K-6 LANGUAGES NETWORK MEETINGS

Lifting Languages Promoting Languages Programs

K-6 Languages teachers across NSW are invited to attend one of the Semester 2 network meetings. These
sessions will address the important role of promoting languages and also provide an opportunity for
teachers to share their own expertise in this area.

Key outcomes
Consider the importance of promoting languages programs and its wide ranging benefits.
Identify strategies for raising the profile of languages programs within NSW primary schools.
Develop a personal Community Engagement Toolkit to assist in the promotion of languages programs.

School commitment
Teachers are asked to present a brief 3-5 minute presentation outlining one of the strategies that they
have used in order to promote the language program at their schools. Photos, videos and PowerPoint
presentations are welcome.
Schools interested in participating in this network need to be aware that they will be committing to a half -
day release for each participating teacher.
