I. INTRODUCTION

Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) is suitable for

many different kinds of topologies and media. It does provide extremely quick
convergence times with minimal traffic. It is a kind of system that sends only
the updates needed at a given time; this is accomplished through neighbour
discovery and maintenance. EIGRP provides a way of determining which
paths a router has learned are loop-free. It also gives a process to clear bad
routes from the topology tables of all routers on the networks and a process
for querying neighbors to find paths to lost destinations.

EIGRP builds a topology table from each of its neighborss advertisements

instead of counting on full periodic updates to re-converge, and it converges
by either looking for a likely loop-free route in the topology table or if there is
no other route, by querying its neighbors.

V. CONCLUSION

By thoroughly following the given network topology and proper coding

and subnetting, this activity has imposed the advantages of the Enahnaced
Interior Gateway Routing Protocol. It offers very low usage of network resouces
during normal operation, only routing table changes are propagated instead of the
whole routing table when a change occurs therefore reducing the load the routing
protocol being placed on the network and it also offers rapid convergence time
for changes in the network topology. It is an enhanced distance protocol where it
calculates the shortest path to a destination within a network.
