The FTP provided me with an opportunity

achieve the level of Chief Electrician with
Transocean in the shortest possible time
span. The FTP training courses covering
everything from safety to motor control
systems were all professionally presented by
experienced instructors and included a lot
of hands-on modules. Even with previous
deep level mining and Merchant marine time,
the oil industry presented its own unique
challenges. The time spent on different
rigs shadowing the Chief Electrician gives
you a real feel for what you can expect on
the job and also the expectations of the rig
personnel from you. The FTP provided me
with the skills and confidence to assume
the role of Chief Electrician in India, where I
am thoroughly enjoying my career change
with Transocean thanks to the FTP.
CHARLES MCARTHUR, Chief Electrician

I found the FTPchallenging and rewarding.

During the FTPI completed many courses,
which assist me both practically and
theoretically with my duties as a Chief
Electrician. During my time in the FTP, I was
able to experienceworking in the shipyard
as well as different types ofrigs and vessels,
which extended my knowledge and skills as
an electrician.
