Supported by MHRD under GIAN (Global Initiative of Academic Networks)

September 1st-10th , 2016

Short Course on
Cognitive Radio and Wireless
Communication -
Theory, Practice and Security

Cognitive radio (CR) systems and networks are a revolutionary new concept
in wireless communications. Built on the novel software defined radio (SDR)
architecture, they have powerful signal processing capabilities to sense spec-
trum underutilization. The cognitive abilities in the embedded processors
emulate the human brain by continuously analyzing the radio scene through
an aggregation of external radio stimuli. These networks can thus dynamical-
ly allocate spectrum to multiple users thereby easing network congestion to
meet the growing wireless broadband demands of billions of users world-
wide. The 10-Day course under the GIAN (Global Initiative of Academic
Important Dates Networks) scheme of MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource and Develop-
ment), Govt. of India, will comprehensively cover several different aspects
