Describe how you would use the Online Project/Collaboration Site/Publishing Opportunity in
your classroom:
I would ask my students to go onto this website and click on the write me a story challenge and
it gives you a character, prop, and place to include in your story. I would make this more of a fun
activity, but I would still grade them to see how creative they were in their story and if they
included all three items provided to them. This would be more of a chance to see how well they
do in their creative writing. You are able to submit the writing and it is voted on, whichever story
wins is published online! Which I believe in itself is great motivation for students because
everyone at that age wants to win something, whether physical or not.
What technologies would be required to implement this proposed learning activity in a
classroom? Laptop or desktop
Describe how the following features are addressed in this learning experience (note: all of them
may not be addressed in the project, but most should be if you are reaching a high LoTi Level.):
a. Collaboration with peers, near-peers, mentors outside their classroom and often
beyond their school: This is a site that be absolutely accessed outside of the
classroom. If they didnt have a chance to vote for their favorite story they can do
that at home or if they wanted to come up with multiple different stories they
could do so at home as well with the help of a mentor or friend. This is a website
that can be used with peers beyond the classroom.
b. Student-centered learning and knowledge creation (collecting original data and or
producing original products as a result of engaging in the project): This online site
is all about creating original pieces of work, all you are given is a small prompt of a
particular character, prop, and place to include. That doesnt mean you cant add
more characters or props or even have your characters go to multiple different
places.
c. Higher-order thinking: Creating your own story
d. Students publishing their original work to others who will use/care about their
product: Once your complete your creative story your submit it to the website and
then other people are able to go and vote on which story is their favorite at the
chance to win and have your story published on the Internet.

What Level of Technology Implementation best describes this learning activity and Why? I
believe this project is at a LoTi 5 considering the students are making their own stories up with
the prompts they are given. This reaches this LoTi level because the students are able to go
outside of the classroom and they are able to publish these stories to the website with a chance of
winning and having their story published on the Internet.
How could you implement this proposed learning experience and still comply with your districts
Internet Safety and Student Privacy policies? Very minimal personal information is required with
this website, such as first name, date of birth, gender, and the country you live in. This is allows
the website to develop appropriate age content for the users.
