1 Product Overview
Purpose of this document

7.0.60.
First read this Release Letter, then use the other documentation provided for more detailed
information (for a complete list, see "Documentation" on page 7).

1.1 Enhancements and Features

Overview
Alliance Web Platform Server-Embedded 7.0.60 patch includes all changes introduced in the
patches since release 7.0, as well as the following enhancements and new features:

Enhanced login user experience

Dedicated application for GUI packages parameters management

Support for Windows Server 2012 R2

Support for Windows 8.1

Support for Internet Explorer 11

Support for Firefox

1.1.1 Support for Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 8.1, and
Internet Explorer 11
As of this release, Alliance Web Platform Server-Embedded is also qualified using Windows
Server 2012 R2 Standard Edition. The Web Platform Administration package running in Alliance
Web Platform has also been qualified using Windows 8.1 and Internet Explorer 11. The
compatibility of other Web Platform GUI packages with Internet Explorer 11 depends on the
qualification of these GUI packages, and does not depend on Web Platform. See the release
letters of these GUI packages for more details.

1.1.2 Support for Firefox

The Alliance Web Platform Administration GUI is now also supported when using Firefox as
browser.

1.1.3 Dedicated application for GUI packages parameters

management
The Configuration Application GUI is revamped and extended with the possibility to manage the
configuration parameters of installed packages.
For more information, see the Alliance Web Platform Administration and Operations Guide.

Product Overview

1.1.4 Enhanced Login User Experience

With Alliance Web Platform SE 7.0.60, the end user will have the possibility to kill a previous
Alliance Access/Entry session during login. That feature prevents from having to wait for a
session time-out when your session got interrupted and you have no rights to open new
sessions. For more information, see the Alliance Web Platform Administration and Operations
Guide.

1.1.5 Support for Transport Layer Security

In line with market trends, Alliance Web Platform has been enhanced to use Transport Layer
Security (TLS) as a mechanism to secure TCP/IP flows.
The default usage of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) stays in place, to avoid impacting the way your
environment is set up.
In order to move your SWIFT environment fully to TLS and stop the use of SSL, you will need to
upgrade Alliance Access to 7.1 or higher, and SWIFTNet Link and Alliance Gateway to 7.0.40
(available later this year) or higher.
For instructions on disabling SSL and enforcing TLS, see the Alliance Web Platform Installation
Guide for AIX, Linux, Oracle Solaris, or Windows.
