Unidor versatility is attuned to today's lighting requirements

200- and 250-watt high-pressure sodium lamps. Model 400 adapts from 400-wati
mercury to 310- and 400-watt high-pressure sodium and 400-watt metal-halide
lamps. Original mercury installation keeps your inilial street lighting investment

Specifications
This specification covers McGraw-Edison U nidor luminaires
for use with 100, 175, 250 and 400-watt mercury lamps, 100,
1 50, 200, 250, 310 and 400-watt h igh-pressure sodium lamps
and 400-watt metal halide lamps. li is written so that it can
be modified to describe a particular unil by lin ing out those
ratings, words or phases which are not applicable.
The luminaire shall be lvlcGraw-Edison Unidor catalog
number (specify) and shall include the following features:
Upper housing shall be construcied of die-cast aluminum. lt
shall contain the mounting assembly, input terminal block
and shall be (with) (without) photocontrol receptacle. lt
shall have cast circular bosses on top to serve as level reler-
ences.
Support clamp and channel support guide shall be capable
of securinq the luminaire to lTa" through 2" pipe supports
without use of adapters or rearrangement of mounting
components. Clamping and level adjustment hardware shall
be external and shall be stainless steel.
Sliplitter bug shield shall be vinyl foam material and shall
prevent entrance of insects and birds through the slipfitter
opening. lt shall have an opening for 1%" pipe support. The
opening shall be slotted to accommodate 2" pipe support.
Terminal block for input power connection shall have
pressure-pad terminals and shall accept conductors

Lower power deck shall contain complete ballast assembly,
optical assembly and quick-disconnect plug for connection
'to input terminal block. lt shall be (with) (without) level indi-

Latch shall be double-action type and shall hold lower deck
and retractor to upper housing in lully closed position. lt
shall hold refractor 10 lower deck when in intermediate posi-
tion.
Reflector shall be constructed from corrosion-resistant
sheet aluminum, finished with Alzakl process. lt shall be
gasketed to provide a seal between the refractor and re-
flector.
Sockel shall be porcelain enclosed and adjustable to prop-
erly position a (mercury) (high-pressure sodium) (metal
halide) lamp.
Filter gasket shall be posilioned around the socket in such
a manner that it shall allow circulation of air through the

optical assembly and effeciively filter out external contami-
nants.
Relractor shall be prismatic borosilicate glass and shall
produce asymmetric light patterns, IES Type (ll) (lll) (ll-4-
way) with clear high-intensity discharge lamps.
NOTE: Acrylic and polycarbonate refractors available for
Unidor 250. l\,4aximum lamp rating for acrylic, 175 watts.
Polycarbonate available for Unidor 400.
Level indicator {where applicable) shall be built into lower
deck and shall indicate the amount of tilt of the luminaire
over range of 0 to 5 degrees in any direction. It shall be
visible in daylight to a distance of 50 feet.
