Ray Elementary 2014-present
Assistant Principal

As assistant principal, I have supported our principal in whatever capacity was needed. I
have served as RTI Coordinator, and within that realm, I have provided training in best
practices for tiered intervention, led monthly meetings to discuss progress, and collaborated
with the RTI team liaisons in completing dyslexia and special education referrals. I have
assisted with dyslexia testing in Spanish and have reviewed testing data with district staff.
Furthermore, I have served as Testing Coordinator, Textbook Coordinator, LPAC
Coordinator, and 504 Coordinator. I helped implement the Dual Language program in its
first year, 2014-15. As the primary administrator over discipline, I focused on Restorative
Discipline practices and as a campus, our staff survey results increased for the discipline
indicators. I conducted Powerwalks for staff members and acted as the T-TESS Evaluator
for many teachers. Alongside our counselor, I acted as testing coordinator. In addition, I
facilitated all assemblies and ensured that Spanish translation was provided. I have also
worked with ourcampusregistrartoensureproperPEIMScodingofstudents. Ensuringthe
safety of staff and students has been my responsibility as safety coordinator. Moreover, I
have reviewed student data and have helped with decision-making regarding that data. This
school year, we added the Strategic Instruction Model (SIM)andE3ELLAllianceinitiatives
to our Campus Playbook. I have supported those initiatives by serving on the leadership
teams and by attending all required trainings. Building relationships with staff, parents, and
students has been one of my core goals as assistant principal. I have worked to build
positive, supportiverelationshipswithallstakeholders,especiallyteachers,whichisevidentin

Spanish-speaking and English-speaking parents. Finally,inApril,IpresentedattheAdelante
conference about the transformation our campus has undergone from monolingual to
bilingual.

Licensure Consortium (ISSLCs) and especially extensive experience in the areas of dual language education,
