I have recently decided to join full
time staff w/ Crusade’s outdoor ministry, Life-
lines. Here is a little more information about
the ministry.
Lifelines uses the outdoors as a
springboard for students to take further re-
sponsibility for growth that they would not
normally take in a campus setting. It is our
goal for students to experience the grace and
truth of the Gospel as they connect with each
other and God.
The outdoors combined with a qual-
ity, professional program enables the groups to
maximize and be responsible for their own
growth experience. Staff and student leaders
are trained in the art of asking questions, small
group facilitation, and the growth process
making them a key part of the success of the
strategy.
Thinking of Lifelines as only an
outdoor ministry misses the underlying con-
cepts that make it effective. Lifelines is a way
of doing campus ministry with preexisting
groups over a period of time to bring them to
Christ and start Multiple Movements. It gives
staff and students the ability to practice the
Evangelism Model and apply the Growth
Model in a wide variety of campus situations,
not only the outdoors.
Lifelines believes that through proc-
ess learning and group activities students can
make great strides towards understanding
themselves and the impact they have on those
around them. Equally important in that phi-
losophy is the belief that as spiritual beings
our relational growth won’t be incomplete
without a relationship with God. Just as all
people need food to survive so all people need
relationships with others and a relationship
with God in order to experience life at its full-
est.

 University of the West Indies
This spring break I had the amaz-
ing opportunity to accompany 15
other students and staff to the
University of the West Indies in
Trinidad. There is a large Mus-
lim and Hindu population along
with some strong Catholic roots.
We prepared our students for
challenging conversations but
after the first day most students
were much more comfortable and
confidant. They actually stopped
using the surveys and just started
walking up to people and sharing
the Gospel with them! It was
incredible watching our team
grow so quickly. As a team we
got to pray with six people to
receive Christ!
Arionne
On the second day we went to
Mt. Hope, the medical campus. My part-
ner, Akeelah, and I walked up to a group
of students and asked if they wanted to do
the Soularium with us. Only one girl,
Arionne, stayed to answer the questions.
As we continued our conversation we
found out that she was unhappy with her
life, her mom was Muslim and her dad was
Hindu and that left her confused and apa-
thetic towards religion. We started to pull

On our vacation day
we went to the beach in Tobago
where we took a tour of the
Buccoo Reef in a glass bottom
boat. Then we snorkeled for
free and some of us saw an octo-
pus! The water was warm and
crystal clear. We experienced
local foods such as roti, doubles,
mahi mahi and flying fish which
were wonderful and also tama-
rind balls, mauby drink and
pepper mango which were not as
wonderful but part of the cul-
tural experience.
It was a great time for
all of us to bond on our last day
of the trip. God really blessed
us with a group that meshed so
well! After the trip three stu-
dents were asking questions
about doing STINT (a year in-
ternship serving God overseas)
in the future, and a couple are
attending our summer projects
this summer!

go to lunch with a friend and was now
waiting for her next class to start. Praise
the Lord for answering our prayer in just
thirty short minutes! I walked her through
the Four Laws, answered some questions
she had and when I got to the last page I
asked her if she wanted to pray to receive
Christ. She said “yes!” so, as we sat there
in the parking lot, Arionne gave her life to
Christ!
 “I could not think of a better way to have
spent my spring break than on the beautiful island
of Trinidad sharing the love of my Savior Jesus
Christ with the students on UWI campus. I had no
idea what to expect and I was super nervous that I
would be talking to random people, but the Lord
completely opened my heart and made me comfort-
able about sharing Him with those who do not
know Him. I found myself thinking “If I can see a
movie I like one night and immediately rant and
rave about it to my friends the next night, encourag-
story
ing them to see it, how could I not share about My
Lord and Savior, who has changed my life in so
many ways?” The answer for me became quite
simple as the Lord revealed to me on the trip that I
was afraid of rejection. Ultimately, I could say “I Group picture taken with the UWI

Lindsay’s story_ ___________

I’m a junior at UF and have been involved with Campus Crusade since my freshman year, just as I was begin-
ning to live out my faith in Jesus. The two most significant components of Crusade for me have been being in a
community group and being a part of discipleship. Both have been challenging and life-changing.
Mindy Sue has been discipling me since September, and I recently got to go to Trinidad with her on a “Vision
Trip.” We roomed together, grew in our friendship, and even got to talk and pray with a Trinidadian student named Brlinda who
wanted to become a Christian. We’re talking with her via Facebook and are extremely excited to help her grow in her walk with
the Lord! The whole week was amazing, and being out of the country for the first time, my eyes were really opened up to the
world around me and what I had been ignoring. There is a need for Jesus Christ everywhere, and I’m starting to really consider
full-time missions after I graduate.
The vision of Campus Crusade seeks to bring students into a relationship with Christ, and that’s all that matters in this life. It has
always been in the back of my mind to think about being a part of Crusade for the rest of my life, but after this trip I cannot
think of anything I’d rather do than speak to students about Christ for a living, telling them how I’ve experienced Him person-
ally. Crusade has had an integral role in helping me to grow deeper in my relationship with God, which makes me want to con-
tinue to be a part of the whole movement for as long as possible, following God wherever He leads.
