Engineering configurations and installation

MicroStation home version

 MicroStation SE Installation.

Note: Since MicroStation SE in an older MicroStation version, it is

recommended to install MicroStation J or MicroStation V8.

For MicroStation SE installation, select;

pub\applications\supported\microstation\microstation_se\disk01\set
up.exe

Select all defaults, except when asked:

Select To install...
...all product files (some device-dependent Utilities will not install
Complete
by default)
...only the basic product files (note that some functionality may not
Minimum
be available if this option is chosen)
Typical
...the most frequently used components of this product.
(default)
It is preferred to select the complete installation, provided you have
enough disk space. If not enough disk space, select typical or
minimum installation.

After installation, copy the following:

\
pub\applications\supported\microstation\microstation_se\license\msj
_license\ustation.lic file to c:\win32app\ustation\license\
pub\applications\supported\microstation\microstation_se\ms-start-
batch\remap.bat to c:\winnt\profiles\all users\start
menu\programs\startup\

Reboot computer. Installation is completed.

 MicroStation J Installation.

For MicroStation J installation, select;

pub\applications\supported\microstation\microstation_j\ms_j\070101
57\microstation\install\setup.exe

Select all defaults, except when asked:

Select To install...
...all product files (some device-dependent Utilities will not install

by default)
...only the basic product files (note that some functionality may not
Minimum
be available if this option is chosen)
Typical

 MicroStation V8 Installation.

Note: MicroStation V8 is only downwards compatible through a

save as V7 dgn file.

For MicroStation V8 installation, select;

pub\applications\supported\microstation\microstation_v8\8000021\s
etup.exe

Select all defaults, except when asked:

Select To install...
...all product files (some device-dependent Utilities will not install

...only the basic product files (note that some functionality may not

It is preferred to select the complete installation, provided you have

v8.lic file to c:\ program files\Bentley\program\licensing\

If installation requires reboot of computer, log back in as

administrator to finish the installation.
 MicroStation printing / plotting

MicroStation plot configuration files are located in:

Pub\applications\supported\microstation\microstation_j\plotdrv\

Plot drivers are arranged by departments, building name and plotter models.
