A CRITIQUE OF THE H:A:MDI BIN H:AMZAH AND HIS VIEW OF DH:UL QARNAIN
The identification of Dh:ul Qarnain is a problem like to identify the Teacher of Righteousness
[Truth] of Essene. There are several persons who are the candidates of being Dh:ul Qarnain, with
an other Possibility that he is an Unknown person of past who is beyond the books and
documents of History due to his specific character.
Alexander the Great is one of the candidates, Cyrus the Great is another candidate. How ever
some have some other characters. But H:a:midi in his thesis has presented an other alternative
and that is the founder of Chu Family in China.
In his thesis he first try to show that the person was the Monotheistic Monarch of Egyt known as
Amunhotep IV .
According to h, WHO IS THE VERY SAME PERSON AS Aten Akh:en .
History tells us that about 3,400 years ago (1392 BC) a child was born in the grand palace of the
Pharaoh on the banks of the Nile. The father was the most powerful Pharaoh, Amunhotep III
the same Pharaoh who wanted to murder Nabi Musa (AS) and was drowned by the Almighty
when he was chasing Musa (AS) and his followers. The prince was named Amunhotep IV, but
he changed his name to Akhenaten after becoming king (Pharaoh) in 1360 BC. Allah had given
him the status of Prophet in 1362 BC and he was quietly following Wah:da:niat (monotheism).
Once he felt powerful enough he publicly announced his belief. His mother, Tiye, also believed
in one God. After some time Akhenaten built a new city, Akhetaton, in the centre of Egypt and
forbade the worship of idols. According to the Holy Quran, Zulqarnain , the name Akhenaten is
known by in the Quran, was a nice, religious person and Allah had sent him as a messenger to
his people, the Egyptians. Zulqarnain lived in Akhetaton for about 12 years and then suddenly
he, his mother and all the inhabitants disappeared. This remains one of the greatest secrets of
Egyptian history. From 1342 BC on, Egyptian history opens a new chapter.
The Holy Quran has not given any further information about Zulqarnain (AS), his mother and his
followers after the building of this rampart and the rest remains secrets of Egyptian and Chinese
history. Mr Hamdi bin Hamza carried out extensive research and found that Yajouj and Majouj
consist of a sentence of six words in Chinese meaning inhabitants of the Asia continent and
inhabitants of the horse continent. In Chinese, Yajouj is known as Yajouren and Majouj as
Majouren. The author travelled extensively throughout China, meeting many Chinese historians.
He convincingly postulates that when Musa (AS) and the Pharaoh were arguing about Allah
Almighty, Pharaohs son AkhenatenAkhenaton (Zulqarnain) interceded and tried to convince his
father and other people to believe what Musa (AS) was saying. None other than a very important
and influential person could intercede in such a discussion. Hence, it must have been the son of
the Pharaoh. History or the Quran do not mention the departure or migration of Zulqarnain (AS).
It was most probably on the command of Allah that he migrated to preach that there was only
one God, the All-Mighty, All-Powerful and All-Knowing. The Quran says that Zulqarnain (AS)
first went to the place where the sun sets. The author has given convincing arguments that this
place is the Maldives Islands where there are hot sea currents. Anthropologists have also
confirmed that it was around 3,400 years ago that the first humans came to the Maldives. This
would coincide with the time when Zulqarnain (AS) reached there.

According to the Quran, Zulqarnain and his party then left for the place where the sun rises. The
authors research convinced him that this was the Kiribati Islands in the Pacific, thousands of
kilometres east of Australia. There he found the Sun Rise Hotel where, on Jan 1, 2000,

representatives from international agencies and many tourists had gathered to see the first rays of
the sun rising on the new millennium. These islands are now known as the Republic of Kiribati,
with a population of 100,000. We know that both the Maldives and the Kiribati Islands lie on the
Equator where sunrise and sunset times are more or less constant.

Mr Hamdi bin Hamza also visited the city of Zhenzhou in Henan County, China, where he found
a rampart forming a barrier between two steep mountains. It was seven km long, 36 meters wide
at the base, nine meters wide at the top and nine meters high. Chinese historians mention it as
being the First Great Wall. When Zulqarnain reached Zhenzhou city , the people there asked him
to build a barrier between the mountains to keep out the marauding Horse People (Mongols).
For this they were willing to make payment in goods. Zulqarnain politely refused to accept any
compensation, saying that the Almighty had provided him with enough resources and manpower
and that they should supply only the materials required. This consisted of steel pieces. This he
used to fill up the space between the two mountains. He then asked them to heat the whole until
it is red hot . When it was red hot, Zulqarnain asked them to bring earth , which was then poured
onto the red hot iron, turning the whole into a compact, solid mass. Zulqarnain and his people
were called Chu People by the Chinese, meaning alien or outsider.

Zulqarnain was accepted as their leader and established a kingdom there. After about 200 years
this became known as the Chu Dynasty and it lasted for almost 800 years. Mr Hamdi bin Hamza
believes that Zulqarnain and his mother and companions were buried in or near Zhenzhou city
and he hopes that some day archaeologists will find their graves in the same way as those being
found in Egypt 5,000 years after their burial.
May Allah Almighty shower His blessings on Mr Hamdi bin Hamza Al-Suraiseri Al-Johani and
his family for this excellent, noble work. Ameen.

This thesis has two part . The first part is that Dh:ul Qarnain was the Monotheistic Egyptian Monarch.

The second part is that he was the founder of Chu: Family in China.

The first part is weak and the Learned scholar has not provided any convincing proof that this Monarch was Aten Akh:en. So
this appears that this is just his conjecture and based upon his conjecture he has claimed such a thing. It is neither
supported by history nor by any religious book that Dh:ul Qarnain was an Egyptian.

One need more proofs then given.

First: It is required to shew that this Aten Akh:en all of sudden disappeared from Egyptian History and he was never heard
again.

It is noted that a number of Egyptologists do believe that Akh:en Aten died and his body was taken away from the place it was
placed first, and replaced to an unknown place. So one also need to discuss this hypothesis as well. It is claimed that Akh:en
died in the year 1334 BCE or 1336 BCEA, so it is required to Combat this claim.

How ever it is found that

Akhenaten, Neferneferuaten, Smenkhkare, Tutankhamun, and Ay were excised from the official lists of pharaohs, which
instead reported that Amenhotep III was immediately succeeded by Horemheb. This is thought to be part of an attempt by
Horemheb to delete all trace of Atenism and the pharaohs associated with it from the historical record. [59] Akhenaten's name
does not appear on any of the king lists compiled by later pharaohs and it was not until the late 19th century that his identity
was re-discovered and the surviving traces of his reign were unearthed by archaeologists.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akhenaten
If this is the case then this thing invigorate this claim to some extent that history of this person is in dark and he might not
have died but he went some where in the world for unknown reasons, or for reasons hypothesized by H:a:midi.
It may be the case he was never buried in the Tomb made for him.

It is said that

The Royal Tomb of Akhenaten is the burial place of the Pharaoh Akhenaten, in the Royal Wadi in Amarna.[1]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Tomb_of_Akhenaten

A flight of twenty steps, with a central inclined plane leads to the door and a long straight descending corridor.
Halfway down this corridor a suite of unfinished rooms (perhaps intended for Nefertiti). The main corridor continues to
descend, and to the right again a second suite of rooms branches off.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Tomb_of_Akhenaten

The corridor then descends via steps into an ante-room, and then to the pillared burial chamber where his
granite sarcophagus sat in a slight dip in the floor. It was decorated by carvings of Nefertiti acting as a protective
goddess, and by the ever present sun-disks of the Aten.
His body was probably removed after the court returned to Thebes, and reburied somewhere in the Valley of the
Kings. His sarcophagus was destroyed, but has since been reconstructed and now sits in the garden of
the Egyptian Museum.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Tomb_of_Akhenaten

So one may claim that there is no certainty that this person died.

Conclusion. This part is at best a Possibility and a Contingency but neither Probabale nor Improbable, , its probability is just
0.5 unless and other wise some more evidences are provided from either side.

Second: His mother Tyie was also disappeared from History with out leaving any trace.

Third: Who was his successor and one who succeeded his throne succeeded with out the proper death of him.

Forth: Was the Father of Aten Akh:en the Pharaoh of Moses?

With out these evidences it is very difficult to claim that the Egyptian Monarch left the throne and went on a voyage which
finally terminated in the Ancient China and Rescent People Republic of China.

So the first part of the claim is weak. It requires more proofs and evidences then provided. But one has right to make
contingency theories since they are often done .

Tiye, his mother. Twelve years after the death of Amenhotep III, she is still mentioned in inscriptions as queen and beloved of the king, but kings'
mothers often were. The few supporters of this theory (notably Immanuel Velikovsky) consider Akhenaten to be the historical model of legendary
King Oedipus of Thebes, Greece and Tiye the model for his mother/wife Jocasta.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akhenaten
An other thing which goes in invigoration of the claim is the following point:

The last dated appearance of Akhenaten and the Amarna family is in the tomb of Meryra II, and dates from second month, year 12 of his
reign.[49] After this the historical record is unclear, and only with the succession of Tutankhamun is somewhat clarified.

[49] Allen (2006), p.1

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akhenaten
So it is possible that he did not died but went on an expedition to unknown places.

Initially he was considered as the founder of Biblical Monotheisn but Redford concluded:
:

Before much of the archaeological evidence from Thebes and from Tell el-Amarna became available, wishful thinking sometimes turned Akhenaten into a
humane teacher of the true God, a mentor of Moses, a christlike figure, a philosopher before his time. But these imaginary creatures are now fading
away as the historical reality gradually emerges. There is little or no evidence to support the notion that Akhenaten was a progenitor of the full-blown
monotheism that we find in the Bible. The monotheism of the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament had its own separate development one that began
more than half a millennium after the pharaoh's death.[79]

[79] "Aspects of Monotheism", Donald B. Redford, Biblical Archeology Review, 1996

So this part is weak but not so weak that it can be regarded as some thing contrary to certain history.

The Second Part Of Thesis.

The second part of his theory is far more powerful and it is in accordance to Qura:n and Isla:mic teachings.

This founder is considered as an alien or a foreigner by Chinise Historians. This person made a wall in China.

Ya:ju:j Va Ma:ju:j are the Chinese words constituting a Chinese Sentence.

So one must find a neutral way or moderate way. This is to reject the first part and to accept the second part.

So we must accept the Chinese informations about the origin of this man instead of the claimed Egyptian Origin.

First: It may be the case that this person was of an Unknown Origin as according to Chinese Historians or his Origin is found
in ancient Chines History. In either case one must may accept the Chinese informations about this person after a Critical
Study of the Origin.

Second: We must consider both Possibility, whether he was a Prophet or He was not.

Third: It may be the case that his constructed Wall still exist or is destroyed yet in this case we have to take some Natural or
Theological interpretation of the Wall.

So it must be a better way to find a middle way between to parts rejecting the first and accepting the second.

It require more works on these lines.

Any How H:a:midi Hamzah is a great researcher and his findings have shed new direction in Qura:nic studies.
