Important Notice

Beginning on Tuesday, September 26, the NYCDOT, Division of Bridges will resume work on Metropolitan Avenue. Work associated with Stage 1 had commenced in February but was paused in July to accommodate MTA construction of the M Line, which was completed September

1 st .

In order to commence work on Metropolitan

Avenue again, the contractor will reduce the lanes from two (2) to one (1) in each direction, and construction will take place behind a barrier located on the north side of the avenue. Roadway striping and temporary traffic signal installation will also take place to reinstall the barrier on Metropolitan Avenue.

All traffic restriction signs will be placed and Traffic Agents are already posted at the intersection of Metropolitan Avenue and Fresh Pond Road. Please refer to the Traffic Changes Brochure to review our detours.
