Training methods
From the listed topics, I choose the following topics for which I will discuss more on the
For the first topic, we have to learn how to improve collaboration within a work unit. There
are various training methods available, as we learn from the Chapter 7. The best way to learn
training method. Hands on training methods are the one which requires trainees to be pro-
actively work on the required learning. The Hands on method includes some method like take
up a case study, do some simulation, play some business game, or similar other method
which requires active participation. Collaboration is also active participation with the
When one is stuck in some issue where one is not able to resolve it, like software
development team is stuck in some technical bugs, they take active help from other parallel
teams or experienced programmers. They provide the scenario or explain to other teams and
through the collaborative effort, they are able to solve the problem. So, trainee has to learn
the importance of improving collaboration within the work unit in order to perform well.
Other topic I chose is knowing about butterflies. In this topic trainee has to learn about
various species of the butterflies, their colours, appearance, habitat and other characteristics. I
think the best way to learn about the butterflies is to use the presentation methods.
Presentation method is the method where trainee is sort of a passive recipient of some info, in
this case about butterflies. The trainee has to learn more about butterflies, understand the
habitats and their characteristic. He or she does not need participate or work on some activity,
but, has to listen to some clips, attend some lectures or view some videos or presentations. So
lecture, audio-visual technique and similar presentation method is required. The best way is
to organize some instructor led classroom presentations which include some traditional
methods like power point presentations, traditional lecture sessions, YouTube or national
geographic channel videos, workbook & manuals, DVD and some slides or written materials.
