Problem Statement (simulation)

Designing heat exchanger is an important in the aspect of reducing

operating cost and can replaced the normal heating process by using heat
exchanging instead of applied additional work to the system. Despite its
efficiency, the exchanging area inside the heat exchanger to get the desired
temperature with the optimal efficiency must be considered and its complex.
For example, in the chemical industry, some reaction are exothermic
reactions. Like propenoic acid reacted with the alcohol (example, methanol) to
produce polypropenoates (in this case methyl propenoate with water as a by-
product). Because it is esterification, right temperature with catalyst is
required in order to fasten the reaction. The product later can be used for
exchanged heat before pre-heat by heater to minimize the energy
consumption of the heater. The geometry of the exchanger is mentioned
below. The inlet at the cold stream will be methanol with flow rate of 70 kg/h
at 25C and the hot stream will be the reacted methy -polypropenoates and
water that is reacted from the reactor, with 100 kg/h at 70C. The tube inlet
pressure (cold stream) and shell inlet pressure (hot stream) is 130 psig and 280
psig, respectively. Find the methanol outlet tempertature.per
