end of our 1st week of school and I am pleased to say
that the children and staff have quickly settled back into
school routine. Myself and Mrs Eldars are the new
Principal and Vice Principal of Salmiya School, and we
look forward to meeting you all in the very near future.

We will be holding our first Parent Information Evening next week on Wednesday 20th

The Parent Information Evening will include an introduction from the myself and other
key staff as well as an opportunity for your childs teacher to explain in detail the
routines, expectations and outcomes for the term and year ahead. Please note that

possible at the Parent Teacher Conferences to be held later in the term.

Dear Parents,

It is my privilege and honour to welcome you all to the beginning of a new school year at
the English Primary Group. I always find this such an exciting time, for school leaders,
teachers and children alike and I am sure that you, the parents are also eagerly anticipating
the first day back.

For many of us, myself included, this is the start of a brand-new episode in our lives as we
join the team at EPG in Kuwait. It is an opportunity to bring all that we have learned from
every corner of the globe and to add to the richness, diversity and learning culture of this
wonderful group of schools. The organisation is a melting pot of established ideals,
traditions, cultures and systems to which we will add new ideas, skills and experiences and
I, for one, cannot wait to witness the result. One thing is for certain: we will continue to
Pioneer, to Educate and to Grow!

My aim for the next 3 years is to establish EPG schools as at least good and continually
improving as British Schools Overseas, as we become one of the leading groups of schools
in the Persian Gulf. You will have noticed many changes to the schools over the summer
months, in our bid to achieve these goals. In Salwa, a brand new and repurposed building

3
will house our largest school, whilst in Salmiya, we have a brand new leadership team to
steer the school on its path towards greatness.

I am delighted to be able to introduce to you our New Principal at Salmiya School, Mr

Matthew Bristow, who brings a range of experience from the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore and
and Malaysia. He will be ably assisted by his Vice-Principal, Miss Nancy Eldars, who has
extensive Middle Eastern experience from many years in British Schools in Cairo. The
school in Salwa continues to be led by our home-grown team of Mrs Daisy Lotta in the role
of Principal and Mrs Rachel Forbes as Vice-Principal.

All of us enjoyed the arrival of your children on Sunday morning. Our commitment to you
this year is to nurture those bright, energetic, curious young minds who, as yet, have no
idea what they are capable of. We will endeavour to unlock their potential this year and
allow our children to find out what they are capable of. To help them to achieve what they
still think is impossible. To instil in them a desire to reach for the stars so that, even if they
dont quite reach, they will still be over the moon!

In short, we will start this year with the attitude that anything is possible and that together
we can achieve more! I look forward to sharing the journey with your family.

My Kindest Regards,

Brett Neilson
Executive Principal Primary Schools
