The goal of this assignment is to train the student on using independent tools to validate the results of
his/her analysis. Generally speaking, independent tools here refer either to experimental tools such as
lab-based measurements, or software tools based on commercial Computer-Aided Design package.

In this assignment, you are required to use the MultiSim program (as the independent tool) to verify the
analysis results of the circuit shown in Figure 1. The circuit is identical to the circuit used in Assignment 2,
and, therefore, the analysis results obtained in that assignment (assignment 2) will be the target of
verification.

Assignment Steps:
1. Construct the above circuit in MultiSim.
2. Run the DC Sweep Analysis on the circuit in MultiSim from V1 = -8 to V1 = +8V.
3. Export the DC Sweep for the current I2 in the voltage source V2.
4. Write a Matlab program or a VISUAL Basic simple function program to generate the current
I 2.
5. Compare the data obtained from steps 3 and 4. A very good match indicates that the results of
the analysis are correct and that the circuit constructed in MultiSim is a true representation of
the circuit schematic in Figure 1.

Submission Instructions.
Upload the following two files to your Blackboard account by the specified deadline.
(DO NOT Compress the file into one ARCHIVE file)
1. The MultiSim file you used in in your simulation. The file MUST be named by your last name and
student ID. For example, Gad_12345678.msxx.
2. A PDF file that shows a comparison between both approaches: the analysis-based approach
obtained from the circuit analysis, and the simulation-based approach obtained using MultiSim.
The comparison should be in the form of a graph plot that shows the data from each approach
superimposed on each other versus the voltage V1. The graph plot should clearly indicate the two
approaches by using two distinctly different legends to represent the data from each approach. The
file should be named using the last name and the Student ID, e.g., Gad_12345678.pdf.
