Keep in mind while you read this story I am going to tell you that it is mostly from medical records

and
family as I don't remember much before or after the following incident.

I was scheduled to have my wisdom teeth extracted by "Dr" Danny A Sadakah DMD and put under
anesthesia by Mr. Leslie Sturgis CRNA on June 19th, 2014. My son, who was 5 years old at the time,
was with me along with his grandfather who would have been taking me to and from the dentist office.
The name of the office (which has around 6 locations) is called Soft Touch Dental. I do not remember
going to the office or anything within a week prior to the visit. The only thing I remember is waking up
and being really confused. Everything I saw was extremely bright. People were yelling at me (from my
point of view). I didn't know where I was, what year it was or that I had gone to the dentist. I had lost
10 years worth of memories which means I didn't know I had a son or anything like that. I thought I
was in Chicago. So where was I? I was in the ICU at Emmanuel Hospital in Portland, OR. My mother,
2 sisters, and father were there who live in Las Vegas and Indiana. The admitting ICU doctor called my
mother (prior to my family arriving) asking her to come to Portland as they had just admitted me, was
in a coma and wasn't sure how long left I had to live. I found out that the people (who were family and
doctors) who were "screaming" at me were not screaming but merely getting my attention to see if I
was brain dead. They were trying to see how alert I was. There isn't much to tell at this point in the
story other than I was in a coma for 3 days and ICU for a total of 8 days. I remember a few things here
and there for about 3-4 months following the botched dental incident. This was for the duration of my
stay while I was being taken care of by my family in Las Vegas. Keep in mind I was living
independently in Tualitan, watching my son part time and going to school full-time. I was ripped from
all of that to live in Las Vegas while my family took care of me and went to speech, swallow and
physical therapy. I was paying for an apartment I wasn't living in. We were advised by some of the
hospital staff to obtain a lawyer because it was a medical malpractice lawsuit. Here are key points of
what went wrong at the dentist. These are facts, not opinions.

My physical status is at a level III. According to many medical sites, my teeth should have been
extracted in a hospital setting and not an office.
The dentist never obtained my medical history before extracting wisdom teeth (even though
they took into consideration I have severe scoliosis, sleep apnea, and pectus carinatum.)
No pre-op notes were recorded.
The anesthesiologist had no monitoring equipment when I went under.
Anesthesiologist never took my vitals before going under.
Anesthesiologist lied under oath (perjury) during a deposition. He said he had an end-title Co2
monitor but couldn't produce a make, model or tax information on having one. He couldn't
provide evidence of ever using one on any of his previous patients.
It took them (dentist or anesthesiologist) 47 minutes to call 911 after I went into distress.
I had no blood pressure.
My son saw me transported into the ambulance "practically dead"
Anesthesiologist did not place IV properly so when EMS came, they placed their own in the
"correct way"
No IV fluids were given or charted during extraction.
Nasal trumpet they had was coming out of my mouth when it is supposed to be in my nasal
passage.
Oxygen mask was not secured on my face so air was escaping the sides of my mouth (air was
not going into my lungs)
The office does not have proper resuscitation gear.
The dentist said he is not required to be able to resuscitate someone as it is out of his scope.
According to the experts on my case, "The PFD record gives us, even more, insight into how
ill-prepared Mr. Sturgis was to take proper care of Mr. Hammond. It also into question Mr.
Sturgis' ability to deal with common everyday problems that arise in anesthesia practice. His
lack of preparation for the most common of anesthesia complications (respiratory arrest) is
alarming and in my opinion grossly negligent." That is from LimeLight Group LLC
Mr. Sturgis gave me "standard doses" of the anesthesia drug and didn't take my weight or height
into consideration.

The attorney that took my case was George Curtis whom I do not think did his job. Some quotes he
made to my mother and I were "do you expect me to look through your file" and "that's why they pay
me the big bucks" though knowingly he pays "experts" and staff to do his job, asking me multiple times
for the same documents. The only person doing their job was a lady named Mo. Even when we went to
mediation, Mo was looking over everything while my attorney sat back in his chair. My attorney didn't
speak up one time. Mo did all the speaking. My attorney wanted me to settle for 25k when we were
originally asking for 2.66 million. How does a case go from 2.66 million to 25k? I even tried to get a
new attorney and the first thing everyone asked me was what my permanent damages were. Cases don't
get justice. They only care about the money and not doing the work. I was also curious to see what kind
of reviews my attorney got on Yelp and came across this post from a former employee.

"This mill of a law firm is only concerned about one thing: making money. As a former employee, I
became VERY concerned for injured clients since the partners make the employees do everything
without double-checking the work for accuracy. Apparently, it's easier to blame others for mistakes than
it is to ensure that good work is done. I never once witnessed either partner show genuine compassion
for their clients or employees. They are verbally abusive, self-absorbed, and about as willing to extend
help as a hungry spider helping a fly trapped in its web. Mr. Zbinden called me "stupid" more than once
while I worked there, and George Curtis cut me off many times when speaking about a case by saying
"ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch" and wagging his finger at me--so disrespectful!

Despite having 700+ open cases, these guys keep taking on more and MORE cases, further burdening
the support staff and exposing them to potential liability issues with having too many clients and not
enough staff to give each person the representation they deserve. They mispronounce clients' names (or
give them offensive nicknames), take frequent vacations despite the heavy workload, and pay more
attention to large six-figure cases than injured people with lower value cases. Their longtime office
manager has Stockholm syndrome, which is sad but understandable since she's never worked anywhere
else. I was glad to quit this firm when I did or I would've become an angry, bitter person for life.

By the way, Megan H., the person who reviewed this firm with 5 stars, is Mr. Curtis's fiance. They met
at this firm while Mr. Curtis, a married man at the time, represented her. His infidelity led to a costly
divorce, which evidently the firm paid for since employees received a lump of coal (nothing) in 2015 as
a Christmas bonus, later saying they had no money because of his divorce. If that isn't a clear testament
to their values, I do not know what is." Megan H, by the way, is George's fiancee who gave them 5
stars after this former employee posted this. I also know 2 other former employees who have confirmed
these accusations and reviews/reports. Both who had to quit because of the torture him and his team
were putting on them.
