Madden 18 Online Glitches, Cheats

XBOX ONE/PS4
Just Glitches:
1) HB Pass Glitch Pure Cheese - One Way
a) Play: I Form Tight HB Pass (Custom: Many Others).
b) Left Hash run play as is, on the Right Hash, Flip play. Set everything opposite.
c) Place FB on Wheel Route.
d) Place Right Outside WR on an Out Route going right.
e) Look for the FB in front of RB, or Left Side TE
Dont try running with your RB, he is sluggish with this play. A Nice Gain most times if you
get a pass off with your RB.vIf you see the Strong Side is Heavy, you might not want to run
this play, you could get tackle easy from the edge. I would not abuse this play, throw in
every now and then, if used often, they will get your RB in backfield.

2) HB Pass Glitch Pure Cheese 2nd Way
a) Play: I Form Pro HB Pass (NE PB)
b) Place TE on an Out Route, then Smart Route. Snap Ball.
c) Man, TE, Left Outside WR
d) Zone, Cover 2, TE.
Cover 3, TE, Left Outside WR.

3) Base Align Formation Glitch
a) Example Plays: Gun Trio /Gun Trio/Gun Trips TE Formations.
b) You need to try in practice mode to see with and without Base Align.
c) If your opponent does not use Base Align, then place your RB on a Wheel Route.
d) Place your Left Inside WR on an Out Route going left, then extend his route.
If your TE is on a preset Corner route going right, leave him on that route.
This allows for your TE and RB to get open and should only have one on one coverage
d) If your opponent uses Base Align, there will be many coverage gaps for the Left
Side WRS, allowing for them to get open.
If you notice the Left Inside WR will have separation, from his defender, can be a nice gain
These two formations will allow for you to march down the field, if your opponent tends to
keep using Base Align.

4) Deep Ball Instant TD Glitch Coverage Glitch

a) Come Out in Tight Formation, best if on Left or Right Hash Mark. Example
Formation: Gun Tight Offset TE (Saints PB)
b) If you notice your opponent is using Base Align Defense
c) Formation Audible to a Spread Formation (Square PS4/X XBOX ONE).
d) Pick any play that has Streak or Deep Crossing Routes. Snap Ball.
If your opponent used Base Align, one of your WRs on Streak or Crossing Routes, should get
open. Try this in practice, to see what formation works for you.

5) Route Swapping Glitch Madden 18
a) Pick any play with a 3 WR set,
b) Example Play: Shotgun Gun Double Offset Angle Smash (Customs PB).
c) Sub RB or TE as Outside WR positions.
d) After you pick play and you come out of the Huddle, Flip the Play.

6) Route Swap Motion Glitch
a) Example: Gun Doubles Flex Pats Z Spot - it can be any passing play that has
Outside WR on auto motion route and 3 WR Set (New England PB).
b) Sub in best TE at Left Outside WR. Flip Play as players are breaking huddle.
c) Reset Play, then reset play again, after they are set.
The TE you sub in, should be at Left Slot WR, and after last reset, the motion route will be

7) Glitchy Running Play One Way
a) Play: Single Back Wing Pair Counter Weak (Arizona PB)
b) Slide Protection Pinch. Snap Ball, most times the Left Side should have a huge
opening.
Most times the defense will align, to the Strong Side of the formation, leaving the Left Side

8) Glitchy Running Play 2nd Way
a) Play: Single Back Wing Pair HB Stretch (Arizona PB)
b) Playmaker the Run to the left.
c) Slide Protection Pinch. Snap Ball, most times the Left Side should have a huge
opening.
Most times the defense will align, to the Strong Side of the formation, leaving the Left Side
open. Only do this run, depending on how the defense is lined up.

9) WR Motion Route - Man Defense Glitch

a) Example Play Single Back Ace PA FK Quick (Customs PB).
b) No Adjustments, You might want to Hot Route either TE to drag or slant (for
dump off route). DO NOT TAKE RB OFF PLAY ACTION - IMPORTANT
c) Snap Ball, if Defense is in Man, after Play Action, the motioned WR should be
wide open, if the Defense is not in Man Cover 2, could be an instant TD.

10) HB End Zone Dive Glitch
a) If you are in a Goal Line situation, running the ball.
b) Pick any running play, EX: I Form Pro HB Iso (Most Playbooks)
c) As you run toward the pile and if no one has engaged the RB
d) Before you get to the pile, press LT/L2 then X (XBOX ONE)/Square (PS4).
f) Your RB most times, should leap over the pile and get the TD.
This seem glitch and rare for your RB to fumble, if at all. The majority of the time, if done

11) TE Speed Burst Glitch
a) Example Play: Gun Doubles Any Passing Play (Customs PB)
b) Place TE on Slant, then motion him left. Snap Ball right when he sets
If snapped correctly, TE should come off line with a nice speed burst. You can only do this
from formations that will let the TE motion to other side of Offensive Line, then will set a

12) TE Screen Delay Glitch
a) Play: Gun Open Flex WK PA FL Screen (Packers PB)
b) Motion TE right, then back (he should be on swing route) Snap Ball.
c) Watch the TE, many times he will get to sidelines wide open.

13) Disconnection Glitch

a) Play in a Head to Head Online Game
b) You can do this at any point of the game.
c) While playing the game, view your Dashboard Menu on your PS4/XBOX ONE to
view other Apps, such as YouTube, etc.
d) Click on You Tube App (example, can be another app)
e) You should see a message, mentioning it will suspend Madden App. Sometimes it
will ask you to suspend Madden, press Yes, other times it might automatically
suspend without asking you, depending on the App you open.
f) After you see the suspending message. ASAP go back in the Madden Game.
This might not work every time, about 65 percent of the time. The game should still be
active, but the connection from your opponent should be booted. Times you might get the win,
even if your opponent was winning or it might be no win or lose.

Advance Offense Cheats and Tips
14) ID the Mike Feature Blitz Blocking
a) New Feature that helps, with blitzes.
b) Press LB/L1 Button, press X (PS4)/A(XBOX ONE).
c) Notice the Capital M over the defense defender.
d) Use the Left Stick to move the M to the person you feel will come in for the
blitz.
e) Press X(PS4)/A(XBOX ONE), when you have the correct potential blitzer.
f) The Line will automatically block that player.

15) WR Playmaker Option Madden 18
a) This will work on a WR over middle
b) Use the Right Analog Stick to move WR, right, left or up.
Option, which might get someone open;hard to defend.

16) WR Playmaker Option Hitch Method
a) Pick a Play that has a WR on Hitch or one you can Hot Route on a Hitch.
b) When WR turns around, with the Right Analog Stick, direct him to open area.
This can be a nice option to have a Open WR, but if another WR is around him, you might end

17) WR Playmaker Option Route Cover 2
a) Example Play: Gun Bunch Wk Clearout SE Opt (Seattle, Miami PB, should be in
others)
b) Smart Route Right Inside WR. Snap Ball.
c) You want to focus on the Right Middle WR (this route can be found in other
formations). If your opponent tends to use Cover 2, this can help you get wide
open middle of the field.
c) Cover 2 Defense, the Middle WR will stop and turn around (most times).
d) When you see your WR do this, with the Right Stick, tap it to the left, your WR
will proceed toward the middle (most times leaving the defender behind and
getting wide open.

18) QB Auto Drop Cancel

a) After Snapping Ball, move Left Stick to the left.
b) This should cause you to take control of your QB without the autodrop.
19) WR as your TE
a) Example Play Formation: Gun Tight Offset TE (Customs PB).
b) Use the HB1 Sub Package. Pick any Passing Play.
c) Look through your audibles, pick any play, that would have a TE position.
d) One of your WRS should go into the TE position. Most times it will be your
Number 1 WR.
This should help those with slow TES.
20) WR in RB Position
a) Example: Gun Empty Base Flex (New England/Customs PB) Any Passing Play.
b) Pick HB Slot Package.
c) Formation Audible (Square- PS4)/(X XBOX ONE), the d-pad left or right.
d) Pick any formation, which has a RB in Backfield.
You should get your Number 2 WR in RB Position. You could use Depth Chat to place number

21) Hash Reminder Tip
a) When picking your Offense/Defense Play.
b) Pick a Formation, as you look at the play, you will see the Hash Harks in the
background, this will show where the ball will be placed.
22) Juke Running Method Madden 18
a) Keep an eye on the defender in the open field.
b) You need to keep a barrier of a few yards (2.5 to 3 yards) from you and the
defender, in front of you. If he is too close he will begin to tackle you.
c) You will need to use the Right Analog Stick
d) (1) If you are running to the left side, start with the Right Analog stick from
Middle position to 9:00 position (left); when you move the Right Analog Stick go up
(and make a U Shape) as you are going to the 3 oclock position.
(2) If you are running to the right side, start with the Right Analog stick from
Middle position to 3:00 position (right); when you move the Right Analog Stick up
(and make a U Shape) as you are going to the 9 oclock position.
When you move the Right Analog stick, it should be like a U Shape (the U Shape; you need to
go up on the Controller, for best results, This seems to work best if the defender is coming
down head on for you, from the outside it does not seem to work. Now your RB will slow
down, for a second, but if you juke correct, you should lose the player This wont give you a
TD every run, but it can increase your yards.

23) Offense Better Blocking Tip

a) This Blocking will have to do with your formation.
b) If you place your RB to help with Blocking, pay attention to which side he blocks.
c) If your RB is blocking right, then use Slide Protection left.
d) If your RB is blocking left, Slide Protection Right.
This will cause the most effective way to block properly and for the best results.
Better if you are using a Play Action Play, that you hot route the RB to a Block.
24) Cross Fire Blocking Tip
a) If you notice your opponent s using Cross Fire blitzes
b) Come out in Shotgun Formation WK (RB needs to be on Left Side of QB)
c) Block RB and Slide Protect Left.
This should help with Cross Fire only type blitzes
25) Offense Slide Protect Tip.
a) Not many seem to know this, to have the correct Slide Protection.
b) Allow your men to get to the Offense Line, and get set, before you pick
any Slide Protection, that way their angles are correct.
26) Slide Protection Tip and Better Blocking
a) When your men break the huddle. Do not Slide Protect, until your men get set.
b) Once your men get set, then slide protect, otherwise the CPU will reset your
Slide Protection to none.
c) Place your RB on a Block, see the Play Art and which way his block is going.
d) If the RB block is right, then slide protect left.
Basically, make sure Slide Protection is opposite of the RB Blocking angle. This tip should help
with better blocks.
27) Better Blockers Any Run Play.
a) If you use a certain team, and struggle with Blocks. Try using this tip.
b) You need to use TE/FB for better blocking, you need to look at the Depth Chart.
c) Look at your TE and FB, players, make notes if needed.
d) Scroll to the right, of the Depth Chart, you are looking for two things, Run
Blocking and Impact Blocking.
e) When you pick a running play, sub in the players you need.
In the video, I subbed the FB and TE with the best blockers I could find (with high rated Run
Blocking and Impact Blocking) if you see in the video, the FB has many good blocks, depending
how good your blocker is, he might even pancake the defender.

28) RB Blocker Develop Method Any Run Play.

a) This tip can help with allowing Blocks to Develop, for your RB.
b) After the Snap, while running with RB, press LT/L2 and not the Turbo Button.
c) As you continue to press LT/L2, this will slow down the aggressive defenders
trying to tackle the RB, and allow for Blocks to develop, once you press the Turbo,
the defenders will aggressively go after the RB.
29) Offense Lock Player Tip
a) Pick any Passing Play Route.
b) Place Cursor on any WR/RB/TE, Double Click Left Analog Stick Down (LS3
feature) to Player Lock WR/RB/TE.
c) You want to use a WR that will most likely have chance of getting open.
This will cause an auto throw with the QB, If you dont get open soon enough the QB will look

Red Zone/Short Yard/2 Point Conversion Plays

30) High Pass - 2 Point Conversion
a) Play Strong Slot Flex Double Slant (Customs PB).
b) Place Left Slot WR on Out Route. Snap Ball.
c) While your Left Outside WR is over middle, press LB/L1 and the WR icon.
Most times the Left Outside WR will jump over coverage.

31) Red Zone Killer Route High Pass Method
a) Play: Gun Y Off Trio WK PA WR In (Saints PB)
b) For Best Results, you need to be on Right Hash and Slot WR needs to have High
Catch Rating in Traffic.
c) Flip Play at Call Screen. Snap Ball.
d) Man/Zone, Left Slot WR with a High Catch Bullet (Press LB/L1 for high pass)

32) Single Back Doubles Flex - Red Zone Play

a) Play: Single Doubles Flex PA DBL Posts (West Coast PB)
b) Place RB on Swing Left Route. Snap Ball.
c) Man, Right Outside WR before cut, Left Outside WR if he gets in front of
defender,
d) Zone, Cover 2, Right Outside WR (need to time throw, get to him right on cut),
Left Slot WR after cut and after first zone (if he get below defender), RB.
Cover 3, Right Outside WR slightly after cut (this needs to be timed), RB
Best if used within 10 yards of End Zone. With The Right Outside WR on Zone, you need to practice

33) Motioned RB Route - Single Back Tight
a) Play: Single Back Tight Slots/Snugs HB Wheel (New England PB)
b) Motioned RB right Snap Ball after he sets.
If Man Defense, the RB should have a nice lead for a decent gain.

a) Play: Gun Tight Slots PA Flood Shot (Seahawks PB).
b) Place Fastest WR at Left Slot WR spot. Place Left Slot on Streak
c) Place Right Outside WR on Drag. Motion Right Slot WR left.
d) Snap Ball, look for Left Slot WR, if not the Right Outside WR should get open.

Pass),
In Cover 3 the motioned WR will keep middle Safety occupied, either the Right Outside WR or Right

a) Play: Gun Tight Offset TE PA Shot Seams (Saints PB)
b) Motion Left Inside WR right. Snap Ball after he sets. Block RB
c) Man, motioned WR over middle, Left Outside WR around cut (watch defender)
d) Zone, Cover 2, Right Inside WR (after first zone, should have a decent opening),
motioned man when he gets past middle (small opening)
e) Cover 3, motioned WR (after middle, deep ball or instant TD), Right Inside WR
(after first zone).
You want to make sure your motioned WR has decent speed.

a) Play: Strong Pro Power O (Customs PB).
b) Slide Protection Pinch. Snap Ball. Watch the lanes.
You might want to Sub your main Lead Blockers, with good run blockers for best results.
Most times you should get positive yards with this run.

a) Play: Monster Stack Inside Zone (Customs PB).
b) Slide Protection Pinch. Snap Ball. Watch the lanes.
Look at the defense, this run is glitch with the Pancake Blocks it offers, this play will be
overused. If the stack the line, just resort to a passing play.

e) Zone, Cover 2, Right Middle WR last cut, Right Inside WR (last cut, he should be
in the middle of zones)
Cover 3, Motioned WR toward sidelines , Right Middle WR going toward sidelines,
Right Inside WR around cut, Left Outside WR middle area.
This play has many open options with Man and Zone defense, Great Play to include in your
Bread Butter Plays.

a) Play: Gun Bunch Ravens/Texans Trail (Ravens/Texans PB)
b) You want to be on Right Hash, if on Left, Flip Play.
c) Quick Snap, make No Adjustments. Snap Ball.
d) Man, Left Outside WR, Right Middle WR past middle, Right Outside WR middle.
f) Zone, Cover 2, Left Outside WR before cut, Right Outside WR middle, Right
Middle WR past middle.
Cover 3, Left Outside WR toward sidelines, Right Outside WR toward middle,
Right Middle WR past middle.
If you think it is Man Defense, motion Left Outside WR right. When Left Outside WR makes
cut, he gets a burst of speed.

53) FG Clock Chewing Method
a) When kicking a Field Goal, and the game clock is running.
b) Aim, then allow the play clock to get down to 2-3 seconds, before kicking ball.
c) As you kick the ball, with the Right Analog Stick, hold in up position.
d) Play Clock should freeze and allow the game clock to run off about 5 seconds.
54) FG Clock Chewing Method No Time Out Opponent
a) When kicking a Field Goal, and the game is at Half or End of Game.
b) Kick the FG, ASAP, your opponent cant call a Time Out.
c) When the Bar get to the A (XBOX ONE)/X (PS4), hold that button
d) Allow the Clock to run out; when the Play Clock gets to 3 seconds, it will
automatically kick the ball.
This method can cost your opponent much needed time to try and win the game
55) Better FG Kick Accuracy
a) This tip should help with better accurate meter when kicking.
b) Go into the Menu, then settings.
c) Look for the Tab, Visual Feedback, scroll down until you see Enlarge On Field
Graphics, turn to on, then exit settings.
This should allow meter to be enlarged, giving a better chance to meet your mark
56) Delay of Game FG/Time Out Glitch
a) If you are lining up for the FG, and you just started the meter
b) Before the Meter hit the second A(XBOX ONE)/X (PS4)
c) Hold the A(XBOX ONE)/X(PS4), this will cause the meter to stay in place.
d) While you hold the meter let go and quickly click on Time Out, you can do over,
unless you think you can still make the FG, 5 yards back.
Letting go of the meter and clicking time out has to be done quickly, it really hard to get that
timing down, but can be done, otherwise your man will kick the FG. If you cant get the Time
Out to work, just go for the delay.
57) Kick Off Delay Game Glitch
a) At the beginning of half or after TD, where there is no Play Clock Running
b) Before the Meter hit the second A(XBOX ONE)/X (PS4)
c) Hold the A(XBOX ONE)/X(PS4), this will cause the meter to stay in place.
d) As long as you hold it, the game will delay for about 10 seconds

58) Better Onside Recovery

a) If you think your opponent will do an Onsides Kick, try this method
b) Come out in Onsides Recover Formation
c) If Onsides Kick, then double tap the Square (PS4)/X (XBOX ONE)
d) Place Cursor on 2nd Person next to Sideline, not the person next to sideline.
e) Hold Left Analog Stick Up, after ball is snapped, he will move away from the
LOS, and allow the sideline guy to get the ball.
Majority of the time your man will get the ball or the ball will get out of bounds.
The other thing the ball might not even get 10 yards. This does help with the ball not
bouncing off of other players.

a) This method only can be used if your Opponent is on the 5 yard line area (where
he is backed up on his End Zone).
b) Play: Special Teams FG Block Right Safe Man Right.
c) Sub in your Fastest CB/Safety at far Left Side position.
d) Place Cursor on the Far Left Side Position man.
e) After Snap, allow computer to let man run on his own, then take over with Left
Analog Stick, then press the Square (PS4)/X(XBOX ONE) to jump toward ball.
This is not too hard to get down, should work 70 percent of the time, you just only can do it
when your opponent is trapped in End Zone area.

Defense Plays:
60) User Catch Stealth Mode
a) This will take practice. You Take your CB or Safety. This setup gives the illusion
a WR will be wide open.
b) Place your defender on Purple Zone or Blue Flat Zone (depending on where you
want him to go). Then move him to the middle of the field and make sure you leave
the cursor on him. If you want him to guard a certain area, move him on the right
or left side, before you hot route him
c) After Snap, he will rush toward that area, then use turbo blitz.
d) Then try to user pick the ball.
This is great if they tend to go to a certain area of the field, with their favorite WR and can
trick them for a quick pick.
61) User Strafe Method Better Interceptions
a) Go to Settings, Game Options, Defense Auto Strafe (Off Position), Defensive
Ball Hawk (On Position), Defensive Heat Seeker Assist (On Position), Defensive
Switch Assist (On Position)
b) After your opponent passes the Ball, as ball goes toward WR, press Circle/B to
take over close defender.
c) Press LT/L2, then Ball Hawk, Triangle(PS4)/Y (XBOX ONE)
d) If needed, you can also swat the ball (Square (PS4)/X (XBOX ONE)
This will take some practice to get this down. This is not consistent using All Madden Mode.
62) Reading the Offense Run or Pass After Snap
a) After Snap, watch Offense Line.
b) If Pass or Play Action, the Offense Line will stand up.
c) If Offense attacks Defense Line, it is a run.
This tip should help you on defense especially if you are manually using a MLB or Safety to
troll for a pass or help against the run. If they are using a draw play, the Offense players
will act like it is a pass.
63) Defense Crash Tip.

a) Not many seem to know this; you need to allow your Defense to get set on LOS
b) When players get set, then Crash Defense Line so that their angles are correct.

64) Fumble Glitch Method User Strip

a) To be able to Strip the Ball better, you need to know which players can strip the
ball better.
b) Go to Main Madden Menu, scroll to the right.
c) Click on Customize Menu, and then Manage Rosters.
d) Click on Order Depth Chart. With L2/LT, look for your favorite team choice.
e) Look through Defense Players, once on a player, then Click L3 (Player Details).
f) You will see Strips Ball. If the Menu says yes, make a note of that player and use
him as a Ball Stripper.
g) As you pursuit a player, you will need to get in front of the Ball Carrier and take
the ball from him, while pressing R1/RB as you go toward the ball carrier
Practice this until you get the timing pattern, it really is basic, and you should be able to do
this with any ball carrier (WR, TE, Kick Off Return).
65) Better Double Coverage Method
a) Pick a Safety close to WR, which tends to get thrown often.
b) Man Coverage that Safety on that WR, then move that Safety back a few yards.
c) Place the CB that is assigned to that WR, on a Yellow Hook Zone.
You will need to practice with this, but when done right, you should be able to slow down that
WR.
66) DT Inside Run Tackle Method
a) If your Opponent tends to use Inside Runs, this method will help you get the RB.
b) Place Cursor on the DT or any other Defense Line Man, depending which side
they tend to run the ball.
c) Rapidly press the X (PS4)/A (XBOX ONE), even after the Ball snaps.
d) Watch the RB, and be ready to move the DT to go the same way of the run.
The DT should get away from his opponent and you can get to the RB.
