on a straight road,
the electric motor is inactive.

Optimum Shift Indicator. Changing gear at the right time can produce signicant fuel savings. In BMW X3 models with
manual transmissions, the optimum gear shift indicator tells you which gear you should select to increase fuel efciency.
The display is conveniently positioned directly in your line of vision. Depending on your driving style, the system also

The structure of the BMW X3 uses a wealth of high-tech materials. They include lightweight aluminium in the front and the

reduces the weight of the components and creates exceptional body rigidity for enhanced passive safety for the driver and

Standard Drive Performance Control lets the driver choose between the standard Comfort mode, ECO PRO mode, which
is geared towards efciency, and SPORT mode, which enables even more dynamic driving. ECO PRO adjusts the characteristics
of the accelerator pedal and transmission as well as the heating/air conditioning settings to suit the driving situation.

Optional Performance Control intervenes through engine control and targeted braking in corners, so more power is
distributed to the outer wheels and less to the inner wheels. This means that the vehicle practically turns itself, thus increasing
driving safety and comfort.

Optional Variable Damper Control allows the driver to adapt the shock absorber characteristics to suit the driving situation,
thus enhancing ride comfort and driving dynamics. Adds SPORT+ mode to Drive Performance Control for even more sporty
driving enjoyment.

Optional Variable Sport steering, with Servotronic, enables direct and agile handling with less steering effort. It reacts
according to the steering angle, and independently of speed, to improve handling during sporty driving. It also makes parking
more comfortable.

xDRIVE.

This system adapts perfectly to even the most challenging road conditions, ensuring outstanding traction at all times. With
xDrive and standard Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), the vehicle remains directionally stable and on track. Split-second
response times allow xDrive to distribute drive power exibly between the two axles for optimum grip. In this way, xDrive
combines the advantages of four-wheel-drive (traction, directional stability and safety) with classic BMW agility.

Adaptive Headlights with variable light control, including
