Title of the project A PROJECT REPORT ON EFFECTIVENESS OF TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT IN BANK OF
BARODA

Introduction and Objectives of the Primary Objectives To study training and development programmes undertaken by
study banks for their employees. To analyze e ectiveness of training and development
programmes for employees todischarge their duties. To study how training and
development programmes helps to achieve customer satisfaction.

employee performance in these banks was termed as one of the main causes of
problem in banks ine ciency. The main problem in this study is to what extent the
training impact over employee performance in the banks of Karachi. Karachi is one of
the core economy building regions in the country, the banks performance is
ine ective which disturbs the countrys economy greatly however the bank plays an
important role in the economic system of di erent countries. Therefore the
experienced employees are essentials for the banks in order to increase their
productivity. Therefore in this research the quantitative study examines how training
impact on the performance of employees in banks. Therefore from the literature
review the following problem statement is predicted: To evaluate the impact of
training on employees performance in the banking sector TRAINING Training is
concerned with imparting developing speci c skills for a particular purpose. Training
is the act of increasing the skills of an employees for doing a particular job. Training is
the process of learning a sequence of programmed behaviour. In earlier practice,
training programme focused more on preparation for improved performance in
particular job. Most of the trainees used to be from operative levels like mechanics,
machines operators and other kinds of skilled workers. When the problems of
supervision increased, the step were taken to train supervisors for better
supervision. DEVELOPMENT Management development is all those activities and
programme when recognized and controlled have substantial in uence in changing
the capacity of the individual to perform his assignment better and in going so all
likely to increase his potential for future assignments. Thus, management
development is a combination of various training programme, though some kind of
training is necessary, it is the overall development of the competency of managerial
personal in the light of the present requirement as well as the future requirement.

Methodology and References Every project work is based on certain methodology, which is a way to systematically
solve the problem or attain its objectives. It is a very important guideline and lead to
completion of any project work through observation, data collection and data
analysis . According to Cli ord Woody, "Research Methodology comprises of de ning
& rede ning problems, collecting, organizing &evaluating data, making deductions &
researching to conclusions." Accordingly, the methodology used in the project is as
follows: - I. De ning the objectives of the study II. Framing of questionnaire keeping
objectives in mind (considering the objectives) III. Feedback from the employees IV.
Analysis of feedback V. Conclusion, Findings and suggestions. SELECTION OF SAMPLE
SIZE In order to take a reasonable sample size and not to disturb the functioning of
the organization. A sample size of reasonable strength of the Company has been
taken in order to arrive at the present practices of training in the Company.
Accordingly, 50 o cers have been selected at random from all the departments of
the organization and feedback forms (questionnaire) have been obtained. The data
has been analyzed in order to arrive at present training practices in the organization.
SAMPLING TECHNIQUE USED The technique of Random Sampling has been used in
the analysis of the data/Random sampling from a nite population refers to that
method of sample selection, which gives each possible sample combination an equal
probability of being picked up and each item in the entire population to have an
equal chance of being included in the sample. This sampling is without replacement,
i.e. once an item is selected for the sample, it cannot appear in the sample again.
DATA COLLECTION To determine the appropriate data for research mainly two kinds
of data was collected namely Primary and Secondary, data as explained below:
PRIMARY DATA Primary data are those, which were collected afresh & for the rst
time and thus happen to be original in character. However, there are many methods
of collecting the primary data; all have not been used for the purpose of this project.
The ones that have been used are: I. Questionnaire II. Informal Interviews III.
Observation SECONDARY DATA Secondary data is collected from previous researches
and literature to ll in the respective project. The secondary data was collected
through: I. Text Books II. Articles III. Journals IV. Websites STATISTICAL TOOLS USED
The main statistical tools used for the collection and analyses of data in this project
is: I. Pie Charts (where is pie-chart) SCOPE OF THE STUDY Training E ectiveness is
the process wherein the management nds out how e ective it has been at training
and developing the employees in an organization. This study gives some
suggestions for making the present training and development system more e ective.
It gives organization the direction, how to deal di erently with di erent employees.
It identi es the training & development needs present among the employees.
