This specification covers Mccraw-Edison POWER DRAWER
Sports Light for use with 400-, 1000- and 1500-watt high inten-
sity discharge lamps.
POWER DRAWER Sports Light shall be catalog number (spec-
ify) ahd shall include ihe following features:
General-Unit construclion shall consist of a cast aluminum
holsing and door assembly which shall enclose the optical
components and a removable ballast drawer assembly. The
unit shal: be supported by a cast aluminum, adjustable, flat
surface mouniing adapter. lt shall be prewired with 3 feet of
3 wi.e #14 SO cord for connection to the power supply and
cord shall be held securely in pJace with a strain reliet bushing.
Housing*Shall be a single piece aluminum casting forming
a wate.tight shell. lt shall contain the eleclrical and optical
component compartments.
Housing Door-Shall be cast alum:num and shall hold a heat
and impact resistanl tempered glass lens. lt shall be gasketed
and hinged to the fixlure housing. lt shall be heJd in the
closed position by corrosion resistant captive screws.
Batlasl drawer assembly-Shall be a self-conlained removable
assembly and shall support the ballast, lamp socket and
polarized quick-disconnect power input plug.
ilat surfaco adapler-Shall be casl aluminum and shall sup-
port the fjxture hous:ng. The adapter shall have a calibrated,
vertical and horizontal adjustment and integrally cast sighting
marks for p.ecision aiming.
Opiical compartmenl-Shall contain the reflector assembly
and shall be enclosed by the lens and optical compartmen:
door assembly and housing.
Refleclor assembly-Shall be spun aluminum conslruction,
finished with Alzak. process. lt shall be shaped to provide
optimum beam paltern control wjth clear lamps.

Socket-Shall be porcelain enclosed and shall be adjlsted
to properly position a high-intensity discharge lamp to be
used with the ballast specified.
Lamp stabilizer-Shall be insulated and shall cushion the
lamp from shock oi vibration to eliminate breakage. ln con-
junction with the socket, it shalj maintain precision lamp
alignment.
Optical filtet-Shall be positioned between the housing fitter
and main housing allowing circutation of air through the op-
tical assembly and shall eftectively filter out external con-
laminants.
