Troubleshooting 20.60&20.

61
Explanation of error codes
20.60 = the controller reads low pressure when he expects to see high pressure
20.61 = the controller reads high pressure when he expects to see low pressure

Pressure feedback sensor signal:

1.1kOhm = High pressure = > 9bar
2.2kOhm = Low pressure = < 7bar
The signal is wired to Analogue Input 0 (wire 11)

The expectation of the pressure is completely dependant on the engine speed sensor.
Engine speed = we want to see high pressure
No engine speed = we want to see low pressure

Controllers action:
Controller goes in transmission shutdown mode. Total neutral solenoid is deactivated
and as a result no pressure is going into the valve. As soon as the error is active it is
useless to measure behind the total neutral spool.

Trouble shooting procedure

20.61
1) When you have 20.61 when engine is running Check engine speed signal on
display of APC200
Explanation: If engine is running we want to see high pressure. But if the engine speed
sensor is not functioning correctly then the APC200 doesnt expect to see high pressure.

2) When you have 20.61 when engine is not running Check pressure feedback sensor
signal
Explanation: If engine is not running you cannot have high pressure so there has to be a
problem with the pressure feedback sensor. Read resistance value from display of
APC200 in diagnostic mode. (Analogue Input 0, wire 11)
20.60
1) When you have 20.60 when engine is not running Check engine speed signal on
display of APC200
Explanation: If engine is not running we want to see low pressure. But if the engine speed
sensor is not functioning correctly and is indicating engine speed although the engine is
not running then the APC200 does expect to see high pressure.

2) When you have 20.60 when engine is running:

You can have the error due to following problems:

1) Main pressure is too low due to charging pump problem or suction problem

Check main pressure on port 31. Pressure should be 22bar.

If Main pressure is too low in N0 position at idle (You have N0 when the
shutdown is mode is activated as result from 20.60), then you should
check suction lines or replace charging pump.

2) Main pressure is too low due to clutch leakage

Check if error always pops up in same condition (=always same clutch(es)

activated). Then check clutch pressure on transmission case to detect
clutch leakage of specific clutch. Check main pressure reaction when
suspected clutch is activated. (Remark: as soon as error is flagged the total
neutral is deactivated and pressure is cut off to system)

3) 2 range clutches are activated at the same time

Check pressure on port 58 to detect if 2 range clutches are activated at the

same time. Note that during the up shift or downshift you will see pressure
for a short time due to the overlap between the 2 range clutches. This
should last max for 2seconds. If pressure lasts longer then 2seconds the
error 20.60 will be activated.
When 2 range clutches are activated you will read 10bar at port 58
Confirm activation of 2 clutches by measuring range clutch pressures

4) 2 direction clutches are activates at the same time

Check pressure on port 59 to detect if 2 directions clutches are activated at

the same time.
When 2 direction clutches are activated you will read 10bar at port 59.
Confirm activation of 2 clutches by measuring direction clutch pressures
5) Total Neutral spool is sticking in closed position

Total neutral spool is designed to cut off all pressure to the system in case
of a problem. It is a normal closed system for safety reasons. Check if
pressure on port 56 (behind total neutral spool) is the same as pressure on
port 31 (main pressure before spool).
Remark: perform this check when NO ERROR is activated!!! When
errors are active APC200 will close total neutral to protect the
transmission.

6) Pressure feedback sensor problem

If main pressure and main pressure behind the total neutral spool is within
specification and there is no pressure on port 58 and 59, then we could
have a pressure feedback sensor problem
