20th ANNIVERSARY MESSAGE SAF-JEDDAH

Greetings!

There are numerous forms of martial arts practiced in the world today. Many of us have had the
opportunity to train in these systematized methods of combat. But a true martial artist must be able
to say without hesitation what his/her martial art is a martial art that is practiced not in form and
techniques alone but in heart and mind as well. Shuseikan offers a rich history of instruction in
traditional and combat martial arts incorporating the effective elements of Aikido, kickboxing, boxing
and arnis. Twenty (20) years since its humble beginning in 1997, Shuseikan Aikido, undoubtedly,
has evolved into a distinct martial art and has created a special place in the exciting world of Aikido,
not only in the Middle East but around the world. And this could not have been possible without the
discipline and dedication of the great students of Shuseikan who adopted and practiced this martial
art as their own. Truly, it is us who make our own destiny. It is us who make our own mark in the
world of martial arts. A heartfelt thanks to all senseis around the world for your dedication and hard
work. Let us sustain the enthusiasm and interest of our students by continuously enhancing our skills
and professionalism in teaching Shuseikan Aikido.

On the occasion of our 20th anniversary, may I take this opportunity to remind all instructors and
members, including myself, the main objective of our organization which is - to promote, enhance
and inculcate to the public and the community the practical benefits of practicing Shuseikan Aikido,
which includes among others - physical fitness, mental and spiritual benefits, camaraderie and self-
defense techniques. The benefits are limitless and I know that each of us can come up with a
specific benefit based on our own experience in practicing the Art. As Shuseikan members, we
represent our organization where ever we may go. I trust that we keep up to the standards set forth
by our instructors and continue to uphold the seven virtues of our organization, one of which is
benevolence. Let us continue to extend our physical activities inside the dojo to reach out to our
community by extending help to our less fortunate fellowmen. Let us seize the chance whenever it
comes, to give back to our community for the blessings we receive from the Almighty.

Lastly, I would like to thank and congratulate all the out-going officers of Shuseikan Aikido
Federation Jeddah for 2016-2017 headed by its President Sensei Alfonso Emia for a job well
done, and I would also welcome the in-coming officers for 2017-2018 headed by President Sensei
Abdulrahman Albadawi. May you carry on the legacy left by the founding officers of Shuseikan
Aikido Federation and continue to improve and innovate ways to propagate our Art.
