SET 1

Last Sunday, a family moved in next to Sitis house. Siti and her family helped to carry the
boxes and bags into the house. Everyone was very happy to have a new neighbour. Then
their new neighbour invited Siti and her family to some refreshments. They thanked them for
their help and they were very happy to have a hepful neighbour. They talked about
everything under the sun. The next day, Siti and her new neighbour went to school together.
They were very happy to keep each other company.

Set 2

Last Monday afternoon, Anand walked home from school as usual. On his way home, he met
two tourists. The tourists asked him where the food court was because they wanted to go for
their lunch. So Anand took the tourists to Newtoon Food Court which is a stoness throw from
his school. When they reached the food court, the tourists invited Anand for lunch. Anand
declined the invitation. The tourists gave Anand a fridge magnet for remembrance and
thanked him for his help. Then Anand continued his way home. He walked home happily and
showed his parents the fridge magnet. His parents were very proud of him.

Last December, Mei Ling and her family went to the mangrove forest at Bandar Hi,ir coatline
to watch the migratory birds. They started their journey at the crack of dawn. Mei Ling and
her brother were very excited because it was their first time there. Soon they reached their
destination. There were many people. They chose a good spot and took out their binoculars.
They saw flocks of egrets landing at the mangrove forest. Mei Ling saw some men taking
pictures and another man painting the beautiful scenery under a tree. It was a beautiful sight.
After watching the birds, they went for their lunch at arestaurant in Melaka Raya. Tehn they
went for some sightseeing in Melaka Raya before returning home. It was an educational and
interesting trip for everyone.

Last Sunday, Amelia went for her music lesson as usual at Music World Centre. On her way
out of the centre, a man gave her a flyer. The flyer was about a talent contest. The prizes
were very attractive. At home, she showed her parents about the flyer. She decided to take
part in the talent contest. She practised very hard and her parents helped her. Soon the day
of the com petition arrived. She was very nervous. She went up the stage and sang very
well. Her voice was like a voice of a princess. Eveyoned was mesmerized by her and they
clapped their hands loudly. At noon, the emcee announced the winner of the contest. Amelia
won the the first prize. She went up the stage to receuve the prize happily. Her parents were
very proud of her.

Set 5

Last Sunday, Farah and her family went on a holiday. They packed their clothes and put the
luggage in a taxi. Then they went to KLIA to catch their plane. Everyone was in high spirits
about the holiday. At around 1.00 pm, they reached the KLIA. They had their luch there while
waiting for departure time. After lunch, they checked in and walked to the gate. The flight to
Beijing took six hours. Farah was very excited because it was her first time to be on a plane.
In Beijing, Farah and her family visited the Great Wall of China. They took a family photo at
the entrance if the Great Wall of China. Her mother brought some souvenirs for their friends
back home. It was an interesting and memorable holiday for everyone.

Last Saturday, Samuel and his school scouts took part in the Plant a Tree campaign
organized by The Malaysian Nature Society. They went to Klebang Beach by bus. They
brought along some spades and hoes. Everyone was in high spirits. At 10.00 a.m, they
reached their destination. A man from the Malaysian Nature Society briefed and gave them
100 young trees to plant. Samuel and the scouts had to plant the trees along the road. Soon,
they started their job. In the late of afternoon, they finished their job. They had some light
refreshments. Everyone was happy as a lark because the place was full of trees.

Set 7

Last Sunday, Leela and her father went to amobile phone shop because her father wanted to
buy a mobile phone for her birthday. After buying the smartphone, they walked home as the
mobile phone shop is just a stones throw away. On the way home, Leela and her father saw
an old tree falling across the road. It fell on top of a passing car. Leela and her father helped
the lady driver. Luckily the lady driver was not hurted. Without delay, Leela used her new
smartphone and called the police. After a few minutes, the police came and directed the
traffic. The municipal workers sawed the tree trunk and cleared the road. Soon the public
was able to use the road again.

Last Monday evening, Syafiq, a Year Two boy walked home from school as usual. He was
walking home alone. On his way home, he met a bully from a neighbouring secondary
school. The bully asked him for his pocket money. Syafiq did not have any money left for he
had spent all bhis money in school. So the bully told him to bring RM10.00 the following day
and let him go. Syafiqs face turned white with fear and ran home. At home, he told his father
about the incident. The following day, Syafiqs father met the bully. He told the buly what he
did was wrong and advised him. The bully was ashamed of himself and from that day
onwards, he turned over a new leaf.

Set 9

Last Friday, Amy went to the school canteen as usual because it was recess time. Her
mother prepared some deliecious tuna sandwiches for her. There were six sndwiches
altogetehr, packed nicely in a lunch box. At the school canteen, she bought a glass of cold
drink as the day was hot. She chose a table at the far end and sat down to enjoy her food.
While whe was eating, she saw her classmate, Leela standing alone with no food. Quckly,
Amy called Leela and shared the sandwiches with her. Both children ate the food happily.
Leela than ked Amy for the food. Soon, the bell rang and both of them walked back to their
classroom.

Abu and Ali were neighbours. Both of them were rubber tappers. They worked and lived in
the rubber estate. They were very good friends. Every morning, they cycled to work together.
They became good friends. One day, Abu was knocled down by a motorcycle while cycling
to work. He was hospitalised for a week. Abu s wife had to stay in the hospital to look after
him. Ali took care of Abus three children when he was in the hospital. Abu s children really
liked Alis family. They were very kind and helpful to the children. They ate and play together
with Alis children. Alis wife cooked food and even washed their clothes for them. After a few
weeks, Abu was discharged from the ward. He was so thankful to Alis family for taking care
of his children. Later, as a token of appreciation, Abu treated Alis family to a dinner at a
famous seafood restaurant in town.

One day, zahid decided to go to a park which was near his village where he lived. When he
reached the place, he sat down on a bench under a shady tree. As he was very tired after a
long walk, he fell asleep while taking a rest. Suddenly, Zahid was awakened by buzzing
sounds near him. He thought there were mosquitoes and chased them away. Then the
sounds became louder and louder. When he opened his eyes, he was shocked to see a
swarm of bees flying around him. He quickly got up and ran as his legs could carry him. The
bees were chasing him. Luckily, there was a lake nearby, so he jumped into the lake. The
swarm of bees then went away.

Every Saturday, Aminah accompanies her mother to the market. She enjoys looking at the
fresh vegetables and fish. The market is usually crowded int he morning. Many housewives
will be buying fish, vegetables and meat. Aminahs mother usually buys fish, meat and
vegetables. Sometimes she buys fruits and some groceries as well/ aminah helps her mother
to carry the things. Her mother likes to bargain with the sellers. After buying all the things,
Aminahs mother will buy a bowl of noodles and a cold drink for Aminah. She loves to eat at
the market stall.she enjoys watching people buying and selling things int he market. Then,
they take a bus home.

Set 13

Yesterday, Rosli and his friends were walking home after a football game. Suddenly they
saw a purse on the ground. One of the boys picked up the purse and opened it. They saw a
womans identification card, a bank card, a credit card and alot of money in it. At the police
station, they explained to the police officer how and where they found the purse. As they
were about to leave, a woman walked frantically into the police station. She reported that she
had just lost the purse. The boys heard her and they waited to see if she was the owner of
the purse. The police officer checked her details and found that the purse was indeed hers.
The officer handed the purse to the woman. She was so happy and relieved. Then the officer
told the woman that her purse was discovered by the boys. She was so grateful at the boyss
honesty. She offered the boys some money as a token of appreciation for their kind deed.
They boys refused to accept the money but glad that they had helped someone that day.

Set 14

The English Language Club visited the Well Care Orphanage last Sunday. Many parents
donated a lot of presents and food for the orphans. A wealthy bussinessman donated ten
bags of rice. Others donated packets of instant noodles, canned food, cooking oil and milk
powder. Some pupils bought small presents for the children there. Other than donating food
to the orphanage, the pupils worked as a team to clean up the place. The pupils helped to
mop the floor and wash the bathroom. Some even helped to clean the drains and trim the
plants around the bush. After that, they threw a small party. The pupils ordered food and
drinks from a caterer with the help of their teacher. The pupils and the orphans ate and drank
together. Some of the children sang songs and played games. The pupils returned home
feeling very happy that they had done a worthy cause.
Set 15

Last school holidays, my family and I went to Pulau Tioman. My father drove us to Mersing
and from there we took a ferry to Pulau Tioman. The ferry ride was long and scary because
the currents were very strong. However, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery throughout our
journey. Upon reaching, we took a shuttle bus to our chalet. Then, we went snorkelling. The
water was crystal clear and we could see many fish and different kinds of corals on the
seabed. At night, we had seafood for dinner. We ordered black pepper crab, butter prawns,
steamed fish and smoked clams. We enjoyed our food as it was very delicious and
affordable too. That was one of th ebest vacations i had with my family.
