MINUTES OF DRILL/EXERCISE:
1700.1730 Master closed upon bridge, relived Chief officer, General
Emergency alarm sounded and announcement made on PA
system, For Drill fire in Galley. All crew mustered at muster
station with FFA equipments. Head counts was taken, all crew
accounted for. Duties asked, Report made to Bridge. Master
instructed to proceed the seat of fire. All actions as per F.O.M.
9.5.1
1700.1731 A) Ventilation closed to galley.
1700.1732 B) Electrical supply isolated.
1700.1733 C) Two nos. hose rigged, fire pump started, boundary cooling
commenced.
1700.1734 D) RPM reduced.
1700.1735 E)Seaman Saji donned the firemans outfit along with SCBA and
DCP fire extinguisher, pressure 200Bar. Same informed to bridge,
Master permitted fireman to enter galley.

1700.1736 F) Seaman Saji entered galley with all precautions with life line
attached.
1700.1737 G) After five minutes fireman returned back, informed fire was in
galley switch board due to overheating, same extinguished by
using fire extinguisher. Same reported to bridge.
1700.1738 H) master instructed to keep galley fully air tight and continue
boundary cooling, if there is any re-ignition of fire.
1700.1739 I) Seaman Saji again entered galley with SCBA , after five minutes
fireman returned back and reported there is no re-ignition of
fire.same reported to Bridge.
1700.1740 J) Drill called off and Master instructed keep galley close, damage
assessment will be carry out after wards.

DEBRIEFING OF CREW:
Crew briefed on the following aspect as per F.O.M.9.5.1
a) Raise fire alarm.
b) Call Master.
c) Inform Engine Room, reduce RPM.
d) Start fire pump and shut ventilation.
e) Locate the fire.
f) Crew stand by, prepare fire fighting.
g) Prepare LSA equipments.
h) Plot position and inform all stations in vicinity. Show applicable
signal.
i) Inform company in appropriate fastest way.
