Timing: 45 minutes

Lesson aims: (at the end of the lesson,the students will be better able to) :
- to identify students with unreal and imaginary situations
- to develop their knowledge about the usage of the second type of conditionals
- to develop the intra-personal and interpersonal intelligence
- to communicate and practice the English language skills
Affective aims:
- to create a warm atmosphere in order to offer the background for smooth easy conversation between
teacher and students;
- to give students an active role in the process of teaching/learning;
- to help students enjoy speaking a foreign language ;
- to make students confident when speaking English
Teaching aids: OHP, handouts, pictures, textbook.
Skills: speaking, reading comprehension, writing, listening
Organization : individual work, pair work, group work;
Teaching techniques: Text work , Spelling exercises, Interview, Asking/Answering to questions, Skimming and
Scanning a text.
Assumed knowledge: SS are familiar with some vocabulary
Anticipated problems: Ss may have some problems understanding and using specific vocabulary and they may
be tempted to use their native language when trying to explain things;
Didactic Strategies: Questions, explanation, disscutions, debate.
Evaluation: continuous, through observation and analysis of answers

ACTIVITY 1 - WARM-UP Interaction: T-Ss, Ss-T, Timing: 10 min

AIMS: - to get students involved into the topic and create a relaxed atmosphere;
- to give the students some practice in a funny and pleasant way

T. greets, checks the attendance and introduces the new topic: Imagine you were trapped on a desert
island. What would you want to take with you?(3 objects)
T hands worksheets to SS : an image with some objects and the SS have to choose 3 things and they
have to argue the choises.
T announces the objectives of the new lesson

ACTIVITY 2 Interaction: T- Ss, Class interaction, Frontal Timing: 20 min

AIMS: - to revise the 1st and the 2nd Contitional


- to develop their knowledge about the usage of the second type of conditionals
- to develop vocabulary skills

T display some flipcharts : rules of the 2nd Conditional


SS take turns on the board. and they will then do a series of activities to practise 2nd Conditional
SS are given handouts. They have to match the beginnings of the sentences to the correct endings to
make logical conditional sentences.
T plays a song m4 and the SS sing along

ACTIVITY 3 Interaction: T-Ss, Individual Work, Pair Work , Gw Timing: 18 min

AIMS : to face students with some unreal, imaginary situations with the purpose of providing practice
with the second type of conditionals and identifying the words read in the test
- to develop the intra-personal and interpersonal intelligence
- to communicate and practice the English language skills

T plays a m4 video Personality Test


T asks Ss to look and read the questions loudly
SS are asked to give the answers sincerely and raise their hands for choises

Assessment (1min): T appreciates the students that were active during the entire lesson and gives advice to the
less active ones.
Home assignment (1 min): worksheets with conditionals
