Introduction

education. Teacher is the architect of the future. A student can get proper guidance by the

teacher. No one can deny the role of ICT in education. Smart classes, powerpoint presentations

and AV devices are becoming a handy tool for the educators to improve the effects of teaching

learning process. Technology is findings newer and newer ways to enter in our day to day life.

World is progressing rapidly with the help of computers in a very short time, Man has brought

about his own progress computer has become part of life and its scope is increasing day by day.

Computer is a must now one cannot do without computers eg. Education, Banking, Science,

Business, Sports, Tourism etc. in all these lines work has become difficult without computers It

is very useful and helpful in the teaching and learning process therefore,Computer have created a

revolution in the content of education and in the nature of learning process they have the

capability of multiplying the human intellect beyond part conceptions and have tremendous

implication in education. No one can escape the effect of technology in bringing in new changes

in our society. Nowadays technology is the main support for the students. Any source of

information can be easily accessed with the help of computer. Computer is the main technology

support as a tool for the learning process. Computer based instruction provides technical progress

in student learning process. That is why computer works as a productivity tool and has a great

role in education. Computer includes hardware and software which further works as a reflective

medium to education.Computer provides facilities and supports to students educational life.

Computers are nowadays working as an updated resources not only for education but also for the
social, cultural and economical life of the students. Higher Secondary education is the launching

pad for the students to reach the heights of success in future. It is this stage of education process

which introduces and strengthens the subject that helps the student to understand and analyse the

subject matter, which provides them future opportunities for career development and

employment sources. Computer has become one of the most important subjects to be learnt by

area of different subjects. It is left to the students to select subjects of their choice. However, the

selection of the subject depends on their utility and marketability. The subjects of computer

education possess both of these qualities and hence have become more popular and widely

acceptable. So computer knowlegde becomes a must for all the students, working class,

professionals and academicians. The present the researcher will try to find the attitude of higher

secondary school students towards computer edcation in context to certain varirables.
