3- Stressful Things: PTSD in Nursing presented by Daniel Perry MSN, RN. Discusses the
etiology of PTSD in nursing and looks at some of the interventions on the primary, secondary,
and tertiary prevention tiers utilized in recognition and treatment of this disorder.
4- There is No Place Like Home presented by Eliza Smith and Lynn . Topic will discuss
strategies for self-care, recognizing the need for self-care, and as students how to balance the
"spinning plates".
5- Nursing risk stratification and response for chest pain: Simulation Presented by Edward
Briggs DNP. A series of patient simulations to aide nurses to evaluate and risk stratify chest
pain in the acute MI/STEMI, pulmonary embolism and aortic dissection.
6- Tips and Tricks of Clinical Assessment by Edward Briggs DNP. Discusses various methods
to improve clinical assessment skills and apply findings to nursing interventions. Focus on
cardiac assessment, respiratory assessment and neurologic assessment.
7- The Down and Dirty of Advanced EKG Interpretation by Edward Briggs DNP. This
presentation will provide attendees with instruction regarding essentials of 12 lead EKG
interpretation, how to detect acute and chronic myocardial injury, discern axis and differentiate
different blocks.
8- Global Health Nursing presented by Rhonda Goodman PhD, ARNP, FNP-BC. A synopsis of
global health, the aims of the Sustainable Development Goals, global nursing in rural
Guatemala.
9- Physical Assessment- Head to Toe presented by Rhonda Goodman PhD, ARNP, FNP-BC.
Explanation and demonstration of a basic head to toe physical assessment.
10- Rocking Your Nursing Interview presented by Stacy Brzezinski RN, MSN, CCRN and
Becky Bkwitowski RN, BSN-B-C. A comprehensive look at what goes into the interviewing
process for a new graduate nurse or when interviewing within the nursing profession.
11- Perioperative Experience- Hands On! Florida Council of Operating Room Nurses (FCORN)
presented by Linda Connelly PHD, RN.
12- Pre-Nursing Student Q/A Session presented by Florida Nursing Student Association
