Acceleration Field

4.15 A three-dimentional velocity field is given by u 2x, v -y and w z. Determine the

acceleration vector.

4.17 A steady, incompressible, two-dimensional velocity field is given by the following components in
the xy-plane:
u 1.12.8x 0.65y v 0.98-2.1x-2.8y

Calculate the acceleration field (find expressions for acceleration components ax and ay), and calculate the
acceleration at the point (x, y) = (2, 3).
Flow Visualization:
Streamlines:
4.5 The x and y components of velocity for a two-dimensional flow are u = 9y2 ft/s and v = 3 ft/s, where x
is in feet. Determine the equation for the streamlines and graph representative streamlines in the upper
half plane.
