strategies? 1. I will set the chart paper out on the larger group table
2. I will place the pictures of the food in a pile on the table.
3. I will hold up each picture and show the children.
4. As a group, we will name the food and decide whether it is
healthy or unhealthy.
5. I will also ask the children what type of food it is for
example: fruit or vegetable?
6. We will glue the food into their right spots on the chart
paper: healthy or unhealthy?
7. After we finish, I will post it on the wall so the children can
refer back to it.

Teaching Strategies:

Environmental Cues: I will place all my materials on the table,

with 8 chairs around it. Once the children see it, they will become
curious and come over to see what Im doing. Having 8 chairs
around the table will let the children know there are only 8 at a time,
and if there are no more chairs they need to wait their turn in order
to participate.

Questions: I will ask basic questions throughout the experience. For

example: what is this food called? Is it healthy or unhealthy? Do
you think this is a nutritious snack to bring into school for snack
time? These questions will encourage reflection and conversation
throughout the experience.
