Your grade is based on your understanding of each standard that will be covered
this year. You will receive an average for each unit which will contribute to your
Grading final grade. Progress reports and quarterly report cards are snapshots, you will have
the opportunity to improve your grade on any standard throughout the year.

Preparing and Inspiring Students to Succeed in the 21st Century
Class will be divided into blocks of time spent working as one large group, several smaller
groups and as individuals. The classwork problems assigned are very important, do them! You
must SHOW ALL WORK for every assignment. The classwork grade also includes participation
and being prepared for class (textbook, pencil, paper and any other materials that may be
relevant to that day in class).
To receive full credit homework must be complete (work shown for every problem) by the
beginning of class on the due date. Effort is more important than accuracy on these problems,
so if you get stuck at home write down what questions you have and what ideas you tried. Late
homework only earns half credit unless you were absent.
Quizzes will cover the material you have been studying over the past couple days, but will also
assume that you know everything from previous chapters as well. Mastery Checks are on an
entire unit and will include application problems incorporating multiple concepts from the
course.
Required Materials:
Writing utensil
Binder with dividers
Index cards
Spiral notebook
