Corporate Social Responsibility

At Jindal Steel & Power Ltd, the Corporate Social Responsibility approach is beyond philanthropy.
The objective of CSR is to improve the Quality of Life of the Community on a sustainable basis in
an inclusive development model. For assessing the community need for a realistic and sustainable
development, a socio- economic survey of the community was conducted. Based on the survey
results, the CSR interventions have been taken up by adopting a partnership mode with the
Government agencies, Community based Organizations and the local community at the grass root
level. Sustainability of the interventions and its impact are being ensured by inducting community
ownership in to all the initiatives as detailed below, which are being managed by self-supportive
community based institutions. The CSR Projects are being conceived on a collaborative mode with
the Govt. Agencies and being implemented on a partnership mode with the local community.
